Hmm... Only God knows who truly His. May we not fall from grace by cheap propaganda from self-acclaimed Jezebels clothed in human clothing... |
Yes, but not in all cases anyways. It boils down on how you present yourself to your Li at the first appearance, that is why your first impression must leave a mark (either negative or positive) on whoever you meet in your life endeavours. |
I think you guys still need to re-update the theme to a better one. For me, this is actually awkward. It looks immature so to say. |
What is NYSC PPA? PPA is an acronym for Place of Primary Assignment. This is a place of work where Corps members are posted to carry out the National assignment after a 21 days training in the Orientation Camp. A Corps member can be posted to places like: Government approved schools, firms, ministries, corporate organisations and so on. Here are the easy ways to change your NYSC PPA: 1. Polite negotiations: You would need to negotiate with the boss at the PPA you are posted to. Politely ask him/her to reject you, because once you're rejected, you would have your way to another PPA. You may have to give reasons based on the fact that the organisation of your interest requested for your service with them. This would have to be done through writing to NYSC by the organisation you are filing for, requesting for a particular number of Corps members to be posted to their establishment. This would give them opportunity for you to fill vacant positions in their work place. 2. Complain to NYSC: Another way is to forward your complain to the NYSC. You can complain to the NYSC by writing a complaint letter to either your Local Govt. Inspector (Li), Zonal Inspector (Zi) or to the state coordinator. If your reasons are good enough, I'm sure your request will be granted. However, the only acceptable reasons NYSC accept request of such manner without much ago are: medical challenges backed up by a certificate, marital reason with a marriage certificate to back it up, anti-natal care (For nursing female Corps members) etc. 3. Display of Aggression: This can be hilarious, but beleive me, it'll work because no employer would like to have an aggressive person on the list of their staff. Just pretend to be aggressive during your first day at work and see what become your conversation with the employee. If you are not then, you'll need to act it well to get what you want. 4. Act like a stammerer: Wow! Hilarious, isn't it? Yes! This part will surely work if you act well. I'm sure you must have watched enough Nollywood Movies. It's time to act them. Guess what? No employee would like to employ a stammerer to be attending to their clients only if such establishment would like to run at loss. So, this is an art you can perfect to get your wish granted at ease. 5. Act like a rude guy: The first day you report to your PPA, address the Principal with a word such as "guy" (For male Corps members) or "bae" ( For the female Corps members). I bet you, the employee would not hesitate to throw you out of his premises for such a rude approach. Funny as it may sound, it is what actually works if you act well. In summary, if all the aforementioned ways are strictly adhered to as planned then, changing your NYSC PPA would be a walk over for you. GOOD LUCK! For more details on how to change your NYSC PPA aside the ways highlighted by the writer above, please contact us @ 08029001306 (WhatsApp only)

It was a celebration galore on Wednesday as fans of the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Dino Melaye, took to their social media handles to express satisfaction over the return of the lawmaker to the red chamber. Recall Melaye in three separate appeals on Tuesday, 24th Sept. 2019 filed a complaint on the credibility of the election that declared him as winner of the poll, which the tribunal in Kogi faulted on grounds of irregularities. However, the court has reserved its judgment over the matter till further notice. In reaction to the above, some fans took to the social media to celebrate with the embattled lawmaker while some of his critics described the celebration as excessive and short-lived. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/dino-melaye-s-return-to-the-red-chamber-vs-fans-backlash

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that truly the commission is not independent. Head of Certified Trainer, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Hajia Garba Safia, made this known during a two days Zonal Training organised for Electoral Security Personnel for Kogi 2019 Governorship election supported by the European Centre for Electoral support which took place in Okene, Kogi State. She noted that although INEC enjoys financial autonomy and, since the amendments to the Electoral Act 2019, draws directly from the Consolidated Revenue of the Federation, yet this positive change in the funding regime of INEC, it still depends on the political will of the executive and the internal administrative processes of the Budget and Finance Ministries for early release of funds for confirming elections. “Delays with the release of the fund can negatively impact on INEC preparations and create anxiety within the polity. In the light of increasing concerns about the rising costs of elections associated with the cost of hardware components of technology and the huge administrative costs of running elections, issues of inadequate budgets and late release of funds may pose as challenges in the electoral environment that can play out in electoral security.” http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/we-are-not-independent-inec

