Food / Re: What Is The Nutritional Difference Between Butter And Margarine? by geezville86: 4:57pm On May 10 |
Butter is derived from Cow’s milk, while margarine is plant based. Therefore those that are lactose intolerant may not digest butter well. Hope this helps. |
Investment / Re: How Can I Get My Money From African Alliance Insurance Company? by geezville86: 9:03am On Apr 04 |
I am a little confused about the situation described by OP. What type of financial product is this takaful savings plan which even more interestingly was offered by an insurance company? It may be a little hard to retrieve your funds o, as I do not think it is covered by NDIC (Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corp). Your only other recourse would be the industry regulator (which I suppose you have contacted) or maybe a professional body, if they have any, like a Chartered Institute of Insurance Practitioners or a similar entity |
Family / Re: Houston Woman Divorces Her Brain Dead Husband, Then Adopts Him by geezville86: 9:05pm On Apr 03 |
From another angle, this looks like a sound tax avoidance strategy which for all intents and purposes is completely legal. Before re-marrying, the woman would have been untethered from the disadvantages associated with reporting family income for folks with spouses, while also taking advantage of any tax credits/benefits for an infirm dependant. In any case, she has done well by her husband in providing him with all the care he needs. |

triplechoice: Hmm…you are missing the point here, and quite obviously. I only provided examples, with the point being the unhygienic hand with residue will be used to do one thing or the other |
Health / Re: Stop Using Tissue Paper To Wipe Your Nyash After Poo, Always Use Water . by geezville86: 8:03pm On Mar 12 |
Each of the popular options by themselves are somewhat disgusting. Wiping with tissue only would not completely do the job, and using water with your bare hands is actually irritating, no matter what anyone wants to say. If you like scrub those hands with a metal sponge, there will still be some residue which you will now use to shake someone else or use to eat amala and then blame witches from the village after an infection occurs. Bidets are the way to go, and then wiping with tissue thereafter. The next efficient option would be to sprinkle water on toilet paper and wipe off until you have done justice to the place. Baby wipes could clog the toilet and cause a sewer back up. |

Politics / Re: Only 10 Of 149 Deputy Governors Took Over From Bosses Since 1999 by geezville86: 5:47pm On Jan 28 |
out of the 10 deputies identified, I can count a number of them that became governor due to unforseen/unplanned events. For instance, Yakowa took over from Namadi Sambo, due to Sambo’s nomination as vice president to GEJ. GEJ became Governor due to Alamieyeseigha’s arrest while abroad. Bala Ngilari also took the reins due to the impeachment of Murtala Nyako in Adamawa. Long story short, the planned succession of a governor by his deputy in Nigeria is statistically rare and its probability is much lower than the 10 out of 149 indicated here 1 Like |

From what I am seeing so far, Aina is probably the worst player in the Nigeria team today! Too many inaccurate passes and lost possession; below average performance. I don’t even get this 4-1-4-1 formation that naija’s coach is using 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / Re: How is Tinubu Able To Control Fashola, But Wike Cant Control Fubara? by geezville86: 7:12pm On Oct 31, 2023 |
I feel like another reason why Tinubu was able to have a good handle on things was because he was a little more strategic than Wike. If you guys recall, towards the end of Tinubu’s governorship tenure in 2007, he picked up a senatorial nomination from his party but after a second thought, he forfeited the nomination and chose to stay back in Lagos to personally monitor and build his political base. Wike on the other hand carry head go Abuja go collect Minister work and is still expecting 100% loyalty from the folks he left in his base in Rivers State. Only a matter of time for cracks to start becoming obvious. This is where Tinubu showed political sagacity. Wike still dey learn |
Politics / Re: What Would You Do Differently If You Became President Of Nigeria Today? by geezville86: 9:54am On Aug 30, 2023 |
lol…not sure I’d spend up to a year before the corrupt system plots my removal or assassination, cause it will be brutal! a. Mandate that financial statements for all MDA’s (ministries, departments and agencies) must be published on a quarterly basis on their respective websites. b. All public contracts and the tendering process must be published online including a clear basis for awarding the winning bid. Certain personal details of all the directors of the public contractor must be published, as well as invoices for progress billing with a complete breakdown of what was done c. Each MDA will have only one bank account that must be reconciled monthly and the bank rec must be published monthly, except for certain agencies that require a level of secrecy for national security reasons d. Identify and shrink the unproductive employees in the public sector significantly. Why? We have a lot of rent seekers that are contributing nothing to MDA’s and/or are corrupt. Need to weed these people out to improve efficiency and reduce recurring expenditures. How? Set up a whistleblower mechanism. If anyone is found guilty of corrupt practices, they’re gone. Also perform skills/competency tests by a reputable external party to avoid promoting incompetent folks. I could go on and on e. Create a network of pipelines across the country to 1. transport crude oil to refurbished refineries and some newly constructed modular refineries 2. transfer refined products to specific oil depots across the country. Our over reliance on these rag tag, renegade-style oil tanker drivers and their proprietors must end. These assets (pipelines) will be manned by drones and secured with high voltage barriers as a deterrent for pipeline vandals. In the end I expect this to bring down the cost of refined crude products significantly. I have a lot to type, beht hand dey pain me. Due to certain laws though, there are things that cannot be done so quickly like slashing salaries of politicians. Lots of legal hurdles to cross on that path. Make I stop here |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Should The Boss Inform His Staff Of A Potential Sale? by geezville86: 12:52pm On Dec 30, 2022 |
DenreleDave: During the negotiation phase between buyer and seller of the said business, probably not a good idea to release any information about the potential sale. This is a common global practice. Once the deal is sealed, then the seller can adapt a structured technique of letting the cat out of the bag. This is really important where the business involved provides services as opposed to the manufacturing or sale of goods. 1 Like |

Hidentity: It depends on articles in the rental agreement though. If the agreement includes a clause that allows the landlord to assign his rights and obligations to another entity unconditionally, without let or hindrance, there’s nothing the tenant can do about it legally. |
