We would not get top 4, not that it matters anyway to me. SailorXY:We showed desire only in the first 10 minutes. We didn't do enough to get the win IMO. |
we are 4 points behind City. |
Mata should take the free kicks close to the box. Rooney and Memphis can't even get them above the wall. |
How is that outside the box? it's a pen ![]() |
why is Martial on the right FFS? |
Kagawa10:Intelligent movement of fellani? ![]() |
what kind of stupidity is this ref exhibiting? he's giving everything leceister's way. Rojo's shйt. |
Odunharry:True but I don't think we have won 7 or more matches in a row. I think a draw would be the best we get today. |
Unchanged XI. ![]() |
Kagawa10:You are a clown. ![]() |
Kagawa10:The only reason top 4 is relevant here is because it's the spot for participation in the CL and in 1990 it wasn't like that so the 4th position was really negligible then unlike now but it's obvious you didn't know this either hence the silly questions and assertions from you. |
Kagawa10:Please what was top 4 in the 90s? Let's start from here The FA cup contrary to popular belief was not what saved Fergie's job. The board later revealed this; that his job wasn't on the line then. The FA cup win cannot do for LVG whatever it did for SAF( even if it did anything for SAF regards job). |
Kagawa10:Don't be silly. I never stated that you mentioned that either, or point out where i did. I was explaining how things went then because i really doubted you understood what you were discussing( what is top 4 in the 90s? and Fergie job wasn't even on the line then because it has been proven!). If you have nothing to say, please move on from this debate because i don't have any more time to waste. |
Kagawa10:I said facilities/academy not the players. Regardless the result of what City has achieved would be reflected in years to come after the players they are developing with those facilities have gone through and can play for the u-19, u-21 or whatever. |
Kagawa10:Fergie's job was never at risk then for good reason unlike what most people folks believe. You should never really have said this. Times are different and conditions are variables independent of other. Fergie had already made a 2nd place finish and had reorganized the club so excellently that even the board then were pleased. There was nothing like top 4 to play for then either and winning the league or a trophy was always the priority. The momentum of the 1st PL title was brought by fergie's signing of Cantona and almost negligible with those guys you mentioned because they weren't all introduced at once but in series of successive seasons. You need to do much research before you spew stuff about which you have limited knowledge of or can't exactly comprehend. Then again LVG has stated he's retiring next year and we stand to gain nothing from that because if we stick with him foolishly for a year when a coach like Jose is available, then when we won't have good options to choose from when he leaves and we end up with Giggs and finally sleep in mediocrity. |
SIRcumalot:It goes beyond control actually. City have a well organized plan/system and this translates to the football activities. They have acquired the best youth academy/facilities in the country for example and are just overall better run than either of United or Chelsea currently. Woodward could cede power as he's not that much of a football bloke but that would be in a way that would be counter productive to Pep because there would be too much on his hands and things could go wrong very easily that way. Besides at City, Pep won't have anyone on his back unlike at United; we've got SAF, Charlton the class of 92 guys sniffing around or even an assistant like Giggs trying to steal his job. I already mentioned some of the mistake those guys made.I'm not sure you understood what i meant by the content of that post and my reply here would be a rehash of my earlier post. That city performance story is just a cover story for pellegrini if they some how win the ucl he'll sing a new song.Cover story or not, that City's squad is capable of making the semis and they are there deservedly. Do you think Pep is interested in arriving at a new club that's not in the CL? Our chances of getting him were even played down due to this as were are not certain of CL football next season. We failed to get our principal targets in the summer and Martial was one of the final options we had to resort to and we paid over the odds for him like we are used to doing. We have overpaid for almost every single signing since Fergie left and it's no indication of our financial superiority over City as they pay far over the odds too even for flops too. The rumors regard sanches only tend to reflect our recent policy of signing talented young players because we have failed to get the galaticos and this is another indictment on LVG. I think i've said too much on this issue already and i'm not really interested in going on. |
Eastbay:There has been limited information from the board, but i really doubt that how much support he has because they haven't really come out to support him or deny the rumors that his job is on the line. United's management don't do this usually. His press conferences appeal more to me like he knows he's going out and i'm really amazed at your conclusion Rumors exist if Fergie and Bobby backing him. Two powerful figures backstage.Fergie and Charlton are on the football side on the board with no power and they can't really influence the administrative's board decision like they used to. Fergie got burnt with the Moyes' debacle and i doubt they'd really listen to Charlton after they he vetoed Jose's appointment in 2013. People would get killed for those kind of decisions in an authoritarian regime. |
MrTA:That's Ricardo Carvalho but i'm sure he meant Williams Carvalho who was a very hot prospect and linked to several PL top clubs. |
Kagawa10:I think i just got you now. You were refering to how many games relativer the actual league time table for games and my figure was for United relative to westham. Eastbay:I don't really know the exact feeling of the board regards him but i know he has lost the fans already and that's what should really matter i hope. Finishing 3rd and even the FA club is not enough for me, he must still go. |
