This is the most important message of all:

Consequently, focusing indignation on Western media and not at Aso Rock and those in Abuja who continually demean and degrade Nigerian lives is naïve and does great disservice to the victims of Baga. Because unless we collectively and continuously focus our just and righteous rage at Abuja and root our analysis and critique against the Nigerian government who have allowed the spread of this scourge, the killings and massacres will only continue with impunity."

I wonder OOOOOhh !!!!!! The PDP has failed to correctly read a very basic aspect of human behaviour which may have helped the Party to reach Nigerians better. When you wrong or disappoint people who risked a lot to place their faith and lives in your hand then you must humbly show regret and contrition, backed with a sincere will to make amends, if you are to ever win the approval or trust of those people.

The PDP has let Nigerians down badly. Instead of the leaders of the Party to show humility and a readiness to accept what they did wrong and show they see what must be corrected, the very evil and unrepentant PDP has exclusively focused on arrogantly attacking GMB and running a campaign of calumny and character assassination of a candidate (GMB) and his Party (APC) that has zilch to do with the serious problems Nigeria is facing today. If it is not a silly certificate distraction that disgraces Nigeria universally, given that Buhari is a decorated soldier that has contested the Presidential election thrice, they are lying wickedly that Buhari is unwell. Disgusting. This is behavioral human psychology 101 and I am shocked the PDP does not have leaders bright enough to fathom this concept and how much it can hurt the chances of the Party at the polls !!!

The arrogant and unrepentant PDP has now killed itself by not recognising that even the most prodigal of sons can be forgiven if he shows genuine remorse for his actions. What has turned Nigerians off is how a Party that has caused so much deaths, poverty and pain remains so arrogantly disinterested in respecting the people. PDP leaders, because looting our treasury is all they are after, still do not understand that they must deploy an approach centred around placating the ordinary men and women they failed. The approach of making Buhari appear unelectable has backfired horribly . More Nigerians now feel the arrogant PDP is an evil, callous and unrepentant Party with nothing to offer. Buhari has profited massively from this wicked and evil approach of a ruling Party that has failed the people and has no business showing nothing other than complete humility before the Nigerian people.

Wow !!!! Even the most die-hard GEJ fan will admit, at this stage, that Jonathan and the PDP may face annihilation at the polls. As at when I visited the site and voted a few minutes ago the results were GMB 44, 643 and GEJ 4,891. It is not a misprint people . Buhari is leading GEJ by almost 40.000 votes. Even I did not expect this stupendously large margin which probably confirms that the negative and vicious campaign of the PDP, when the PArty had asked for "issue-based campaign from APC, has turned many Nigerians off GEJ and the PDP completely.

Sentiment aside sir so you mean 75% of oil when awarded to northerner was legitimately done. What is good for them is also good for the rest of Nigeria.
Even indulging you for a minute, do you now suggest GEJ is the 'Robin Hood' of the SS who is completely allowed to rob the rich elite , i.e the North in your opinion, and bestow the stolen wealth on the poor /downtrodden i.e the SS according to you? Everything GEJ is doing is fair and justified because of your claim against the North which, in reality, is accusation affecting a small number of self-serving folks whose action does not speak for or represent the North?

Thank you for confirming that you see the Presidency as a tool of ethnic vengeance and a tool for 'settling scores'. With the way you guys are talking and with all that has transpired, can you make a legitimate argument for producing the President of Nigeria now or in the future given that you think it is justifiable for the masses (the real victim of the theft and corruption of GEJ) to suffer just so the SS can get even with some elite from the North who did what they did for themselves alone?

Now that GEJ is 'settling scores' for you guys, are you and ordinary folks of the SS personally better off or is it exactly the usual elite-driven aggrandizement of a small number of people same as obtained with the corrupt and self-serving actions of the Northerners you condemn? Are Tompolo, Asari-Dokubo, Allison-Madueke, General Boyloaf, Orubebe etal sharing their 'loot' with you? Have you even gotten a single small and well-equipped health care centre out of any of them? What of the NDDC (Niger Delta Development Commission) that chose to loot your wealth instead of using it to develop the SS as directed? What has the unpatriotic actions of those "sons of the soil" who lead the NDDC got to do with the North? You are willing to support this injustice against your own people and the underdevelopment of your region because of your perception GEJ is looting what "belongs to the SS" tat others should be deprived of? Continue letting vainglorious desire for vengeance you do not benefit from poison your heart and blind you to the obvious which is that Nigeria just needs a President, wherever he is from, who will passionately work for and be on the side of all Nigerians wherever they may come from.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan And His Government Steal 400,000 Barrels Of Oil Daily - Tinubu by Gbawe:
Sentiments aside, we all know Jonathan is the biggest enabler of theft and monumental corruption in the petroleum sector. He hands over pipeline protection contract to militants who are nothing but glorified oil thieves and then completely binned the Ribadu petroleum task force report which gave solid and urgent recommendation aimed at stemming the theft, income loss and corruption in the petroleum sector.

