tosin2013: Wow gbawe! At this stage u will make these guys think ur a party agent grin
Anyway d point is although APC guys are no saints, they are FAR BETA than d crooks from d umbrella party! angry angry angry

My pdp brothers, truth is bitter but learn to swallow it!
One million gbosas to you. That is exactly my point. Anyone can think me a Party agent but I do not care. I will take the progress being seen and felt ahead of what any anonymous haters, in most cases not even from the SW, think of me. I tend to ignore all the haters and liars, but as El Rufai opined, one is compelled to speak now and then so that lies, repeated many times, do not begin to resemble the truth. This is especially important when dealing with ignorant folks who will rather let a tractor crush their leg than read or do research to conquer ignorance. The reading culture of Nigerians today is terrible.

This is why any charlatan can come here to lie and 'herd' Nairalander to whip them into mob frenzy like an 'ALUU crowd'. Let the liars come and spin what is being revealed here since they like telling the World "Amosun has done nothing" to justify their blind, often bigoted and clannish support for a man who is leading a Party disappointing Nigerians in many, many States of Nigeria. By conning the ignorant, averse to reading, with lies that "all Parties are the same" they justify their plea that "we may as well remain with the PDP ". Simple 419 citizens of politically sophisticated Nations will not fall for, since they can read and do research for themselves, yet the perfect con to deploy against Nigerians.

5 APCs arrive the Governor's office today from Alpine Armour Incorporation, USA, an armoured security vehicle company which manufactures Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC). The APCs brought in by the SIA led administration is the PIT BULL VX same as those used by the USA SWAT team. Another first of its kind in Nigeria....the Gateway State sets the pace again!
PoliticsRe: Don’t Lie, Ogun Has No Free Health Services, Doctors Tell Gov. Amosun by Gbawe: 6:10pm On Jun 24, 2013
These were the modern APCs supplied by Amosun when he directly took over the duty of the FG to commendation of police bosses throughout Nigeria. Let it be noted that Amosun is not flying around in Private jet when 'oga pata pata' GEJ insist on a ten airplane Presidential fleet gulping money while the FG he leads can neglect their duty and obligations to the NPF to the extent Amosun felt compelled to act and keep his State safe. This was why police bosses, with no time to play politics, were effusive in their praise of Amosun.

Security on the AGENDA......SIA noni

Amosun: Championing the cause of security in Ogun

Inundated by complaints of insecurity arising from robbery, Amosun became undaunted to make a difference. He immediately began a campaign against robbery in the state. As it to weed off robbers from his administration, Amosun in a jiffy initiated the Ogun State Security Trust Fund (OGSSTF), called on stakeholders in the state to join hands together in order to chase out robbers in the state, believing that, it is our collective responsibility to tackle the menace.

In line with this resolve to invest heavily on the provision of security, Governor Amosun had procured and donated 15 state-of-the-art-Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) which were adjudged by the security experts in the country as the first of its kind in the whole West Africa, 130 Hilux patrol vans, 1700AK riffles, three million round of ammunition, 600 bullet proof jackets and 600 walkie-talkie among other things to the police in the State.

Apparently, the commissioning of the equipment in the state, witnessed by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Muhammad Abubakar, had while receiving the donations from Governor Amosun, said that the gesture was unparalleled.

In addition, the giant strides of Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the provision of adequate security for the citizenry in Ogun State have received another international recognition with the award of the Best Security Conscious Governor in West Africa bestowed on him.

At the colorful event which took place at the Conference Hall of the La Palm Beach Resort in the high brow area of Accra, the Capital city of Ghana, Governor Amosun, amidst loud applause, was accorded the highest security recognition for his unprecedented feat in securing lives and properties in the State.

The governor’s accomplishment in restoring security to Ogun State, which before May 29, 2011 was the haven for robbers and hoodlums, resulting in the near collapse of business activities in the state, evoked a deafening ovation when he rose up to received the award at the Ninth Edition of the Security Watch Africa Annual Award.

