@ 860k you earn 71k per month.
If you use the vehicle to add to ur income (taxi or haulage) then the vehicle is an asset and a helper. But If you want to pose as a car owner it will be very tight. |

anukulapo: Finally, we have been able to establish that the ECU has gone bad. Now the baby news is that the ECU number label has been peeled half way so that I can't get the complete part number.
How possible is it to get the right replacement through the new engine number?
Please advice.
Thanks. gazzuzz, getam, pek, brainbox4u, jeeqer, ikenna351, cardoctor Sadly the stock Engine Ecu of a vehicle "always" comes with the label intact. This is not the ecu that came with the car.
If you install the right ECU, you will have to install the right engine. Long assignment ahead of you.
Post VIN, It Can be used to determine the right engine Ecu |

jarkbauer: Moderate traffic
My calculations is this
20 litres = 5.28 gallon.
40 miles /5.28 = 7.6 mpg
Isn't that low? Very low. You should do a proper tune up. |

pekk: Ok.thanks. but is there a way I can check if D drier is ok, while I ask D guy to check for leakages. All the same thanks again Use the UV dye method, leaks will be evident in the drain hose at the base of the car, and when checked from under the dashboard using Ultraviolet light. |

EllisAde: My ac hardly get cold these days even now that the westher is clement. They have asked me to refill but i dont want to take chances. Pls i need your professional touch. I use a corolla and reside in mushin, lagos. pekk: Bros Gazz, My AC tires me,initially D guy said no gas, we filled, it lasted 2weeks. Now he said bad drier again. A pipe sweats in D engine while D car is hot. Is true its drier? And how do I enjoy it again Thks leaks are very evident in both queries, they are easy to to spot using proper equipment.
UV dye: this is a leak detection method that involves the use of a dye that glows under UV light. Electronic sniffers: this equipment beeps when it detects refrigerant leaks, it has almost same principle with the metal detector.
Sectional Vacuuming: Vacuuming the system, and blocking off certain parts a bit at a time, can help rule out leaks it is a very efficient method.
Oil stains: Oil stains on joints and faulty parts, are a tell tale sign of refrigerant leaks. But not very efficient, as there can be Leaks without oil stains
Detergent bubbles: the application of bubbles over leaking pipes and joints will cause the bubbles to become larger or detergent to cause bubbles, thereby revealing leaks. Not a very efficient method because parts like the compressor shaft seal and other hidden parts cannot be tested with this method.

fidtopade: I have this issue that has been brodering me for some time now. That had made me to come up with this question 'when do you consider a car engine a Write Off'. Me as a person who has no deep knowledge about the workerbility of car engine and functions of most of the parts. I believe that when an engine go bad it won't be in its entirety, so the parts that goes bad can easily be change and the car come on road again. I have a car engine that got knocked some time last year, precisingly 2.4 Camry. Before it got knock, the red oil light came up but I didn't pay attention to it, when the car finally knock, I was asked to buy all the damaged parts which I did but after all said and done the oil light is still on. I took the car to another mechanic who strip the whole engine and still couple it back, the oil light still on. The block engine, I was told by both mechanic that its ok, the crackshaft, piston and rigs are all new. Now mechanics are telling me to buy a new engine but within me, I feel since the block engine and other major parts are ok, the error could just be from mechanics. Please, expert in the house advise me on the way to go. Oil pressure is reduced by a leak from the balance shafts/a lack of the balance shafts. Seen it too many times |