Jonathan also directly handed marketers licence to scammers with no capacity or expertise to engage in oil importation. This was what led to the over-invoicing scam which gave rise to the biggest fuel subsidy fraud in the history of Nigeria !!! Under GEJ, the NNPC which was always corrupt is now probably best described as an organisation of brazen armed robbers making billions of dollars disappear like the best 'abracadabra' trick. Tinubu is being conservative in his accusation against GEJ. The truth, supported by many direct evidence, is that GEJ is brazen corruption and irresponsible theft personified. Nigeria will see a world of difference once this terrible and accidental leader is voted out.

You and others who think like you are just fooling yourselves and other gullible folks. Every Nigerian has the fundamental right to vote and be voted for. If Buhari wins he will be President and it is as simple as that. Many did not want Fayose to lead Ekiti but upright and fair folks conceded democratically that he is the choice of the people. Fayose is now Governor of Ekiti in a tacit illustration of the beauty of democracy.

Fair-minded and genuinely democratic men and women know that democracy is not something you subscribe to partially, in support of a personal interest, only to then reject when you dislike a candidate unreasonably. Same way you hate Buhari and speak based on your own personal bias is how many are vehement he must be President. This is why we must all go to the polls, cast our votes and submit ourselves to the electoral will of the majority.

Seeing this brings to my mind the saying "the only thing constant in life is change". Only four years ago Nollywood big names were all behind behind GEJ unanimously. Buhari was totally shunned back then by Nollywood and our musicians. Today the reality is very different. I believe our entertainers, like most Nigerians, are no longer interested in GEJ because their lives have gone backwards under him. This is the truth and reality TANdroids cannot spin with their bogus tales of "achievements" no one can see or feel.

Nigerians from all sectors, including many who had campaigned for GEJ in 2011, are now coming out to fight for Febuhari change because their lives has been filled with pain, disappointment, death, deprivation and suffering for the past four years. Security na pafuka. Electricity = privatisation 419. Nigerians now dying like chickens with the world totally disinterested. Corruption is now 'lord and master' competing for territory with Boklo Haram. In short it is "Nigeria jaga jaga" under GEJ. It is normal to seek a change of such a horrid status quo.

Abiola Ajimobi.

His university education was in the United States of America. He studied Business Administration and Finance at the State University New York, in Buffalo, New York graduating with a Bachelors of Science. His MBA was in Operations Research and Marketing with a concentration in Finance at the Governor’s State University, Park Forest, Illinois. As a result of his academic credentials and excellent performance at the New York Insurance examinations, he was engaged in Buffalo, New York as a state certified underwriter, by Equitable Life Assurance Corporation, which was then the 2nd largest Insurance Company in America.[4]

Professional career[edit]
He returned to Nigeria in 1977 and joined Management and Industrial Consulting firm as a Senior Consultant. He thereafter worked briefly with Modulor Group (an architectural firm) as the Finance and Admin Controller, before joining Nestle Foods PLC. as the Operations Controller and later as Marketing Controller. In 1979, he joined National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company as the Consumer Products Manager. He was the youngest Manager to occupy such a sensitive position. His performance quickly earned him promotion to the level of Divisional Manager within one and a half years. Thus becoming the youngest Divisional Manager to be thus appointed.

He was later promoted to head a newly created Corporate Credit division reporting directly to the Managing director. As a top flyer in the company and based on his problem solving ability he was deployed to Ibadan Business District as the Area Manager to ensure the repositioning of the company's entire activities in the area. The Company and the district experienced landmark achievements in its modern retail network resulting. In 1987 he built the company’s first 3 in 1 and the largest petrol station retail outlet in Nigeria. The district office built during his tenure still stands out today in Jericho, Ibadan.

In 1987, based on a worldwide international strategic positioning of the lubricants business desired by Shell International Oil Company, he was appointed the Lubricants Manager. He successfully built a new Lubricant division which became the most profitable business of the company and the largest contributor to the corporate profit. Having completed the strategic repositioning of the Lubricants department, he was moved to manage another troubled business arm- the aviation department. By 1993, he had acquired broad exposure in virtually all the marketing arms of the company. As part of the grooming programme he was posted on an international assignment to Shell International storage company of Togo, serving the whole of West Africa as Chief Executive. He also was the Operations Director of Shell Marketing Company in Togo covering some West African countries.

