When was the last time you did not kiss? HungerBAD: |
Recently, the military played a glaringly biased and unprofessional role in Bayelsa, Rivers, particularly Ogoni, during the rerun elections in favor of the APC . The citizens there mobilized to resist them at cost of some lives. I guess those set of soldiers are 'professionals' in the eyes of PMB. |

If you have a savings account with First Bank, please check if you are being charged account maintenance charges and write to the bank , report to CPC , EFCC and CBN for them to refund your money, from the point of law and logic, it is illegal. I am currently preparing a litigation and I will keep you all posted as we proceed. Account maintenance charge was introduced by CBN on 20/01/2016 to make up for the zero COT regime. Just like COT (Commission on turnover), account maintenance fee (AMF) is strictly for current accounts and not savings account. A CBN circular to all banks on 20/01/2016 states clearly how to apply AMF. Months ago, First bank resorted to exploiting me and other customers by charging AMF and even stamp duty fee on savings accounts. When I complained, they responded from firstcontact that savings accounts with 'high withdrawals' are charged AMF. For over two months they have ignored the following questions my colleague asked them: 1) What is the withdrawal limit of savings account to prevent being charged AMF? 2) Why do you introduce a charge that is not supported by CBN regulation? 3) Why do you still charge AMF on an account that witnessed on N3,500.00 withdrawal in a month? 4) When was the last time you paid interest on my savings account? 5) Why was COT not charged on savings accounts with 'high withdrawals' 6) Since I now pay COT on savings account, can you please issue a cheque to me on the account? 7) Can I now give someone reference? I consider this action fraudulent, exploitative and insensitive see one of their replies below: The EFCC should beam a search light on the banks to prevent abuses on citizens accounts especially now that things are tough. We need change in this direction. I will keep you posted on my legal actions soon |
First bank holding my money for two months now, all my colleagues have quit the nonsense first thieves. Charging people account maintenance fee on savings accounts when CBN clearly states its only on current accounts. |
What is the data consumption rate? |
Oshimole comes to mind. |
The soldier should be apprehended and made to face the law. He is following the ' body language' of disdain to rule of law. If someone violates the rule of law there is a process and recommended penalty, not breaking of people's mirrors. |
Then why is OBJ not probed, seeing clear evidence of corruption and giving a blind eye while you go after GEJ men is corruption itself. It only means you go after those who opposed your election and not those who are corrupt. |
This is why First bank is now criminally charging COT (account maintenance charges) on savings account now. While CBN stated clearly that it is only on current accounts. I quietly opened a new account in GTB last week. My colleagues have been complaining to the branch and they give them one nonsense reason 'because you are making much withdrawals' and they could not tell them the allowable withdrawal limit. They have all gone to other banks. If things are tough, must you rob citizens to survive? |
Kindly probe why Osun state March allocation was N6.00M only. |
emmloppy:If it happened before and still happens now, where is the change? |
Awesome! |
Obama inherited an American economy from Bush at its lowest ebb in 1999. He proceeded to bail out ailing private companies like General Motors and many others with public fund and the economy bounced back. GEJ granted import waivers to private firms to stimulate home economy and prevent job losses and Buhari people in House of Reps are busy shouting that we lost billions due to import waivers granted by GEJ. They lack the capacity to analyze the effect of that ingenuous action on our economy. They don't know its an economic tool yet they clap for Dubai and China who operate low or zero tax/ duty regime to attract foreign and stimulate local investments. Hypocritically, they clap for PMB who waived tax for Dangote last month in exchange for road construction in a certain Northern state. APC need sound economists and statesmen to rescue Nigeria. Its not enough to seize power by propaganda, you must use it aright. |
budosky:Very wise saying, the way it should be but I wonder why this admonition was not followed when GEJ was in charge. Nigerians were taught how to despise and insult a president by APC, they are yet to forget the teachings. |
gboye1999:Thanks for your submissions gboye. Recall that the FG under GEJ had already issued warnings about dwindling inflow of foreign earnings when crude prices declined from $100+ to about $50 / barrel. That saw his economic team implement ingenious policies to cushion the effect on our local economy. Do you remember the bailout to airlines, development fund for agric and the automotive polices? These were some of the economic stimuli including import waivers to prevent importers from going out of business. Remember most of the items that qualified for waivers were materials needed for manufacturing. Our reps failed to analysis the impact of the economic activities that followed the waivers on our economy. Some of those economic management approaches was why we did not have so many industries folding like its happening today. That is why our GDP was conserved. That is why our economy did not shrink in geometric rate. We should not be in a haste to criminalize any action. I personally salute PMB for striking the road construction deal with Dangote in exchange for tax waivers earlier this month. |
Import duty waiver is a tool used by govt to improve cross border trade volume and swell local economy. Part of what makes Dubai and China global business hubs today is the low duty regime. Govts can also bail out private companies and banks with public fund like Obama and Yaradua did. PMB recently bailed out sates with money from LNG. PMB also decently granted Dangote tax waivers in return for roads in one of the northern states. Must we criminalyze every thing? The question should be if the President had the power to grant waivers. |

