Hi Gazzuz, the images below are my corolla 2010, I noticed the seeming crack /welding few days after it was bought. There's no check engine light, nor any light on the dashboard. However I average 40-42 miles per 1,000 of fuel, that is 6.89L which is way below. Using 26mpg combined, this 6.89L ought to give me 53miles.

Now I noticed from the VIN reports that the car had been reprogrammed in the US in 2017, before it was imported to Nigeria in 2019. This made me think the Catalyst was tampered in the US.
What could possibly be the reason for the seeming high fuel consumption and how can it be resolved.

Mobil 1 5w30 is 16k
But Mobil 2000 semi synthetic is 5k

Price difference is not really different from XHp. That's y many are going for it.
But I agree that blends are not fully transparent on content.
But some articles say they are better than mineral oils.

Bro, I usually dont come here to comment but I generally know you are an expert on cars. However, this your comment isnt entirely right. Any material scientist knows most cars are made of TRIP steel. These are steels that convert from Austenites to Martensites on impact. This also makes them generally not weldable as the materials change microstructure at the heat affected zones (except the welding is done under a carefully controlled process, which I wouldnt except from almost any welder in Nigeria). The chances of this vehicle killing someone just increased due to the welding work done on the car. I know Nigerians generally weld cars...but believe me, that contributes highly to the death rate during collisions.

In short, the welding and subsequent mechanical work done on this car just rendered it unsafe for use.

That thing is a breach in the security of the car. Any of those cut and join place might fail and increase chances of harm to the occupants. That frame isn't the right one for that design. Let's stop risking lives for a few extra bucks.

I have a 2010 Camry SE v4. My mechanic uses the Total Quartz 5000 SL (20W-50) oil. Is it a good oil?

Also, I currently use a 225/50R17 tire and I’m looking to change it to a bigger size so the vehicle doesn’t appear too low (I don’t want to raise it as suggested by mechanic). Please recommend tire sizes or should I stick to this one?Thank you.

The vehicle under upgrade is not Prado 2005 but Prado 2010 . If you check the back windscreen of the car under upgrade, it is different from 2005 Prado back windscreen. 2010 upgrade to 2018 Prado do not need any body panel beating.

Maybe the car had body issues before they brought it for upgrade.

Men, during the days of high testosterone , I removed the fan from 230E flat boot and installed it in a peugeot 504 S/W. I was feeling high and a big nwa. Everything was working fine, ac chilling, even my pupsy was seeing a mechanical engineer in his son.









Until one day(4days after) monkey go market, e no come back. In the middle of a hot sun in a terrible traffic, the wagon almost caught fire. Burnt smell, smoke, lo and behold, the fan don kpai.

If I have the means, I would patronize them.

My only concern is , in the event of a collision that would affect either fender badly, such would have to be custom made.

pls auto gurus....after I changed my timing belt I noticed that when I start my accord 2001 in the morning,the car vibrates badly but when I rev the engine and warm it up,it stabilize very well.If I don't warm it very well to stabilize and I put it in drive the car wud mkove as if it wants to go off because the rpm wud be low,when I warm it very well and put it in drive the car moves very well.pls what cud be d problem cos I can't just wake up in d morning and drive off without warming it very well.pls help me gurus

Its semi synthetic and the distributor is selling at a retail price of #5000
He claims the demand is growing because Mobil 1 is too expensive.
Does anyone know about this Mobil product in Nigeria.
It hasn't been discussed on NL.