He returned to Nigeria in 1995 and was appointed in 1996 as Oil Sales Manager in 1998. He was appointed to the board of the company as Executive director- Marketing, a position he held before his appointment on February 2001, as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company. As Managing Director he substantially improved the profitability of the company and the shareholders fortune. In 2003, he voluntarily retired after 26 years of service in the Oil industry.

In his successful professional career spanning a period of over three decades, Abiola Ajimobi was quick witted and positively impacted on the businesses and people he interacted with.[4]

Buhari made the promise during his campaign in Lokoja on Friday.

He said he would resuscitate the company which had been out of production for the past five years.

He explained that this would enable it to generate employment for the nation’s teeming youths and create wealth for the country.

Buhari said government had spent almost $5billion on the company, promising that its fortunes will change for the better as soon as he assumed office.

Buhari also promised to stem the tide of corruption and plug all loopholes through which government money was being siphoned.

He added that money recovered from this effort would be used to develop agriculture and provide quality education for the people.

“We in the APC have resolved to govern the nation with humility, probity and transparency.’’

He said he was in a better position to end the orgy of insurgency in some parts of the country based on his military background.

The APC presidential candidate told the crowd to collect their permanent voter cards and vote for him to ensure the needed change in the affairs of the country.

His running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, urged Nigerians to vote for the APC in the coming elections.

Present were National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, former Gov. Abubakar Audu, Sen. Alex Kadiri, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Hon. Buba Jibrin among others.

What Soldier Said About Corruption In Nigerian Military – A MUST READ

A Nigerian soldier who has been on the frontlines of the fight against Boko Haram has identified corruption as the
major factor hindering the fight against insurgency.
In an unprecedented exclusive interview with senior international correspondent of Cable News Network (CNN) , Nick Robertson, the soldier who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, “Not just the generals, everybody in the country wants to get rich by any means necessary,”
The soldier said the troops never benefit from the billions allocated to the defence budget and that he even had to
buy his own uniform.

“The troop morale is actually very low, very low, because we are not issued uniform; we buy the uniforms ourselves,” he explained.
Another soldier, a veteran of African Union and United Nations peacekeeping missions in Liberia and Sudan, said that the army did not have the equipment needed to successfully fight Boko Haram.
“The major problem the soldiers have is they don’t have the equipment to fight,” a video posted on CNN’s website
revealed him as saying.
According to him, the insurgents have anti-aircraft guns, which he says are accurate up to three-quarters of a mile.
All the Nigerian military has are AK47 rifles and small machine guns, accurate up to a few hundred metres.
According to him, the Nigerian soldiers are often given only 60 bullets each, so they quickly run out, but Boko Haram,
he said, has large supplies of ammunition and more fighters.
Although the Nigerian soldiers do win some fights, he said they are regularly forced to turn tail and run for their lives
by the sheer volume of gunfire from Boko Haram fighters.
The soldier also revealed that the Army medics refused to pay the $200 for medicine to treat his injuries.

Nigeria must confront Boko Haram – step forward, Muhammadu Buhari
The elections are an opportunity to depose the ineffectual Goodluck Jonathan and install a strong leader with a reputation for incorruptibility

'Muhammadu Buhari has a reputation for strong leadership and incorruptibility.

Nigeria is at war. In the past week alone the Islamist militants Boko Haram have slain hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people across north-eastern Nigeria, some with the help of child suicide bombers, including a 10-year-old girl. In recent months they have sacked entire towns and villages, and are now masters over 20,000 square miles of territory.

About 1.7 million people now live in Boko Haram’s declared “caliphate”, while 1.5 million have been displaced from their homes as a result of the violence. With a month to go before presidential elections, Africa’s most populous country is losing the war against a fullblown Islamist insurgency. So what is the Nigerian government doing about it?

In 2013 President Goodluck Jonathan, who is up for re-election, declared war on Boko Haram and dispatched the Nigerian army to battle them. But Boko Haram not only fended off the army’s offensive, it ended up being emboldened by the obvious ineptitude of the Nigerian forces. Soldiers meant to be protecting cities and towns have sometimes taken to their heels when Boko Haram’s fighters arrived on the scene, leaving inhabitants at the mercy of the Islamists.

But the problem isn’t that Nigerian soldiers are cowardly, it is that they are woefully under-equipped, under-trained and far too demotivated to tackle the well-armed Boko Haram fighters. The governor of Borno, the state most affected by Boko Haram, has publicly stated that the Islamists are much better armed than the soldiers.

