Never thought it could happen in practice that temperature gauge would remain flat on C in spite of engine work, the stock single cell radiators and all. Wow, that's sick!

Btw, I become paranoid whenever I hear any 'kazeem' use the word switch. It's my opinion that not everything they call 'switch' is actually a switch. Based on what i've observed, they often use the word as a vague description for specific car parts, the proper names of which may not even be in general use.

I know we put in a can and half (estimated) of harp gas in the system after replacing the compressor two months ago.
is it overcharged?

my system calls for 550 grams of gas and a can of harp gas weighs 340 grams.
I plan to evacuate the whole gas and use a weighing scale to weigh the gas I put in next time.
will schedule a meeting with piyke to use him vacuum pump before that though.

believe that the battery in the boot is it the service battery ?? if that starts to fail or not hold its charge very well it can give all kinds of electrical problems. just saying

A couple reasons. With the complexity of today's car
engines the engine compartment can get pretty
crouded.......
1. Save space in the engine compartment.

2 it is cooler in the trunk of the car. Cooler temps can help
prolong the battery life.

3. If the car is a rear wheel drive
vehicle, the extra weight in the back of the car can help
with traction.

4. On some vehicles they have the battery
under the rear seat i.e. BMW, which does this for weight
distribution purposes and helps cornering abilities.

Please I need your expertise advice. I recently got this Naija used 2004 EOD V4; while trying to check the gear oil level, my mech said its still okay after dipping the dip stick in and out, but a friend of mine later said the Mech checked it wrongly, he (my friend) then checked by putting the gear on NEUTRAL while the ENGINE STILL RUNNING; the result showed that the ATF is very low on the dip stick.

Am kind of confused which who is actually right. please enlighten me.

A Coil pack distributor or whatever it is connected to can be checked for damage and resistance.

Remember this is from a 17 years old technology

My Chief, I suspect that 'switch' is your THERMOSTAT.
When he removed it, the fan worked... Meaning he's removed the regulatory function of the thermostat. Your fans will now be working right from the moment you turn your ignition on. That's never good for your fuel economy!
Gazzuzz had pointed this out in his very first response and re-emphasized by quoting himself. He is probably right. Do as he advised.
Meanwhile: While a diagnostic scan may reveal other possible troubles with the car, i'm not sure it will show you anything concerning a removed thermostat. Could anyone in the house with broader scan-tool experience kindly comment on this too?

I have a local rewire kazeem checked it today, He remove a switch somewhere around the engine and the fan rotate , when he plug the switch back the fan stop working, he's conclusion was that I should change the switch ... Tho I don't trust him so I think[b] I'm getting the car scan[/b] to know what exactly is wrong ... PS, the car is really consuming fuel ...

Your thermostat has been removed. Re-install it.

A 2000 camry uses coils so there is no plug cable to be replaced, check to make sure electrical connection to coil and injector I is good.

Swap coils to check if code follows the coil

No sir, the temp gauge is always below the half mark but what I observed is that when I put on the AC the temp mark drop down like it's coming to zero and that make the car consume more fuel

@gazzuz i drive a nissan almera 1999. D ac used to work perfectly since i bought it until some days ago, i put on d ac and ut hooks d engine till it goes off.. I noticed if i put it on nd d compressor tries to roll, it makes d engine stop thru stopping d fan belt.. Then i tried to check d gas pipe, pining it with an object to check there was gas there, to my surprise a black watery substance was coming out.. My kazeem says i need a new compressor.. Finally changed d compressor and dryer reciever..it worked well for some days.. But today it started giving inconsistent temperature.. Sometimes cool sometimes hot. You knoe normally when the ac is running the compressor goes on and off..but this time, instead of the Compressor to go on and off consistently nd effectively, the compressor goes off for an unsually long time, making it blow warm air.. It can now come on later o, after a long while.. Which is not meant to b..it happens mostly during the hot weather, altho it happens sumtyms too wen cool..pls help nd advice

Please, make sure a car is in "proper" working condition before you pay for it. Get a good Auto-Mech that knows what he is doing, has a machine for proper diagnostics and a checklist for records and report.

Is your vehicle equipped with "functional" air conditioning? If yes turn it on and check if fan spins, if it spins, turn the a.c off, get a plastic chair and a newspaper, or better still scroll thru other interesting sections on Cartalk as you glance at the temp needle to ensure its not overheating and wait for the fans to spin.

If fans spin Alhamdulillah! If vehicle begins to overheat you have a problem so call the guy above.

Oil leak: in the engine bay you have powersteerning oil, transmission oil(automatic) gear oil(manual). On the suspension you have grease, and transaxle oil.

I would suggest you tell us what colour of oil is leaking and the source.

For the Oil leak source I will recommend the agbada theory nurey postulated a new method which I feel is more effective

i have a consistent P0304 and P0300 code
i have changed the sparkplug on cylinder 4
i have change the spark plug cable on cylinder 4 yet it stil keep coming back after clearing the code

anybody with a way out to this
