Not like I have not tried to do something about the catalyst before actually, I discovered that it had been removed when I bought the car and I bought another one like three months ago just that after fixing the catalyst that my mechanic bought from ladipo the error was still there , though this issue of slow acceleration just started like a week ago

I drive a 2002 ford escape. I have been battling with a case of excessive hotness of my front right rim to a point that I feel a forcel drag affecting my acceleration and smell of a burning brake pad. My mechanic has checked the calipers and the hub, saying they are OK. He suspected the abs system, to which we temporary disconnected the abs wire but the front wheel still heats up with the drag and burning brake pad odour. We afterwards changed the brake bad to which the wheel still heats up and not as terrible as it was before the pad was replaced. Also, the drag is close to nil but the smell of the burning brake pad still persists. My mechanic is still suspecting the abs system.

Your opinions and advices are welcome sirs!

PS: No check engine light showed when the problem started till now except when we temporarily disconnected the abs when abs and hand brake light showed up. Also, after the brake pad replacement on both front wheels, the left side heats up to but not as excessive as that of the right wheel where the problem has been.

Hi everyone,

I noticed that my corolla sports 2011 is not as fast as it used to be, the only error I have there is p0420 which has always been there since I bought the car, also the engine runs fine when idling but just that when accelerating it's not so fast , I have had my mechanic clean the injectors,cleaned the air-filter and its same.. kindly advise with ideas on what could be wrong

possible causes of a sulfurous smell are a broken fuel pressure regulator and an engine that is running at too high of a temperature . If the fuel pressure regulator is the problem, it can easily be fixed with the installation of a new fuel filter.
If the smell is due to a problem with the car's converter, the converter itself cannot be repaired and has to be replaced.

Gazuzz raises the bar...I went to gazuzz for ac repair, I got that and more. He went the extramile to tune up my engine. I got my car washed, my engined washed and resprayed, that is what I call customer service per excellence. I usually take my time before going to gazuzz workshop because he would never cut corners to give u the best, hence u will be made to use the best available part at a cost, but is the cost incurred worth it..yes it is more than worth it, afterall whatever has value should be paid for. Meanwhile I want to use this opportunity to solicit for our home grown engineers, lets help them by paying the true value of their effort, they also have bills to pay. My Honda civic 2000 has 235000 on odometer and still run like new, the most impressive things about it is ac and better fuel economy.
So in a nutshell maintainance is the key not low mileage

Sorry for the delay.

Eventually got the engine fixed it was the oil pump that was bad but I got to know that my neighbours brother who has a shop in Ladipo actually inflated the cost of the engine.

In fact I was surprised, na was for people these days o.
Someone u think is helping you is actually, the one killing you.

They gave Me 30 days guaranteed signed in front of the association chairman.

The Hyundai isn't a freebie request.. I just wanted to know if you fixed that brand so I could bring to you for a check up and a quote to bring her back to her old self again.

She generally has no real problems, but I have been working out of Port Harcourt for over a year now and have barely driven her. In that time, being parked under the sun, the dash cracked up, my power Windows got bad, e.t.c... I just don't feel comfortable driving her around anymore.

I am looking for a good reliable mechanic that can fix her up real good without charging me Stallion Motors money.

Do you fix that brand? If not, then its cool.

Meanwhile, since i have your attention, I have an 05 Honda City that keeps having ignition issues. You can drive the car all day today without wahala, park it for 1 minute, return and kick it and would not even as much as cough. Leav it for like 1 hour, return and kick it again and it would just start. I know its not the batteries as I just changed them. I know its not the alternator as that one is working well. I know its not the kick started as I also just recently changed em. I was told by Honda place a while back to change a 'gear cable' which I did but the problem still persists.. Sometimes I have to move the gear to neutral for the engine to start. Other times, that trick does not work.

Any advise? Free one o!!



AT topic:: Mechanic na Mechanic.. But I prefer to go with educated mechanics with established garages because their repairs comes with a 3 - 6 months warranty and if the problem persists, I can always go back to them to fix it free of cost.

I ran a VIN Check on a car, and I observed that the odometer reading from the check was different from what I physically saw on the car, meaning that it was rolled back greatly. Please, is it anything I should worry about, as I'm about to pay for the car.
