markpenk: You can either explain or not. Mechos are known to recommend toks extracted from other vehicles instead of brand new parts -- something about brand new parts being of inferior quality. Some folks don't know the difference. No need to be condescending .
As an ASE Google mechanic we don't recommend products with inferior quality.
A vehicle leaves the production line with new parts, they get used and become old. Why would I recommend such parts?

chibatov: Good morning Mr. GAZZUZZ I have had this 2007 Lexus es 350 for a year and 2 months now and due to poor maintenance the gearbox is now damaged. The gear still selects and shows on the dashboard but refuses to actually engage or move the car. The oil was topped yesterday but nothing changed and on inspection very short, round and tiny pieces of metals not fatter than a cigarette were found inside the gear box. My mechanic suggests I get half gearbox(the part facing the tire) since the cost of getting a new one is very high. Please what do you suggest? I forgot to take pictures of the metals.
Replace with a complete transmission.

Sell the car if you cannot afford it's maintenance.

MedicH: I have this problem i do not understand. It's the remote control of my car doors this thing operates or sort of presses on its own. I am inside my house at the moment and i can see that the red light that show on this thing similar to dstv remote when u press it is showing steady meaning there is a contact somewhere and if i get close to my car now the doors will start opening and locking at random. Is there a way to change this key remote? How do i go about this and how will i get the new remote i purchase to recognise this moto and open the doors?

I own a Kia Optima sx Gdi 2011 I took the car for a engine wash yesterday at the car wash, after the engine dried up, I drove the car for some minute before I noticed it's not changing gear and made some search and was told it's in Limp mode... Fast forward to today......I took it in to be diagnosed at a company and it reads an p1326 glow stuck error.....the engineer reset and erased the code, the car was perfect for some hour and the check light icon start blinking again, I had to take it back in and was told the p1326 error code is back...
I want to ask if by chance you have come across this error code in Kia and what does it means sir
I think it is a coincidence this code popped after a wash.
P1326 is that the KSDS registered a knock that is common with the bearing wear issue, ensure you have the right quantity of engine oil and weight.
I have a 2008 RAV4, when I start some days, it takes time to go into 'D'. I normally back out of my garage and then go out, when you put it in R, it engages normally, then you put it in D to move forward, the gear selector enters D, but it takes like 5 secs before the car starts moving forward. It mostly happens in the mornings, not everyday though. Please what could be the cause?

It's condensation from very cold pipes. You should bend down and look under with a flash light, might be some evaporator job not coupled back properly

Somebody who sat there said it’s cold. I went to ac people and they said water only goes out through one pipe and I was shown the pipe and it was put very well inside the hole that leaks outside. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has exempted vehicles with factory-fitted tinted glasses from the ban on issuance of permits.
The IGP, who made the clarification during a virtual chat with the media, noted that the decision was taken to stop the abuses associated with the use of tinted glasses and SPY number plates.
He also spoke on his vision for the Nigeria Police Force, stating that he will work hard towards entrenching a culture that rewards good deeds and punishes bad ones.
Baba emphasised collaboration with sister security agencies and the traditional institutions, including monarchs and community-based groups.
The IGP deplored attacks on police formations, especially in the South East, saying concerted and intelligence-driven efforts of his team had drastically reduced criminal activities.
The police chief acknowledged that his operatives were cashing in on the ban to harass innocent car owners with factory-fitted tinted glass, adding that measures are ongoing to address the perceived excesses.
He said: “Yes, we understand that there are usually issues with policies and their implementation. The directive on tinted glass is not about the factory-fitted ones, but those that are artificially made to cover the whole screens.
“If you look at the factory-fitted tinted glasses, you can still see through them and if there is any need for the driver to open the doors, the security officers would know. But those that are not factory-fitted are completely covered so that no one knows who or what they carry. Those are the ones the ban is targeted at.”
The IGP had, in June, announced the immediate suspension of tinted glass permits and issuance of SPY number plates in the country.
