I just got a Used toyota Corolla 2006 Model 1.8L V4 Manual Gear.
I want to share the major problems I have observed with the car. I'm doing this so that I can know the next thing to do.

1. Car vibrating in Reverse gear (owner claimed it's clutch disk fault)

2. Unlike my official Hilux, this car doesnt pick fast at gear 1. I have to rev a bit or pay extra attention to the clutching.

3. The temperature guage on the dashboard is not working.

Kindly shed more light on this.

Just around the 1/4 of the tank, from what my eyes can see, it seems low but there is no calibration in the reservoir to know the required level.

Should I go ahead to top-up?

I dont know if its my browser but none of the link you posted above is opening.

My 206 was flashing the brake failure light warning light at the dashboard with the Stop! sign. I cleared and checked for any possible fault including the hydraulic fluid but couldn't find any. I drove off cautiously and the light didn't show.

5 minutes later, it flashed again, beeped 3 times and went off as I was about to clear off the road. It continued like this, intermittently, until I got to my workplace.

I am considering taking it to a mechanic but don't know exactly what to tell him to lookout for.

Kindly assist.

My steering rack failed causing the pump to become stiff.i had the rack rebuilt and reinstalled after which an allignment was done.


Whilst doing the allignment,they had the steering removed and readjusted,he said he wants to make the wheels allign and be straight.however, after this i realised My steering was no longer locking after i switch off the engine.i asked why that was and he said its because they loosened the steering and that it will reset itself and continue to lock after i turn off the ignitìon and turn the steering for it to be locked.


My questions are;

Should i be bothered because its yet to be reset as advised?
Hope it will not lock whilst am driving?
