ll changed my car battery this morning having runned diwn the previous day but to my surprise the car starts and stram continously but will not accelerate thus not moving from its position when gear is engadged.
Spme guess l invited to diagnos are not too sure of the problem but they opined that it must have been the ECU that is affected.
pls experts help out.

What is the exact scan result? Install spacers on the oxygen sensors (if they are still good) your caravan is most likely over 10years and it might be hard getting tokumbor catalysts that would still be functional also american parts are hard to get in ladipo market. So space the O2 sensor if it is still good (spaver will cost less than 1k) and rest.

Scan vehicLe and post the error codes (please scan engine codes)

If you have no codes, then possibly fuelpump or crankshaft positions sensor problems, this can be ruled out by conducting a few tests, don't be in a hurry to replace parts.

Surprisingly punchy too. I leave so many BMW and Benz drivers behind on 3MB every Saturday I'm sure they'll be scratching their heads

Good job GAZZUZZ realy appreciate ur work, have been an observer for a while jst got a camry 03 model (aka big daddy) the issue I'm having is that the noise the car makes when I'm making a turn or apply the brake, also the power steering gets a bit stiff once in a while have check the power steering oil and is well topped but when I open the bonnet I notice a bit of oil spill from the container of the power steering, but my main problem is the noise coming from the trye area and is kind of wobbles a bit when driving on the road except is a very smooth road, the previous owner informed me the legs of the car was changed the back and from don't know if that might be the issue I recently drove through a very horrible road for about an hour and the noise became worse, I don't know if I can get contacts of a specialist in that area so I can solve the leg problem once and for all, will realy appreciate ur response, and other members from the forum appreciate ur response.

When it comes to noises an audio attachment would be better so I can determine which familiar spirit is causing the problem. where's ur location?

Welcome, how's ur radio? You actually didn't have to replace your clutch kit, when I bought mine I had same problem cause it was parked for 2years, I notice the piston inside the upper and lower clutches expanded a little sandpapering and clutch has been working fine for almost a year now.

Last week in ladipo promiseland warehouse I priced it for 140k, I didn't buy cause I was there to buy a gearbox. I fix cars and I'm up to date on the prices of most car parts including engines. Even the 2AZ engine (mostly used by camry i4 2003-2008)is now sold for less than 160k, if you want to buy and install an engine contact me we shall go shoping.

You should be more concerned with the leak. A can of gas (large one) is 1k

I go the preventive way, by using gloves, but somtimes they get soaked with oil, but I don't get chunks of grease under my nails. If I get grease under my nails I use petrol with a toothbrush, then any harsh soap I can find. And yes the smell of petrol can be annoying somtimes.

It has about 200,000 miles on it. I dunno whether the tranny fluid has ever being changed before but a physical inspection of the bolts on the exhaust pipe and the tranny pan suggest it has not.. Is it possible to use diagnostics code to know if its due for change? Also is there anywhere I can change it in Lagos?

Last week I replaced tranny fluid on same model of vehicle, contact me if you have not changed yours, its not as hard as it looks.

What type of engine do u use? Is it the 1az or 2az engine?

You might still have to replace engine keep your fingers crossed.

Just got a Toyota avensis car 2004 model,the ac works well while on top speed,but perform low on low speed,but on coming from Lagos yestaday,I discovered that the temperature gauge suddenly increased,then on noticing such I stopped,only to open the bonnet and discovered that the car was overheating.Poured water inside the radiator,on starting the car again after some while,I discovered that the car couldn't start again,so the car was towed to the nearest mechanic along the road and was told that the gasket is flat(got burnt),the rings broken,was told by the mechanic that those stuffs will be replaced,just want to know maybe it won't cause any serious damage to the engine and hope it will work well after those stuffs are being replaced

Headgasket could be bad, but the piston rings I doubt they could authoritatively tell you it is bad just by looking.

Next time your vehicle overheats, allow it self cool to a resonable temp (wait 30mins-1hr) before pouring water, you might save your head gasket from issues like this.

Don't allow the mechanic open the lower part of your engine (pistons,crankshaft,rings)he should just unsrew the head, and change the gasket the head (topcylinder).

Seems the nutjob knows what he's talking abt.
