Olulana97: Hello everyone,
I was given admission for a Master’s program in US university for fall 2024, but I deferred to fall 2025 because of unavailability of dates. So I was awarded a GSA position that covers my living expenses and tuition.. but it didn’t reflect on the I-20 of fall 2025, but I was given a letter from the department stating my tuition fee waiver and the stipend of the gsa..
My question is can I go to the embassy with the scholarship letter and present to the Visa Officer. This is my first attempt Ask the International Office to contact your department and then send you an updated I-20. |

This is unbelievable as my former boss is mentioned. I can't say categorically if he mismanaged/stole funds as one can only speak for one's self. However, I think AMCON was a little careless when you send someone down to Lagos and you pay per diem on a daily basis when you can pay a one time relocation allowance. |

DaddyCoool: It is actually NOT an embassy. But you're right it is considered a foreign country. See below Whether High Commission, Consulate, or Embassy, they are all diplomatic missions. The Nigerian House issues visas to foreign nationals that want to visit Nigeria so why is it not an embassy? For more information, kindly visit their website < https://www.nigeriahouse.com/>. |

The house where they once called the cops to arrest us. Immediately the cops came, we all told them they can't arrest us as we were standing in the Nigerian soil.
This incident happened in 2020 December. I had gone to renew my passport and in the said day, they chose not to attend to us and had an agent that was collecting $350USD before you can be allowed in. At some point, some people started shouting and that was when they stupidly called in the cops.
Good thing is i requested a refund and I'm glad they did returned my money after about 6 weeks. |

Over the years, the government have not put themselves in a position of trust. They develop selfish programs to suit their immediate needs. |

Afolue: yea, thanks. But lemme ask you were you a garri soaker when growing up.? One who wasn’t brought up under the abject poverty circumstances can never in any way settle for less. Na your standards give you moral. Candidly speaking, I am not speaking for myself as such but for the rest of the underprivileged Nigerians. Determination comes from the family where one came from. There are even many masters who are jobless, was it not determination that got them there.? What I am saying in essence is that, that mark in earning and above it, is for the well to do in the society. There are informations that will never go out of their circle. Even if one wants to learn a powerful skill that will earn good money, no be small money in funding oneself into it, the idea on how to go about it alone, if not mentored properly na to drop out forget am.
It is only God’s natural gift that can only raises someone from the status of grass to grace and na still by God’s grace. Majority are Bleep up already. Not even all who are abroad are thanking God in terms of value. If not for basic necessities being rest assured there..!
The rich can brag home and abroad.
Even the bank you talking about, na still connection. If by luck, how many of such kinds Growing up, we sold food by the bus stop. That should tell you I wasn't too privileged growing up. |

Afolue: it is the rich who has the wealthy ideas, and they keep it to themselves alone. Even in work & business. when last have one heard of any opening in oil companies them no dey employ!
Dangote and like sef are all from wealthy families… Even bankers in our conventional banks make more than a million. Assistant Managers and above make more and they are many of them. FCMG too pay well. Let me advice you, don't be bothered about what you hear or see around you. Just tell yourself what you want and that is where it starts. About 19years ago as a final year student, I tell my friends I wasn't going to start with less than N120k. Immediately I graduated, even before my set went for service, I had switched jobs within two banks without knowing anyone. In my second interview, I told my panel I was interested in working for only 4.5years as my intention was to be a professor. And at that nick of time, I left to graduate school but chose to go back to industry after my PhD. I am writing this to encourage you so that you can be assured that opportunities abound greatly. |

Afolue: I am a realist. See the numbers of church goers, different denominations, how many cars we all see park in front or at their car park? It is Never enough to transport all of the members home if we are to estimate. The poverty is glaring..! No be today. It is just a syndrome of rich getting richer and the poor getting poor. They’re are connected! The ideas of money spinning ventures are in their hands! Always good to go home and abroad. What are we not talking. Except one decide to sacrifice for his generation to rid off poverty from bloodline! Even if a poor man’s child is very brilliant, he or she cannot afford to gain admission not to talk of being able to afford the fees in studying law, pharmacy or medicine. If one enters the market place, what then is the definition of hard work.? Success to this height of earnings is just as the camel passing through the eye of a needle in most societies. Even prayers never answer many people request on the matter. Common responsibility limits progress drastically here in Nigeria than abroad. Common born one, one’s growth will be dragged backwards. We never talk of village people oh even as a single na war..! Fall down and die…matter
Wealth remains in the hands of the rich.! You don't use that to judge. There are too many people making such that I know. |

Berankis: Why was money collected. Are they expecting to check eligibility of applying students before accepting payments. So, the schools acceptance payments first and ask questions later?😁 They have student information on their portal and should have screened out candidates younger than the age they wouldn't admit. A single line of code would have saved all parties the stress. |

You claim to be taught by ladies that domestic chores aren't gender specific, but alot of you still think it's beneath you.
As long as the domestic tasks aren't shared equally, don't expect bills to be shared equally. What's the big deal in cleaning and cooking? Anyone can do it and it's no big deal. I guess everyone will find the kind of spouse they want. |
