Nobody labelled Mou a failure for not winning UCL with Madrid. Na so e easy win UCL. They labelled him one simply cos he won few trophies(a paltry 3) within 3 seasons which is the least number of trophies he has in a club.

If Pep is considered a failure at Bayern then we can conclude Fergie was also a failure at Man U
Mourinho was labelled a failure here for not winning the CL with Madrid by these Bayern folks, incase you didn't know.

Fergie never really had the quality of squads Pep has worked with. Pep is not really a failure at Bayern though, it's just that any other top coach could have achieved similar or even more with the same squad and conditions remaining constant.

Herrera was shite in his last season at Bilbao.
Manutd had no option than to sign him because of the agreement in the previous season.
What agreement did United have with Bilbao the previous season to sign him? Proof please. So far i only know we tabled a bid that season and Bilbao rejected it. So if Herrera performed worse in the successive season, why would United even table and increased bid for him?
Kagawa10:
Lol!
You don start your spinning theory again.
When did I mention that I never said he was a shite player?
People brought up his Bilbao stints, believing he was good and I just had to tell them that he was shite, still shite and forever shite.
And why won't I be on him when he's been part of the players who were woeful this season?
I know some players deserve some stick but what about the most important figure LVG? Why have you not admitted he's sh.it?

The way I see it, we gained a point on Man City grin
Perhaps Nyashnal can do some miracle @ Etihad?
Real madrid would most likely knock city out CL and end their hopes in Europe. City would be back to reality and would take the PL more seriously to ensure top 4. The best Arsenal would get from that match would be a draw and it's not gonna be enough for us.

What happened to mathematical chance?
It's City that is only delaying the inevitable. West ham would get a result against us surely or maybe even do a good job on us. A win against norwich is not set in stone either. I have always said City and Arsenal would drop points but it was gonna be useless because we would drop more points than them and fail to gain on them.

Finishing out of the top presents the biggest chance of LVG getting fired and i'm willing to bet on that.

Gaal was hoping he would improve, and Wilson proved worse when given the chance. But Rooney was scoring and assiting in his last 8 matches before his injury.
Earlier in the season, you said it was because we were creating few chances for Rooney and that's why he didn't score in many PL games. Then when his form improved actually improved early this year, you revised your theory saying that we were now creating chances for him. Rashford a 18 year old who has never played professional football came and used those same few chances we created and scored goals and that's why Rooney is failing to displace him currently. Your opinion regards Rooney has always been questionable from the start.
Now does LVG wait for other players to improve like Rooney before benching them if they play poorly? Didn't Martial get moved from the CF to the left initially even when Martial was doing well in that position?

But 6 was the highest rating for any player. To me, Valencia, Martial, Rooney and Blind did very well today.

I also think to you have not been watching Leicester to know how they break fast from their midfield. If you had been watching them, you would know we did well in that department today.
Our play through the middle was very conservative today maybe due to Leceister's midfield as you stated. Is a midfield of Kante and Drinkwater supposed to be better than our's? Our midfield deserves limited credit because they had to play so conservative to contain an ordinary Leceister's midfield and that's why they created so few through chances for Rashford.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by GBR1(m): 6:16pm On May 01, 2016
Elampiro, i think you're spot on regards Rooney today. I still find it difficult to believe Rooney had a good game. Maybe i just expect too much him (as it should be) and my bias affected my view of him. I find him incredibly frustrating and annoying at times today.

Rooney has not played poorly since his return from injury. Infact the two times he was substituted, our game compared. The first time, Lingard came on and we never moved forward. The second time, Herrera and Fellaini came on and we became clueless in midfield.
Earlier in the season when he was stinking up the CF position, why did LVG fail to bench him?
You will see even this rating put Rooney as one for the better performnce. This is why I said it's malicious to say he was poor. He did his job well of playing deep midfield.
It seems you didn't get my inference earlier in my previous post. I said he played badly but it was relatively better than others. That's why he got a 6 and that was higher than most players who played badly too.

that means Valencia isn't playing well be that.
rashford played well enough that if he was on the bench the fans go complain.
nobody is crying over Herrera or Memphis not starting.
I refuse to agree with this. There's no way Rooney can play RB better than Valencia.
Let's say we even go with this as an agreement. When Rooney plays poorly, why does he not get benched like the others?
elampiro:
Only Martial rated higher than Rooney.
I knew people would bring the conspiracy of English press. English press are actually most critics of Rooney.
Look at whoscored, only Blind rated higher than Rooney. This is despite Rooney having a Yellow card which means some marks deducted. Even non English sites rate Rooney as one of the best.
I can't argue against facts but what you have stated is relative. Most rankings online are saying the whole team didn't play that well so they got poor figures and it's only relative to other poor players that Rooney appeared good.

I know exactly what i'm saying regards Rooney and it's not about having an agenda against him or something. Rooney performance levels has been so abysmal in recent years such average performances are labelled good and extremely frustrating are called average. The English press would only tell lies about how well he played in the midfield because Rooney has to go the Euros and there's no way they want him starting as CF over Kane, Vardy or Sturridge. That should be England's problem not United's.

Well those folks on our bench don't get paid as high as him so it's very difficult to ignore. This is what happens when you try to build your team around an average player like Rooney. That's why he gets moved so often from one position to another without anyone to permanently place him on the bench and he's the captain FFS. Mediocrity everywhere!

What he did would never have unlocked Leceister's defense.
What irritated me most was the attempted chip by Rooney instead of shooting. Rooney has tried that shi.t so many times and it has never come off for him he had the guts to do it again in this must win match.
sinizia:
God bless you for this. It's the embolden that would have unlocked Leceister's defense. Since our MFers lacked it, they resulted in feeding Rojo with passes only for the fool to send parabolic-esque crosses with zero velocity into Leceister's 18-yard and as always, Huth and Morgan were waiting to head out the timid crosses. It's very frustrating to watch.
Shades of that legendary match vs Fulham with Moyes in charge with so many crosses that failed. grin grin

I doubt that. There was need not to be over ambitious from midfield. Carrick and Rooney always ensured they played behind the ball. They also changed the direction of play from side to side in a admirable way. Fellaini who was in the number 10 and Lingard in the right wing were the disconection in our passing.
Fellani was far more useful than Rooney today and i don't know how you always manage to praise this guy who shouldn't even be in United currently. Rooney is the highest paid player in the PL FFS. Players who get paid that much should have performances that correlate with the figure. Look at what Ronaldo, Aguero, Messi etd who bring to the table and that's why they are paid so much. Be sincere with yourself, and be stop being Wayne's fan instead of United first.

Rooney that can't even displace a rookie in 18 year old Rashford for the CF position and whose uselessness is now being accommodated in midfield and you're defending him? Do we pay him 300k every week to spray diagonal passes down the wing to Valencia?

I wish I can grab that dude's throat from my screen. How LvG will perform better with a top-4 finish is what I don't understand. This season he was in UCL and Europa League, was there ANY good outcome from both competition? I wish I was mod, I'd have banned him a long time ago.
Exactly, we are never even gonna challenge for the league next season under LVG if he stays and he's leaving after that. LVG claimed it's a 3 year process. 1st year, make top 4; 2nd year, win the league; 3rd year, CL and while the objective in the 1st year was barely achieved, we have regressed in the 2nd year and can't even reach the heights we reached in the 1st. so why should he get a 3rd year?

No be his fault sha, na Moyes wey hin replace cause am. If he had replaced SAF, his failure would have been more obvious than it is currently.
