Nairaland General10 Things Every Teacher Should Do Before Going Back To School by Gemid94(op): 12:51pm On Aug 21, 2019
Summer break always goes by too fast! You will need conscious and adequate efforts to be able to plan your schedules well before setting out for another academic session.

Here are 10 things you need to do before heading back for the first day.

1. Map out your schedules now
The beginning of the school year is always busy, and demands well mapped schedules to stay focus. There are so many meetings and events. It’s hard to remember when everything is happening. That’s why it is deemed fit to fill out your calendar over the summer. Go to your diary and write all the important things you need to do. Also add other family activities to your calendar. For example, your outings, meetings and extra moral classes. Doing so, will make your schedules less cumbersome as this gives you a picture of what to do for each day.

2. Start adjusting your sleep schedule
Summer means sleeping in until 9 and staying up until 11. It’s a shock to your body when you suddenly have to crawl out of bed at 6 on the first day of school. That’s why you should gradually get up and go to bed a little bit earlier. That way, by the first day of school, you’ll be ready for your new schedule. Remember work without play makes Jack a dull boy. However, in this case, it means you should compliment your work with adequate sleep.

3. Prepare some freezer meals
The first week of school is exhausting! The last thing you’re going to want to do when you get home is, make dinner. Luckily, you can use some time now to prepare meals. Freezer meals are a great way to prepare to go back to school. Ensure you take balanced diet to stimulate your body anatomy before resumption.

4. Stock up on snacks and foods for lunches
Get a lunch pack and a few snacks for yourself and kids each day. You may start buying school snacks ahead of time. That way, you can just grab a few things in the morning and get out the door. These are some of the favorite snacks you may consider as favourites:

Goldfish Veggies (carrots, broccoli, celery)
Fruits (oranges, apples, fruit cups)
Meat pie
Cubed Cheese
Doughnut
Yogurt

Ice cream etc.

5. Do a bit of school work each day
Everything that needs to be done to go back to school is overwhelming.

Plan lessons
Organize materials
Copy papers
Laminate name tags
Prepare technology
If you do a bit each day, you’ll still be able to enjoy your summer. Plus, you won’t have to do everything at the beginning of the school year.

NURTW nabs 3 traffic robbers in Lagos

Three suspected members of a robbery gang that had been terrorising motorists and commuters at Mile-2, Lagos, have been arrested by members of the National Road Transport Workers, NURTW, operating on the platform of ECOMOG.

The suspects, according to the union’s chairman, Mile 2 branch, Ajele Abeyi, were arrested Friday night. He said: “For a year now, activities of traffic robbers from Ijesha to Mile 2 have been alarming, as several persons plying the expressway had fallen victims. I was also a victim.

Corruption kills more Nigerians than HIV/AIDS, malaria — ActionAids boss

Country Director, ActionAid Nigeria, Mrs. Ene Obi, has said corruption kills more people in Nigeria than HIV/Aids and malaria put together.

Malaria Obi, who led a delegation of ActionAid officials to the Abuja Bureau of Vanguard Newspaper said more needed to be done in the fight against corruption in every sphere of national life.

According to him, “ActionAid is an anti-poverty agency to eradicate corruption. We believe that corruption can be eradicated and we believe that if our resources can be distributed, the way it should, remove the looting and the misappropriation that is happening, no Nigerian needs to go to bed hungry.

"When we are growing up, in school, we were with children of governors in a public university but today that is not happening.

“Corruption is the major obstacle to eradicating poverty and we are looking at it as Nigerians who have said no. As Nigerians, if we do not reclaim our country, it will not even be the dust bin they will eat from, we don’t even know where they would eat.

“I think it is time to reclaim our land from the looters. Orientation is something that we seek. I think people have lost it. There are a lot of insanity in the atmosphere and that is the sanity that we need to bring back to people. People who have gone astray, we can also bring them back to the fold. And so, ActionAid is calling for collaboration in the fight against corruption.”

The name Jesus never existed, it was invented, Daddy Freeze tells Maraji

‘Jesus was invented about 400 years ago, just about the same time the truth about Yahushua, the real son of Yahweh was destroyed, to make room for a manipulative, monetized and politicized ‘Jesus’ doctrine’ Controversial on-air personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze has told young Nigerian comedian, Gloria ‘Maraji’ Oloruntobi.

Maraji and Daday Freeze Maraji on her Instagram page said the only to haven was through Jesus and not Buddha, Krishna or evolution.

Daddy Freeze on his own Instagram page wrote Jesus was invented about 400 years ago…. just as he asked how can a name the disciples didn’t even know existed, be the way to Yahweh?

If you went back in time only 500 years ago, not a soul on earth would have the foggiest idea who ‘Jesus’ was.

How can a name the disciples didn’t even know existed, be the way to Yahweh?

◄ Acts 4:12 ►

New International Version Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Ask yourself this question, if there was no other name under heaven given to mankind for salvation 2000 years ago, where did ‘Jesus’ come from only 400 years ago, when both the Hebrew and English language didn’t have a ‘J’ sound?