SIRcumalot:Would Pep rather be under a lunatic like Abrahamovich at Chelsea, Ed woodward at United who knows nothing about how a club should be run or those Barca folks at City? It's far better for him at city and i could go on and on. You have no point here bro. Benitez deserves major blame and i can prove it, believe me. However, I don't want to change the state of this argument and i only used it a example to prove age is not really a factor if most of the players are still very good. What would happen to City post Pep is not the discussion here either or i can tell you Madrid won the CL post Mourinho with the core of a squad he built, but that would go contrary to the lies some stated here. I can also tell you City performances took a hit with Pep's announcement and that's proves the actual picture is greater than what you are proposing. am not making excuses just adding another perspective. We both know this is not true. City can and would outspend everybody if they need to. I'm not even gonna debate this. |
Kagawa10:Bros na one game. Abeg i no won argue. |
SIRcumalot:What clearing out? You mean like replacing Joe hart because he's not enough to be keeper in Pep's possession system or replacing Otamendi because he can't pass well enough from defense? whose fault is it that he can't make use of players good enough already and he has to replace them with quality ones enough to his taste? Squad age is not an excuse if the players are still good enough and capable of delivering. Do you know the average age of Jose's Inter side for example that won the treble in 2010? Thers's no debate here. City currently have the best squad in the league( too bad Pellegrini is underachieveing because City were heavy favourites this season and most folks expected them to walk the league considering the quality pf their squad and those they added in the summer). City position on the league table doesn't change the truth or you can ask yourself why this same City team is in the semis of the CL and it's that simple. They have the biggest cash to spend again, and this is known too. Pep has had his work cut out for him as much as possible. He has the greatest chance of being successful at city than any other PL club and he's a genius again for taking that chance. sebod:I know of two former Barcelona directors/folks who are at City who have worked with him previously and are already working with him again. You are only making this easier for me by saying this. Those guys there couldn't have stop him from taking the United or Chelsea job and it was more of his choice than anything though i know City have been working on it for long. City can comfortable outspend Chelsea or even United without even blinking and i'm surprised you didn't even know this. The same Chelsea that failed to release the funds Mourinho asked for in the summer is what you are comparing to Manchester City. ![]() Financial Fair Play FFP is basically dead for now you know what this means, don't you? |
Dadehmola:No no no. Pep is a genius, he is more than that. As some have said here transformed a nothing Barcelona to a team that won 2 CL in 3 years so why should reaching ordinary semis be the landmark for him in Man city where he would have unlimited cash? Is it not the same reason some folks here would say Jose was a failure at madrid because he transformed a madrid team that couldn't go beyond the round of 16 for 7 years into one that made the semis for 3 years consecutively and now if Pep does similar with(which is less actually) you want us to say that he had a good time in Europe? |
sebod:When Pep decided he was leaving Bayern, he had the choice on a platter to chose from United, Chelsea and City etc but he picked City who currently and undeniably have the best squad in the league and this package comes with almost unlimited funds for him to spend as he pleases. Regardless, he still gonna spend so much money and sign the very best players for him to compete and we both know why; he has always had the best of the crop to work with and City is the club in the PL that comes so close to guaranteeing that. He has had his work cut out for him obviously and saying the contrary is very deceitful. |
Dadehmola:He must move past the CL semis at least in my opinion. He is replacing Pellegrini who has made the semis and i'm sure City are not hiring him to make semis, but to win the CL. Time will tell. |
fcbonsai:see below SailorXY:This is exactly what i was trying to explain. LVG has to leave first before anything good can be done. |
adeyemi2015:Renato Sanchez is closer to a done deal than Kante, as far as I know. We are far more certain to sign Sanches than Kante. United have scouted Sanches for over 20 matches and made bids for him already. His agent Mendes, and even Benefica's manager were in Machester for talks but Kante hasn't really been given that much attention. My grouse with these potential transfers is that these players we are trying to sign like Kante, Sanches were performing similarly to what Morgan was doing the previous season with Southhampton and that was what made us sign him. Now we got Morgan and he's a shadow of the player he was then and failed to live up to expectations and I can't help but feel these new signings would end up the same way especially with LVG in charge. |
diggz:When he was with Barcelona, they were saying he was world class... Now you calling him akpere? ![]() |
dmcdad:I think he could bench Bravo though. He has made better saves than him in the past and his ball playing/distribution is superior. Good deal for both sides. |
Kagawa10:What was lost in translation was negligible here. LVG is a lunatic, your defence of him cannot change that. He's simply trying to give reasons why we failed so terribly this season. Our objectives at the season comprised of wining the league and having a very good run in the CL, both of which we miserably failed at. No one could have predicted Martial playing so much games and becoming so important to us or Rasford leading the line because LVG was a fool to wager on Rooney delivering goals as the CF for a title winning season. His lunancy in fact goes on and on with levels superseding what I've even stated. Tell me how many players of Leceister's squad have title winning experience and why they are about to win the title now.... |

, and miraculously makes top 4, it would be difficult to see him go, given the support he seems to be having in the boardroom
just as u pointed out in ur last statement
