Why is she asking unnecessary attention? It is their choice to sue or otherwise. I have learned when people start making unnecessary noise and seeking attention, they should be neglected. |

I pray God opens your eyes to see the implications of what you have done so you will be able to stop childbearing and focus on generating more income, empowering your wife to contribute financially to the family fortune and concentrate on giving the seven children sound education. Not sure he wants his wife empowered as he is very insecure. One of the reasons he keeps making her breed without caution to take her off the market. My conclusion is based on that incident after they had their 5th kid when she saw her friend from High School. |

If she hasn't seen herself as a baby factory, why is she popping babies without control? If anything happens to the husband I am not sure there is a plan for the kids. |

We are contemplating of sending him abroad to upgrade himself. Is there any University abroad that admits 3rd class students for Master's Program? The last I knew, a few UK schools do admit 3rd class graduates into their Masters programs. If you have the funds, he can do a to up degree before his Masters. |

Maeve7: Hi. My comment wasn’t addressing your replies on this thread.
I wrote it because a lot of posts were about the wife and how she must support her husband. Or implying that she won’t.
I want to know what a husband should do, other than job hunting, when he is out of work/business.
I am disappointed by myself. I should have known that the average male on NL doesn’t know what to do other than provide, if at all. It is the extent of dysfunction in our culture set in unrealistic expectations and the ignorance of many. I feel nothing should change whether a partner is in or out of work/business with respect to responsibilities. What could change is the family budget and maybe more empathy to help the other party out of work to be strong psychologically to face the challenge. That said, if the man has been all about providing only, I would expect the woman to have some decent conversation on how she needs him to help with some of the house chores. I want to presume the woman must have been mentioning that to him directly/indirectly while he is still providing. If she wasn't asking for his support with house chores, it might be difficult to bring that up as that might affect his ego however, it is a case of she finding a way to talk to him about it not from her being the current provider perspective but on the need to help out as that could also boost his confidence and help his mental state at this transition time. |

JASONjnr: Exactly, your mind is filled up with negativities and you see no good in whatever this administration is doing... other than to condemn all its efforts. It isn't about the administration and I guess you are choosing to be myopic here. You supporting duplicating duties to provide jobs for the youths is the height of inefficiency and what have been breeding corruption in the nation. We cannot want a better Nigeria and for selfish reasons do things wrongly and then put on a political lens to everything. That is the height of hypocrisy. |

JASONjnr: But they need a corresponding data to show that the information provided on the loan portal tallies with the information from the school.
Note that the school is managing their database and they're not being funded by the federal government. So they might not release their database access to the government.
For adequate results and synergy, the school will give records of all the students they've funded through the loan scheme. The federal government will be able to track the money and hold whoever is responsible for any mistake or corruption.
Duplicating duties helps to create jobs for youths.... I give up. There's no need to expect efficiency on any grounds with this mindset. |

JASONjnr: All Nigerian varsity owns a bank account where they track payments of fees and for easy audit from federal government.
The government aligned with schools to make the payment directly to them. For a number of students registered on their database.
Also, like I said with time this will correct itself.
No matter how much you get a guide about anything, your peesonal experience is what shape you into a perfect delivery of services. It shouldn't be done that way. The loan body should be able to manage it since they are the ones approving applications. All they need do is to fund the student account. Your thought on school administering the funds on behalf of the loan commission is what is promoting the fraud. This is something that everyone shoulf know but many will pretend they don't to justify the act. We keep duplicating duties and offices in Nigerian to promote room for stealing. We have witnessed its inefficiencies first hand but we need to give opportunities to our cronies to steal. |

JASONjnr: The people we copied from didn't just get it right at first glance.
With time, it will shape up.
I work in an institution where we develop ideas to the public. I noticed overtime that those ideas always look stupid at first but with time, it becomes a good thing.
Nigeria will get it right sooner or later. The world is way too advanced than saying those you copied from didnt get it right. There's much information to read from to guide. The student loan body should administer the whole process and not the university system. From inception, it was done that way so that those who would want to accuse the government in the future can be reminded that they are as corrupt as the government. |
Politics › Re: N71.2bn Out Of N100bn Disbursed For Student Loan Diverted – ICPC by GboyegaD(m): 3:31pm On May 01, 2025 |
JASONjnr: This isn't about the party or the president.....
The concept was a good development and it's a welcome idea as countries you look upto also practice this to enable people from not so well to do homes to send their kids to school without struggling to pay the fees.
The embezzlement is between the institutions and the agency in charge of disbursement of funds. The people involved might be Nigerians supporting Obi or Atiku. If you want to copy, learn to paste correctly. The issue isn't about other countries do it, it is about not following the way others do it. Ours is a case of pure corruption and it will keep thriving as long as we don't do things right. |

Please is he right? Why are you bothered about what your friend thinks about your spending for your family? What you should be concerned about how easy it is for you to raise and spend whatever you spend for your family. If you borrow to live like the Jones, then that's wrong but if it is affordable to you, you are good to go. |

U can Google the statistics for further findings. I was in the banking sector too and we did suffer a lot particularly business in the downstream and those in the stock trading business. We may not have suffered as much as other countries, it is because we do not have the real sector. Do you know how many banks at that point had to focus on recovery instead of giving new facilities? Do you remember how many people were laid off due to the crisis? |

ibechris: Why are u comparing Nigeria with America? American economy is about 390yrs,far older than our economy.
America is simply fighting a trade war and not just an economy issue.
Why is Ghana, ivory Coast and even Brazil not going through what we are facing?
In 2008,the world faced a terrible economic recession of all time, but Nigeria under Shamsudeen Usman as the then Finance minister, made it such that it never affected our economy but this terrible agbero president couldn't prove a point one bit. Did you say Nigeria wasn't affected by the global crisis in 2008? Ask those in oil and gas particularly downstream and those in the financial service market if they truly were not affected greatly. |