dynamo77:So would you expect your man to be giving his boss instruction in the office? Every setting has a boss, in the office the boss is the boss irrespective of the gender. Also in the family, there is a boss, if you are the boss to your husband, please give instructions and he has to comply, but if the guy is the boss, he will give instructions and if you comply, sanction applies. |
' and you confronted him', why? Was there any issue then? Are you sure there was no unnecessary animosity against her before she decided to ' fight back' ? However, she lacks self discipline to stay put and observe a family dissolve because of her ' love'. You need to pray sincerely and be ready to change if after a genuine self examination, you are also found wanting. You can earn the ears of your brother by ceasing to be confrontational, apologize to him for being hostile and he will be deeply shocked... slowly, he will regain his senses and act aright. My sincere concerns for your pains. |
Mehn those pics are cool. I love them beautiful city spectacles especially captured under golden rays like many in those pics. Lagos is part of Nigeria... no beef please. |
Amaechi, Fashola and all those who got their children secretly into CBN without public adverts or Buhari is not fighting corruption but PDP. |
Congrats bro. The Lord be praised. |
WeNigerDelta:Oriental oil assets are in Akwa Ibom State, while the companies head quarters is in Abuja with a smaller one in Lagos. They are also taking over the assets of Afren petroleum in the Niger Delta following the liquidation of Afren. From the companies website, almost all the directors and key management staff are Indimi's children or children INLAW. |
Tell me, if GEJ was a Fulani, would the sponsors of Boko Haram have gone that far? Would Chibok girls miss? Would the Moslem soldiers have sabotaged the army? |
porka:May it never get to that level for you and I. |
People created Book Haram, they wanted power to return from the 'infidels' to the 'rightful owners', brainwashed some illiterates to think they are fighting 'Jihad', they have the script, they will end it when they want it, more Chibok girls may be 'found' before May 29. Today, they want grazing reserves in every state for their personal businesses, they started by hiring mercenaries (herdsmem) to kill people and then tell us the solution to the problem they created is National grazing reserves. We are not all dumb. |

This is a very sensible post. I commend you OP and add that you are 100% correct in your submissions. However, I wish to say that the last elections left Nigeria more divided than anytime after the civil war and scars of wars don't fade easily. The APC employed a lot of resources on propaganda than it has ever been done in Nigeria's history. I stay in the South and the perception is still rife that Boko haram was a political creation to oust GEJ, and that they will not be in a haste to stop it so that the perception would not be confirmed. Could you remember citizens calling for GEJ to go when terrorists strike? Some even said attack on BH is attack on the North? Some failed to condemn the culprits. That is not an example to follow and retaliation is counter productive but the fact is that GMB and APC made comments and took actions that deepened the divide and like you said, we reep what we sow. We cannot easily forget the occupy Nigeria protest which I partook in Lagos state. So why should we clap for them now. Do you remember that we missed an opportunity to attempt fixing our unity issue because ONLY APC and some northern elements mocked the National Confab just becuse it was convened by GEJ their enemy? They unconsciously created and retained a state of anger and bitterness for themselves. OBJ, Amaechi, Atiku, Tinubu, Kwankwanso, Rochas and others mentioned in the ignoble Halliburton scam, National Id card fraud, PHC monorail scam, Mambilla power project scam, oil bloc self allocation and others could not have wanted a power change because GEJ was currupt. They need to do more to heal the wounds they contributed else the cycle , though wrong, may continue. |
Na only Amaechi them see? What of Fashola, Tinubu, Rochas and Aregbasola? These were functional ATM's too. |