The reason the Nigerian army is in such poor shape is simple: corruption. The military’s annual budget exceeds £4bn, but rather than equip and train frontline troops, there are complaints that much of the funds end up in senior officers’ pockets. Soldiers who complain have been known to be court-martialed and sentenced to death for “mutiny”.

As commander-in-chief, this is where Jonathan could have been expected to step in. But rather than confront the army top brass the Nigerian president has opted to bury his head in the sand and place the blame for Boko Haram’s success on everyone bar himself. When news emerged last year of the kidnap of the Chibok girls, instead of reacting swiftly Jonathan hesitated for two weeks, suggesting there was no kidnap, only a plot by his political opponents to discredit him.

At other times he has shrugged off Boko Haram’s deadly attacks as little more than the unavoidable localised version of global jihad, implying with his tone and body language that hundreds of citizens getting killed every week is something Nigerians will simply have to get used to. After a deadly bomb blast killed more than 100 people in the capital Abuja last year, Jonathan was pictured dancing away at a political rally the next day.

Travelling around the country over the past few weeks, my impression is that Nigerians are increasingly looking to the main opposition presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, a former general and one-time military ruler, as the country’s best hope of tackling Boko Haram. Under “normal” conditions Buhari, a conservative Muslim from the north who ruled Nigeria with an iron fist from 1983-85, would have little hope of support in the country’s southern, predominantly Christian region. Without outstanding charisma, eloquence or competence on policy detail, the 72-year-old Buhari has already made three unsuccessful bids for president.

But after a year in which Boko Haram and government corruption has dominated local headlines, the ex-general has two things going for him: a reputation for strong leadership and incorruptibility. He is probably the only prominent Nigerian politician today who isn’t hounded by allegations of embezzling public funds.

A president with military experience to take on corrupt army officers would surely serve as a morale booster to the Nigerian soldiers battling Boko Haram. Granted, the ex-general has no magic wand to make the militants simply vanish. But in this period of existential crisis, Nigeria may need a wartime leader who can project reassuring strength and provide a plausible strategy for overcoming the insecurity in the country. Time is running out.

Change2015:
After the election they will be the first to pounce on him. Getting them addicted to easy access to the treasury and then losing the office that holds the key. I pray for saner leadership, not this avaricious mob, where billionaire militants feel free to threaten and kill as they please and bh claims 20,000 square miles of Nigerian territory. Even a fool must recognise that pdp has better materials than Jonathan but our tradition of 'worshipping' people who attain a certain office, has caused them to muzzle the truth, while hoping for the best. I truly await the presidential debates, but I am not sure he would like that to happen, with his tendency of putting foot in mouth.

You are absolutely correct. Many are supporting GEJ because they feel he represents the best chance for a continuation of the 'free for all' looting these enemies of progress are enjoying. These selfish folks will regret their choice once GEJ is deposed because it will be obvious they have gambled and lost everything.

NRIPRIEST:
The Op is correct...This about how the west can make it back to the center because they feel left out. And they careless about how they get there or who gets hurt(the nation)....Even if millions have to die and the economy crippled for them to get there they dont care and thats why they are supporting an old and archaic old man to lead us in this age. This people are desperate and have no soul!!!!
You are only describing you and yours. Do you know the damage GEJ has done already that the Yorubas feel duty-bound to correct as a people who contributed to him becoming President with their votes in 2011? If you are a reasonable person why not just conclude that the Yorubas have given GEJ a chance and now have the right to opt for someone else because of the failure of GEJ and that alone?

You guys are so unreasonable, hateful and bigoted you expect the rest of us to abide with the very dangerous and failed President you have chosen to sink with because of religious and ethnic hatred of others. The Yorubas are not the one putting Nigeria in danger. We are not the ones who are irresponsible . We are not the ones who do not care that many, many thousands of innocent Nigerians have died under this government with no justice for those lost souls till date. We are not the ones whose first reaction to the Chibok kidnapping was to jump blindly behind GEJ by shockingly proclaim to the world that "Chibok kidnapping is a scam".

Your penchant for blatantly dishonest revisionism, where you cast others as villains and hold yourself to be pious and godly, is disgusting. The GEJ years did not happen 50 years ago like the civil war which came before many of us were born. We all witnessed events under GEJ to know precisely who did what. You are shameless trying to revise history that is only a few years old in your ethnocentric effort to cast Yorubas as villains. Kindly spare us your wholesale dishonesty, brazenly shameless revisionism, bigoted myopia, lies and insults against the Yoruba ethnic group. Simply go and vote for your GEJ and let others vote their choice.
