1. I entered into a contract to replace the engine, fluids and radiator for Baba40

2. The vehicle was recently purchased by baba40 prior to meeting me and was massively abused.

3. A Foreign used engine was procured and installed with a 3month warranty or 3000km which ever comes first.

4. I did not receive any complaints from Baba40 until after the expirations of his warranty.

5. The procured engine in the market where it was sourced comes with a 1 week warranty and not a money back guarantee. (They will fix and not replace in the event of failure).

6. As a responsible entity we stick our necks out for our clients because we stand by what we sell.
We give long warranties so in the case of failure the client is covered.

7. I was contacted on the 4th month and after over 3,340km that engine installed on baba40's vehicle suffered oil burn.

8. As a responsible entity I offered him a window of full refund for expense made on engine procurement and installation . The window was 24hrs.

9. Baba40 Did not respond to my offer, but rather insulted me further.

10. 3weeks after the offer elapsed he opened the thread above.




I have sold and installed hundreds of engines to nairalanders on this platform. Over 99per of the time it turns out well without issues. There are times it does not. This is possibly one of those cases.

In the past i have fully refunded aggrived clients for all funds expended as written in the invoice (fluids, labour , logistics, and parts) and also installed their old parts back, I can call out 2 nairalanders that have received this gesture this year. Business is not all about money but about having a good name and brand.

This is not a court issue but about good customer service and serving your fellow Nigerian in good faith. How will you be comfortably selling a Tokunbo engine to some that would only last a few months. Do you know how hard it is to fork out 400k in this present economy?

At this point I was fed up and stopped work. Told the client I was no longer interested in his job and he would be refunded and he can take his car elsewhere.

He pleaded and I declined.


Finally his wife called and after a lengthy talk I agreed to continue his work.

We finished without any issues.

Only complaint he had afterwards was the check engine light on, which was clearly due to a missing catalytic converter.

Other time , was a faulty starter relay which he fixed himself and a bad fuel pump which he also fixed himself.

According to the OP he had already complained when the oil first dried up and thats before the warranty expired but the accused said something about mineral oil. I think the OP has every right to be angry.

This isn't about warranty, the engine is bad. It's a breach of TRUST. HE showed me a very nice engine and called it 220k, later he said it belongs to someone in Kaduna and promised to get me another like that not BORALE

You live in Lagos ojodu which is 10-15mins / 6-8km drive from my workshop., even after you insulted me I was still gracious enough to tell you to bring back the car and get a Full refund this was exactly on the 29th of October 2020 @ 19:41. I gave you 24hrs grace you did not respond after that, you did not also ask for extra time. Today is 21st Nov 2020.

He sold a worked engine for me as tokunbo engine yet insult me like I'm collecting it as credit or free. The engine he sold for me for N220k . What will you say about a "tokunbo" engine that engine oil( the one he recommended and bought) dries up just in less than 1000miles. I poured another 4litre it has short again.

May Gazzuzz generation feel the pain I'm feeling now and the one he made me feel except I got the money through a dubious way too.. He made me cough out almost N400k upon insult and abuse oooo yet the engine he bought and fixed for me is a worked engine.

He showed me a clean tokunbo engine but gave me a worked engine, may the force of universe take advantage of your ignorance and work against you in all ramifications of your life.

Each time I bought Mobil 5w30 I swear for your generation. Imagine me using 4gallons of Mobil 5w30 in the space of 2000miles.

Yesterday, I lost my car battery due to my generosity (borrow-borrow)
The battery was excellent before a friend came to borrow it for sometime, when he returned it; my car couldn't start again.
I took it to battery charger back and forth but at the end of the day I was told the battery is condemned!

Now I want to buy another battery but I don't know the best fit/size for my car.

Camry 2000 started vibrating on deceleration yesterday. Vibration continues even after i start accelerating, then it stops. The vibration stops faster if i do a series of stepping on the gas and taking off my foot....as though something needs to fall into place.
Routine gear oil and brake pads change the day before....and gear oil filter change too
I suspect the gear. But the gear shifts very well up to 5 during acceleration and downshifts smoothly until one is nearly stopping before the vibration starts. If i drive slowly, for instance inside a street, i can brake without any vibration.
Car moves smoothly after starting it both forward and in reverse gear.
Mechanic is confused. After a while, he accused the gear.
Has anyone experienced this?

Good day gazzuzz, I have a Honda Pilot 2003, but the fuel consumption is out of this world. Yeah I know it should consume, but its out of this world.
A mechanic said the O2 sensor is bad and I replaced it and its still same thing.

Now I traveled to kaduna and another mechanic is saying its "INDOMIE" that is missing.

At this moment I don't know what to believe....