How many know that Amosun inaugurated a comprehensive Bus rapid transport scheme, in 2012, for Ogun state? Anyone not willing to read, conquer ignorance and gain real perspective can continue allowing Bigots and PDP apologists to come here and lie to them with fabrications against ACN governors delivered so that the messiah they worship and his "nest of killers" Party can remain in power regressing most corners of Nigeria. They know that if you repeatedly shout at a man that A is B, then that man may be brainwashed in the end to agree. Those who make the effort to conquer ignorance know that ACN administrators, while not perfect, are delivering a million times better than the wasters they replaced. Those who wish to persevere with the PDP can do so but enough of lies on this forum against ACN administrators.

Amosun, during his election campaign, promised 100 transformers to boost rural electrification. 500 brand new ones were delivered !!! It is clear why real stakeholders are passionate about ACN administrator while liars and haters remain on the net shouting "they are all the same" to justify how they have all blindly chosen to lie for the PDP because of the clannish support for GEJ that means they feel obligated to defend anything/anyone he is affiliated with.

Only bigots, disgruntled elements and mentally troubled individuals will deny that ACN administrators are working in ways that totally disgrace the very poor effort of the PDP crooks they replaced. No SW State is paradise but we should all back genuine efforts going on currently and criticise constructively. Lying should not be an option for decent folks. It gets us nowhere. below are the transformers. Some stakeholder comments captured as well.

Amosu promised free health care for elderly and toddlers only. And the state of health facilities in Ogun is just like everywhere in Nigeria

The pdp roaches have permanently camped on this thread and spinning the story to suit them
Don't mind the hateful liars. It is construction everywhere. Building new, more modern and more efficient infrastructure is a model of development most PDP administrators reject because it leaves little to embezzle and share amongst 'awon boyz'. This far more expansive and cash-intensive approach is what ACN administrators are utilising. Can anyone deny the existence of the brand new and modern health centres being built? Can they deny the renovation of old ones? Can they deny, for example, what is shown below is the right approach i.e 4 modern mechanic workshop built brand new and from scratch in Ewekoro LGA:

Below, is what many Ogun doctors themselves will admit they have not seen prior to Amosun coming. I.e a brand new health centres to be built in all conbstituencies as a modern model to replace what the PDP Government for the past 8 years agreed was good enough for Ogun State Doctors and it's people. No sane person will say Nigerian States do not have issues but we can all do basic research to see those really doing transformational things so that creatures of hate, like the OP, dont take advantage of how many do not like to read to spread their message of hate against others. I would like to know how many Governors are embracing the expensive approach we see typified by what is shown below.

I don't care who is lying. It does not matter whether it is the news source or the quoted doctor. What is important is to show that Amosun never promised free healthcare. Free health care is only for children under 5 and adults over 70. When you work out the percentage of the population that applies to, in relation to all the inhabitants of Ogun State, then come back and speak.
PoliticsRe: Don’t Lie, Ogun Has No Free Health Services, Doctors Tell Gov. Amosun by Gbawe:
Chubhie: Seems people are waking up and seeing through the illusionary blind of ACN|Politricians. Untill the day Nigerians understand the extent to which politicians have duped the very masses who elected them and arise in unity of purpose beyond tribe, religion and creed i will continue to see events as comedy in 5D.
My guy, I don't know you here but I would hope you are not one of the haters unable to give credit where due and always looking for negatives about others to justify the rigid position of negativity you have taken against them. It is no longer "propaganda" or "talk". ACN governors are really delivering the goods everyone can see and feel.

In a nation like ours, and typified by the mindless hatred we see here daily, it is normal to see folks cutting their nose to spite their face. I.e failing to hail development because it comes from people who are in the "wrong" Party, "wrong" ethnic-group or practitioners of the "wrong" religion.

Amidst all that, the most intelligent and refined in society will still see what is crucially important. These doctors should approach the Governor with genuine grouse because Amosun is not god and he will benefit from inspecting their objective criticism. Nonetheless, there is no decent Doctor who will not admit that Amosun is doing well in efforts aimed at addressing what was met on the ground.

We are not talking excuses as Gbenga Daniels and most PDP administrators know how to deliver. We are dealing with real tangibles here being achieved with brick, mortar and cash spent on the needs of the people. Below are pictures of Primary health care centres constructed as models of what will be the standard in all 20 LGA's of the State.

