. Bring down the entire setup, search for the noise when the pedal is out you will find it.

Please help. I drive Accord 2005 but i have some issues with the car. It all started with fuel consumption and I was told to do some things. I changed the Plugs, i changed 4 coil, I did service, clean the injector, changed the Catalyst on Monday cos the old one has been removed which I never aware not until i was told last week Friday when I visited one Mechanic at Alagomeji but I recently noticed that after long drive of 45mins it will refuse to accelerate and i will have to put it to Neutral while on Motion then back to Drive before it can move. I have scanned the car and have changed all what they told me but the problem still persisting. Please I don't mind if someone can recommend a good mechanic to check for me as am tired of wasting money on the car without seeing a good result.

When you say refuse to accelerate do you mean loss in power or engine revving but vehicle not moving (slipping)

The first(loss in power) Is most likely the fuel pump, while the other is possibly transmission related.

Personally I feel it just shows manufaturing details for the belt, which include date of manufacture.

Scanned it and found out that the security installed on the car does not feed gas enough to the engine on start up and reduces power to the engine. The only code I got was p 1008 suggesting thermostart fuse issue.

p 1008 There's no such code for a 2004 rav4.

Fuse nah 100naira, knowledge well that has a price................ Meanwhile for a fuse to get blown it means there was a problem somwhere, what changes did you make of recent? Changed any bulBs?

I bought a Rav4 2004 CUV last month, but am having challenges with it. My car does have hard starting and when It starts and I put it on drive or reverse, the ignition will just turn off. I don't know what could be the issue. Also when I Park on a hill, it will refuse to start. Please help me with solutions. Thanks

There is nothing to fix! It happens, and thats why the manufacture put the release knob. The park pawl got stuck somehow. Just drive your car home.

That's also a possibility but a very slim one.

Start by checking if your brake bulbs light up when you step on the brakes.

There's an inhibitor switch in the gear lever that is triggered on the following conditions, 1. Car ignition must be on, or engine running, 2. Car must be in park position, 3. brakes must be pressed. If your brake switch (located near brake lever)is tampered with the inhibitor switch will seize to function, also if the inhibitor switch is faulty same thing will happen.

Another transmission installed, and problem persists. This has been narrowed down to the TCM.

I really regret the death of the first replacement transmission. A very sweet box

Now, I need to get where this vehicle is!!

Any idea how much this ECU costs?

If I may ask, have you ever driven a new Peugeot with manual tranny? Can you compare it to the older manual transmissions in older lions?