Never in the history of consumer promotions in Nigeria nor in the built sector has any company put up such humongous prizes as the ones Dangote Cement promo has been throwing at its consumers nationwide as reward for purchasing its products. Though the prizes are unprecedented, industry watchers are also not too surprised because Dangote Cement is the leading player not only in Nigeria but in sub-Saharan Africa. In a manner never witnessed before, it has been a harvest of goodies for loyal customers of the cement giant since July 1, when it launched in Lagos its “Bag of Goodies” national consumer promotion reputed to the biggest ever. By the time the promo comes to an end, over 21 million customers would have been proud winners of one item or the other. Then the question is, what was on the mind of the management of the company before opting for the huge promotion? Adopting the words of Michael Leboeuf, that “Every company’s greatest assets are its customers because without customers there is no company”, Dangote Cement plc has used the ongoing nationwide promotion to showcase the value it places on its customers. For the company, customers are its important intangible assets who should be valued, managed, and rewarded for continuous patronage. It is against this backdrop that the company has in the last nine weeks transformed the lives of ordinary Nigerians by presenting to them exceptional gifts of cars, tricycles, plasma televisions, etc. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/dangote-cement-promo-we-are-transforming-lives-of-nigerians-dango

Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, Adewale Giwa, has advised the founder of Later Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare to study his bible carefully and perish the thought of becoming the president of Nigeria. Giwa, in a statement he issued on Monday, urged Pastor Bakare to learn from what is befalling vice president Yemi Osinbajo. According to the cleric, it is not possible for a man claiming to know Christ and also turn out to serve the devil. Bakare, in a video trending on the social media, declared that he would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari as 16th president of Nigeria. Giwa, in response to Bakare’s assertion, specifically quoted 1 John 2:15-16 which says, “Do not love the world or things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, that is, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world.” http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/2023-presidency-learn-from-osinbajo-you-ve-missed-the-way-to-heav

The Presidency has disproved claims that the office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been sidelined after a change of the Economic Management Team (EMT) headed by Prof. Osinbajo. President Muhammadu Buhari had recently set up a new-look economic advisory team which has economists such as Prof. Charles Soludo, Bismarck Rewane, and others, to take over from the team previously overseen by the Vice President. Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Thursday on Channels TV dismissed the claims as false. Mr Adesina said the presidency is united and that Buhari is only working for the good of Nigerians. He said that the insinuation that there was a rift between Osinbajo and Buhari was being spread by detractors of the Federal Government. “The Vice President is the number two man in the country…The new economic advisory body can also relate with the Vice President as necessary,” Adesina said. “It’s just some Nigerians who want to drive a wedge between the President and the VP, that read meanings into everything and insinuate but there’s no need for that.” http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/4565467:Topic:2874248

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kogi, Prof. James Apam, on Tuesday, expressed worries over possible violence during the Nov. 16 governorship election in the state. Apam disclosed this at the unveiling of “Get Out The Vote (GOTV), Voter Education and Stop Violence Against Women In Politics (STOP VAWIP)” campaign projects and multi-stakeholders’ meeting, in Lokoja. He said that INEC had, on several occasions, prepared to conduct credible elections and would have always put necessary machinery in place to ensure free, fair and acceptable elections only for such elections to be disrupted by violence. The REC said that the commission intended to correct the flaws identified in past elections during the forthcoming election, saying “we intend to correct them and make this one a test case for elections in this country. “INEC is doing everything possible to organise free, fair and credible governorship election in November. We have met with traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the state on the way forward. “People always blame INEC when there is a problem, but the truth of the matter is that in most cases, the electorate and politicians are responsible for the problems. “Yes, on our part, we normally encounter some problems but I can assure you that some of these problems will be solved before, during and after the election. Our main worry has always been violence. “You spent a lot of time to prepare for elections, putting resources together, training men and women for the exercise. “You send them to the field for the exercise and all of a sudden, someone with a gun appears and starts shooting and before you know what is happening, everything has been disrupted,” Apam lamented. Apam, therefore, enjoined parents, especially women, to help talk to their children and wards on the need to eschew violence, adding that with absence of violence, there would be massive turnout during the election and the exercise would be hitch-free. The REC also urged the electorate to conduct themselves in an orderly manner before and during the election to enhance smooth exercise. CLICK HERE FOR MORE: https:///2kPCavo

