I am beginning to believe the source of that noise were my tyres. These were brand new tyres I bought last year. Have done some trips with the car since the tyre replacement, but it appears they have started becoming noisy on roughly tarred road. Abuja road can be deceptive sometimes, when it comes to knowing noisy tyres or not, untill drive outside town. Will stay away from that tyre brand.

Or did you experience it as well?

Ikenna
Ikenna, problem is the rd I experience it all the time, you are correct and very observant.

I use ap viscoe 2000. The oil filter is always changed after every service. Meanwhile it happens only at cold start. Usually in the morning or when the car is left for a long time. But afterwards you don't hear the rattling again.
Bro you are killing your engine visco 2000 is 20W50 not designed for ur engine, if I'm right your engine requires 5W20 please search for the right lubricants for your engine.

Help! Car gurus...my 2005 toyota camry has a rattling noise when starting, thereafter it stops. my mechanic says it's the chain and I need frequent oil change than regular. Please how do I stop this as it's giving me concern. And secondly how do I correct the acceleration as it's not responsive like my acura v6. I guess they say it uses a sensor. It responds 1sec after pressing it, instead of the normal response I'm used to. Is this normal since it uses a sensor?
@ the bolded I'm guessing your vehicle is burning oil.
Please replace ENGINE.

Please nairalanders, i bought a honda academy from some one and after my mechanic assessed it, he advised me to change d engine, so i bought a complete engine
, but he told me that honda hala engine was more durable than the I Vtec that came with car, i listened to him an bought a H.hala engine, he changed it, he also did a rewiring as d hala engine does not come with sensor, after all said n done, the car started doing BRAKE N QUENCH, they v changed fuel pump, filter, throttle sensor, oil n many things i can not recollect, but the problem persists...please somebody help me before i get wrecked
The honda accord (accedemy) 1994-1997 is equiped with a distributor and sometimes a cranck shaft position sensor, these 2 sensors tell the ecm(brain box) how fast the engine rotates and at what angle. The honda accord (halla)1989-1993 DOES NOT use a crank position sensor only uses a distributor, now swaping both engines requires modifications in the harness and probably an ecm swap also, while I doubt you did an ecm swap some how the engine has been made to start and run but in terrible shape and probably in limp mode.

Swaping an engine requires swaping an EXACT match that way all the sensors required are all there, the accord engine (accedemy) is very reliable and relatively cheap (40-45k) there was no point going back to an older engine.

Ordinarily I would have told you to tell your mechanic to check the IACV (idle air control valve) located behind the intake

But at this point I doubt this will do you any good.

So let's go the crooked and narrow path.

1. Buy your exact engine
2. Return your wiring back to its exact specification
OR
Since you want to go all halla
1. Buy a 1989-1993 ecm and harness
2.Get a good "sparky" to wire it up.

There are no shortcuts to your present problem, our mechanics can be very convincing and lead you the wrong way.

Good luck.

Hi Ikenna,

I recently changed my front windshield and i've been having issues with automatic wiping. When the wiper is set to auto it only does a 5sec interval wiping no matter the amount of water poured on the screen.

The sensor was carefully removed when removing the old windshield and carefully placed on the new one. Attached are screenshots of the type of sensor my D9 uses and also a screenshot of the new windshield purchased.
Unluckily for me the rear windshield just broke to pieces on it's own. I have also replaced that but was unable to get a new one. The issue with this is that it did not come with the heater connector. Though, when removing the old rear windshield, i found out that the connector was glued to the screen.

Lastly, i noticed my top right engine mount (the one with double bushing) gets damaged so easily. I've had to change it twice in the past month.

Kindly advice me on the best way to resolve this issues.
I had same issue when I replace my front wind shield, I guess no matter how careful the are at removing the sensor it still gets damaged in the process.

For the engine mounts, its possible there's more than 1 faulty engine mount "possibly the lower right" that might be causing the the quick damage to the top right side.

The car is year 2000 wagon and engine size is
2.0. CVT transmission.

I recently changed the flywhweel and torque
converter
of the car. But the mechanic
ignorantly and forcefully cut out the two wires
on the connector on dropping resistor on the
transmission when he separated engine from
transmission during the repair work. The
connector got stuck together and we had to
remove the connector and join the wires only.
The car now drives without selecting the gears.
Engine revs at 2200RPM for car speed of
60/70km/h as against 1800RPM for car speed
of 90/100km/h before we did the flywheel/
converter replacement. Now when the CVT
transmission changes from high gear to low it
also immediately goes back to high gear. It will
also attempt to change again but immediately, in less than two seconds, goes back to high gear. This can be observed by the engine rpm going
down and up again immediately and accompanied with a minor jerk rather staying
down for higher speeds. Please what can be done now?

We have drained the transmission oil two
times and cleaned the magnetic filters and
refill but there still no improvement. The
transmission oil is still light red and clean for I
changed around six months ago and the car
has covered less than 1500km.
But please is there any special information on
how to place the magnetic filters on the cover
of the transmission? Or do they need a replacement?

Please, can driving the car in this state spoil the transmission? I asked because I realized that the car can still accelerate to high speed (100, 120, 130 km/h, etc) in this state.

Your comments are highly appreciated.
If you have no codes, go back to the drawing board, check bolded.

Thanks for your advice, I have now got a proper sparky to fix this electrical issue. It was actually a miscommunication between my fuse box and ECU.
The only thing is my radio which apparently has a bad power line inside it. The guy quoted me N15k for that and I said tufiakwa never! Abeg please give me a ballpark figure for how much such a repair should cost if you can.
It cost me 10naira (no jokes) but it might cost you more just a burnt fuse in fuse box and another diode inside the radio. Add me up on bbm I might do it FOC for u.

Hello gazzuz, pls I need your technical guidance. My car goes off on the road while I am driving. No jerks. It just goes off and restarts after 15mins. Its a toyota corolla 2010. I ran a scan and the results interpreted showed the inhibitor switch had a wrong connection. I also showed there were issues with the immobiliser communication system.
Pls what do I do
Which inhibitor switch? Pls actual codes are preferable.

Problem seems to be centered around the immobilzer, for now try and use your vehicle with the spare key.

Wheres your location?

I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima which have been serving me well but recently I noticed that when ever it want to enter the second gear it will gear in hard.
I when to see a mechanic and then remove service the valve but it still enter the second gear hard and with a sound "guk". I when for diagnosis and nothing was found either. Please is there any help you can render. I use seahost DXII for the gear transmission.

Again, the car consumes lots of fuel beyond my imagination this days. It consumes 45lits from Abuja to Jos and its a V6 engine. Is there anything I can do about the fuel consumption?

Your help will be appreciated.

Thank you.
The correct transmission oil for your vehicle is dextronIII not dextronII

Since you said a scan reviled nothing then your fuel consumption is probably due to your driving pattern, but I guess you need to get a proper engine scan. As for the hard shifting, please get another transsmission to avoid wasting money on unnessesary money on repairs.

I read a lot about this technology and we are not ready for it, major problem is when the gen shuts off on its own due to a mechanical faliure, the gas continues to supply,(this happens in most designs) what you have next is an accident waiting to happen. Petrol is not that expensive, ill rather stick with perol for now.

VTEC
Primary heated O2 sensor
Secondary heated O2 sensor
Automatic transaxle malfunction.
Please what do I do from here?
Replace Vtec its in the picture above, that's why your car is not reving past 3000rpm
Replace both oxygen sensors (this will fix the fuel consumption) also give me a specific code for your transaxle malfunction.

If you fix all these you are almost done.