The doctors, especially those over 60, should tell us when they have ever witnessed this sort of revolutionary and very expensive 'from the ground up' approach in Ogun State and the SW in general. Ogun doctors should simply partner with Amosun so that deficits are addressed to the benefit of the State. Genuinely neutral and objective observers will know that the man is trying especially in terms of newly built modern infrastructure when previous administrators had always told doctors point blank that there was no money available to build the upgraded modern healthcare centres they are demanding.

How many times have we seen administrators in Nigeria embrace the much harder course of building brand new and modern infrastructure that cost more money and leave less to be embezzled? Does it not make sense, if ACN administrators are the "illusionist" you claim they are, for these guys to just 'patch' what is on ground already (as many administrators in Nigeria are doing currently) and pocket majority of accrued allocation? Why are they spending money on the people and embracing a costly path that leaves them with little to embezzle if their sole mission is to 'deceive' you? Why don't they just take all the money and give absolutely nada as previous PDP Governors did in the SW with impunity?

This is Ogun State's definition of what a modern Primary Health Care Centre should be. This will be replicated in all the 20 LGAs in Ogun State with a pilot scheme starting in each of the 3 senatorial districts. This is the picture of the one located in Ogun Central, Abeokuta North LGA. Mission to rebuild on course

Nairaland. The land of functional illiterates. That in itself would not be bad if said illiterates were also not ignorant haters averse to basic research. Amosun has never promised "free healthcare" and I don't know why sadists are jubilating over the lies of either the doctors or the news source. There is no 'meat' for you sad scavengers here. Free health care services will be provided to children below 5 years and senior citizens above 70 years. We shall bring health care closer to the people by adopting community based approach with focus on establishment, equipping and staffing of primary health care centers in each of the 236 wards in the State.

My brother, the way many Nigerians are now casually hateful towards others is worrying. This is why Senator Chukwumerije, the Chairman of the Senate committee on education, asked all Nigerian leaders to "drop their ego" and learn from Aregbesola. The man knows Nigerians to understand many are consumed with bad belle, bad mind and the egotistic pettiness of never giving credit where due let alone be humble enough to learn from others. How many know that Aregbesola, in the tiny State of Osun, provides for over half of the total population of all children eating nutritious school meals in Nigeria?

Aregbesola fights poverty with O’Meal, (‘Ounje Aregbe’)

Posted by: Seun Akioye

https://www.osundefender.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/aregbe-omeal.jpg
There were grim statistics for Nigeria from the recently released “State of School Feeding Worldwide Report”, compiled by the World Food Programme (WFP).

The report, launched at the United Nations headquarters in New York, indicated that only one out of five school children get a healthy school meal in developing countries. The report also presented a gloomy picture of Nigeria’s school feeding programme highlighting that less than 500,000 school children get a decent meal in school. In that report, Nigeria and Cameroon shared the ignoble position of coming last.

In 2004, Nigeria began a pilot project of Home Grown School Feeding and Health Programme (HGSFHP) which was part of the Universal Basic Education Programme. It was designed to feed pupils in elementary public schools. But out of the 13 states that participated in the programme, only one state remained committed to the continued implementation and improvement of the project: The state is Osun.

The state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been developing a simple theory with his re-organised school feeding programme in the state. For him, providing nutritious and healthy meals in schools has a direct link to mental development and the eradication of poverty.

Therefore when in April 2012, he decided to review the school feeding programme with a bigger and better menu, he targeted not just the children but also the farmers in the state. The Osun Elementary School Feeding and Health Programme (O’Meals), which was the result of the new thinking in the state has since surpassed most of its main objectives.
One of the cardinal points of O’Meals is to increase enrollment and retention of school children in state primary schools.

Within four weeks of the commencement of the programme however, school enrollment has jumped about 25 per cent in government primary schools. By June 30, 2012, enrollment increased from 155,318,000 to 194,253 from primaries 1-3.
Basking in the euphoria of this success, the state government promptly widened the scope and included primary 4 in the scheme. The state now feeds a total of 252,793,000 students daily at the annual cost of N3billion. From the report of the WFP, Osun State accounts for more than half of the total number of children getting healthy and nutritious school meals in Nigeria.

The operation officer of O’meal, Mrs. Bunmi Ayoola, said the programme has achieved and surpassed its objectives of increasing school enrollment in the state. She said the government also ensures that the food is prepared in a healthy and neat environment.

“Balanced diet helps in developing the brain’s capacity as well as cognitive response index of each child and it plays a major role in ensuring that children assimilate learning instructions fast and well,’’ she said.
Fighting poverty and increasing enterprise
But increased enrollment was not the only intention of the Osun State government; reduction of poverty and boosting small and medium scale enterprise were also key points in the school feeding programme. According to the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, the rebirth of the school feeding programme has had a positive impact on farmers.

“As part of six points integral action plan of the state government to banish hunger, create employment and education for all; the school feeding programme has increased the enrollment of the pupils by 25 per cent within the two weeks of re-introduction, allowed farmers to engage in massive food production and encouraged learning in primary schools. Let me tell you that 80 per cent of food production by the farmers in the State will be used for feeding of our kids in the programme”.

The deputy governor revealed that over 900 cocoyam farmers have been empowered by the government.
“In order to ensure that the programme is sustained, we have encouraged our farmers to go into massive production of fish and chicken with which to feed the pupils. We have also directed our farmers to go into massive production of plantain, banana and very soon we are thinking on the possibility of going into massive production of rice and establish rice mills across the state to encourage our farmers,” she said.

More than 3,000 women in the state have also been empowered to serve as the food vendors. The vendors are well kitted with modern cooking utensils and bowls at the cost of N152 million to the state government. One of the vendors, Mrs. Esther Ogundipe said the programme has empowered her family. “Aregbesola has added value to my life; I am no more a housewife,’’ she said.

Today, according to the state government, 15,000 whole chickens are sourced weekly from local poultry farmers; 254,000 eggs sourced weekly; 35 heads of cattle purchased weekly from local cattle farmers and 400 tonnes of catfish purchased weekly from local fish farmers.

Even though some have criticised the enormous cost of the programme, the WFP said even in developed country, the amount spent by government on school meals is a worthy investment for the future.
“This will help raise healthy adults for the future, it is a worthy investment by any government,” the world body said.
At mid-day on any school day, the bell rang; food vendors immaculately dressed began to make preparations for the feeding of their wards. All across the state, the same process is repeated at every primary school. Meals like Yam Porridge, bread soaked in a steaming red stew with chicken to garnish, beans porridge and vegetables, all complemented with fruits were handed over to 250,000 children. In Osun schools, time for break means time for “Ounje Aregbe.”

It is like football. Every fan wants to tell the manager the 11 players he should field. Yet it is the manager who must make the final choice. Real fans who believe in their team ,beyond frivolity, simply get behind the 11 players a competent manager picks and support them to go on and win.

dexter1983: AFTER REGISRAION OF APC,PDP GO HEAR WEEEEEN...
I think many are simply underestimating the goodwill the APC will garner home and abroad. The entire world is fed up of the PDP and how it is ensuring Nigeria is a hopeless basket case rather than a symbol of hope for the black race. Well, it will be a pleasure to see some clannish elements learn the hard way.

The desperate lust for change, plus the sentimental nature of Nigerians, was the main factor working in favour of GEJ the last time. He enjoyed worldwide goodwill because of how the entire world deemed him to be a departure from the past. Now it is crystal clear he is a poster child for corrupt elements who have had their time and now need a proxy 'tool' to ensure 'business as usual' continues. This is why GEJ has come in for scathing universal condemnation over the blatantly rampant nature of corruption in Nigeria under his watch.

I still cannot see GEJ getting the PDP ticket but even better for the APC if he does because the advantages that propelled him to Aso Rock are now missing. Totally gone !!! He is no longer seen as change, "fresh air" or transformation. The APC will have the privilege of hosting many, many intelligent, articulate, charismatic and credible people on its platform selling the vision to Nigerians and the World. No long thing. Let the games begin. I will certainly play my part cool cool

jjcbuthot: It doesnt work this way. The opposition will lose all its credibility and worth if they have to go to PDP for a presidential candidate. It has never happened anywhere in the world where opposition would go to the incumbent party for its presidential candidate. Yes, for other national appointments, you can consider credible people across the country regardless of their political affiliation.

And why Tambuwa? Because he is supporting the opposition? This is not enough to make a man a presidential material. Tell me landmark legislation that have been delivered in the house so far? Tell me what happened to the house probe of fuel subsidy? The scandal that happened and how the house has handled this.

Buhari/Fashola is the answer if we really want to see a different approach to governance.
Correct. I think Tambuwal is just a maverick politician. Naturally, that does not sit well with members of the "nest of killers" who are mainly uncouth elements insistent on blind loyalty to the cause. Tambuwal won't offer that so they make a big deal of this by insinuating the APC are planning to give him their Presidential ticket never mind the patent senselessness of that idea.

TouchDown: Look southerners in nigerian politics have inferiority complex. Why can't they hound Tambuwal like they've been hounding Amaechi?

At least OBJ was able to regularly spar with IBB and cut influential Atiku to size. The north were as vocal in criticizing obj as they are now against Jonathan. Jonathan's complex is such that he can only attack/bully his own people. Amaechi, Ibori, Silva etc.

Lol, Jonathan and the pdp should deal with Tambuwal na.
Look at how quickly they recalled Wamakko after he even insulted Bamanga Tukur and, by extension, GEJ. Wamakko openly called Tukur a political pr0st1tute. Yet the PDP bent over backward to go and beg him. Laughable.

@Topic.

Personally, I think Nigeria needs more politicians like Tambuwal. I.e those able to rise above partisanship when it matters and when honesty and integrity, in the greater interest of society, is required. This is why I first became a huge fan of Ribadu and El Rufai. Little known is that both men, while still working for OBJ and by extension the PDP, showed up at a political rally to support the governorship ambition of Comrade Oshiomhole.

They both made definitive statements at the event to indicate that they defied Partisan loyalty to show up and support Oshiomhole because his leadership qualities and appeal transcends Party and sectional affiliation. They felt Oshiomhole represented one of the leaders all Nigerians should support. From then on, I saw those two as sophisticated individuals committed to the progress of Nigeria. Same holds for Tambuwal.

These GEJ fans are an embarrassment. All of them are uncouth and hateful agberos. Also, have you noticed how virtually all GEJ supporters here have a very rigid for-us-or-against-us mentality? I.e the sort that would predispose them to hating Tambuwal passionately because he does not appear azz-lickingly and openly pro-GEJ ?

eGuerrilla: @Gbawe,

Depending on what our working definition is, I think it is possible to sustain an argument, as @mikeansy canvassed, that none of the political parties in Nigeria have an ideology. The notable examples he provided negate "self identification", which is a defining attribute of any political ideology.

In the current age, I suspect there are probably only a handful of ideologically-driven, mainstream political parties left in the world.
No. Not really. Because that is an abstract and subjective submission seeking to infer that insincere conduct is the same as the literal absence of ideological guidelines expressing how Parties should operate.

The fact is that Nigerian Political Parties have core ideology they have publicly made us aware of. That they do not operate according to their stipulated ideology is not enough reason to pronounce them as having no ideology. It is the same as the oft-repeated utterance that Nigerian Parties have no manifesto. This is also not true.

It would be more appropriate to argue that Nigerian Political Parties have scant regard for their ideology and manifesto rather than use abstraction and allegory to conclude such do not exist. Political Parties are institutions that will ordinarily outlast members who will vary in sophistication, sincerity and even a basic understanding of Partisan politics.

Today, we may have many politicians disinterested in leading according to the core ideology of their Party. Tomorrow we may gain a cadre of politician who will act according to the ideology of their Party. Would it then be appropriate to argue that those Parties now have ideology, because of the correct conduct of members, or is it right to think that the Party, i.e the institution greater than its members, does indeed have core ideology that is now being respected and utilised?

mikeansy: Please enlighten us on how the trickle down economic policies practiced by Fashola in Lagos is the same as the economic policies in Edo State?

Show similarities on how the tax and spend policies of Fashola is the same as those of Rauf Aregbesola.

Trust me other political parts have claims of their political beliefs on their website too.

But do the followers and policy makers at various levels of Government practice any of it?
Look, this does not put you in a good light. You should not have said no Nigerian Party has core philosophy because it is wrong to say that !!! You should however move on from that false assertion, once it is proven you are wrong, so discussion can go on regarding the topic. Simply refusing to accept this will lead to what you are doing now which is regrettable in my opinion.

Arguing that Fashola and Oshiomhole are deploying different administrative philosophy does not justify your false assertion that their Party has no philosophy. That is a separate thing entirely. Is it right to say traffic Laws do not exist just because people won't obey them?