The Minister of Foreign Affairs , Geoffrey Onyeama, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver a speech at the General Assembly. “He is fifth on the list of presidents to address the assembly,” Onyeama said. Onyeama stated this on Tuesday during a media briefing on Nigeria’s participation at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. A press release from the ministry stated: Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs held a media brief today on Nigeria’s participation in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. 2. The theme for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly is ‘Galvanizing multilateral efforts for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion’. The focal areas identified by the President of the 74th UNGA resonate with Nigeria. 3. President Buhari will deliver a speech at the General Assembly. He is fifth on the list of Presidents to address the assembly. The advantage is that it provides a great opportunity to not only project the country, but also articulate to the world, priorities of the Nigerian government. 4. In addition, the General Assembly offers the country an opportunity for engagement in many fora. Side events to be organised by Nigeria include the following: – SDGs Integration; Bridging the Policy Planning Budget Gap for the achievement of the SDGs -Promotion of International Cooperation to combat illicit financial flows and strengthen good practices on asset recovery and return to foster sustainable development in the country – Sanitation and Hygiene Campaign for a Clean Nigeria: Sharing lessons and key insights 5. Furthermore, Mr. President has been invited to a number of high-level meetings and events, which include: – Climate Action Summit 2019: a race we must win – Universal Health Coverage – Political Forum on SDGs – Commemorative Event to mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the convention of the rights of the child. – Dialogue on financing for development – Meeting on the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons – Meeting to review progress made in addressing the priorities of Small Islands Developing States through the implementation of the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (SAMOA) Pathway. 6. There are a number of deliverables that Nigeria is working towards and we shall partake in engagements that will support our needs. Nigeria is also vying for some seats/positions in some international organisations and committees including the International Maritime Organisation, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO, the International Civil Aviation Council and the Committee Against Torture. 7. The 74th session of the UN General Assembly provides Nigeria a platform to project itself as an important member of the international community. Having our Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Bande-Muhammed as the President of the UNGA also gives us high visibility and greater influence to push agendas of importance to us such as the fight against corruption, countering violent extremism and terrorism, the treatment of migrants as well as the recharging of Lake Chad. We will also engage with other countries to aid in our quest to successfully deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals. https://punchng.com/buhari-fifth-on-list-of-presidents-to-address-74th-unga-onyeama/

The dichotomy between wants and needs cannot be easily detachable particularly considering its significant role in the Nigeria polity today. According to the great economist Adams Smith, every human being have basic needs to meet on daily basis. He further viewed human being as an economic man who never needs but just wants. This simply suggests that our wants are insatiable because they are sine qua non to our continuous existence on the planet - earth. As such, human challenge springs from inability to identify what the discrepancy between wants and needs are. Until there is a striking balance between human wants and needs, the situation may never be different from what a bird goes through when it perches on a rope. Today, Kogites are in the gridlock of the blue moon and the sea because of our inability to create this balance. This balance is essential if we truly crave for a better and free Kogi. Having followed the incessant trends in Kogi for quite number of years back, it is quite beyond doubt to say that the political narratives are changing and people have begun to be fully active in the selection of who they want to pilot the affairs of the state. Averagely, most Kogites say they want a better leadership. They also want good roads, health facility, constant electricity supply, affordable homes, security, quality education and great human capital, which can drive the change we want. Yes! These desires are needed particularly in the time where human capital is what should be mostly prioritised by any responsible government. But can we really say these desires are always acted upon by the government as time goes by. Based on this backdrop, there is need to fully decipher the dichotomy between what the Kogites wants and what they actually needs in terms of development. Most of the time, the leaders who ought to know better end up misprioritising the concepts by embarking on projects that have little or no influence on the lives of the people at large. For instance, when a government piloting the affairs of the ruralites engages in project that is more urban-centred than it is to the local, hence, such project is an adventurous miscarriage that will never be appreciated by the people. Thus, we must begin to carryout proper scrutiny on the economic concepts of wants and needs, and using such knowledge to make things better for us. The father of modern economics, Adam Smith, had postulated most economics issues can only be resolved by invisible hand. This invisible hand, the market force, manifests when buyers and sellers negotiate prices and seek their own self-interests. Through this, consumers do have a power of a choice of rewarding great producers by buying their goods or chasing away unreasonable others.Unreasonable or tactless producers learn their lessons when they are forced out of market. With the interplay of market forces and at the point where consumers properly understand what the difference between a want and need means, the consumers (electorates) do know their active involvement in negotiating their interest will bring them health, happiness and well-being. The people at this junction also know if they become docile in the operations of the market forces in a free market of democracy, their needs may become wants. In democracy, it has been said minority (producers) will have their say and majority (electorates) will have their way. In the case of Nigeria, and possibly in other developing countries, the minority (people in power or unreasonable producers) had learned the act of manipulation so well the buyers do not realise they should be active players in the market forces of democracy. The buyers had remained docile and weak. They lack information or had refused to create a balance between what they think is just a desire and a need. The electorates continue to wish for a better day, year in year out. While opportunity presents itself every four years, in the case of Nigeria, electorates continue to sleepwalk and hope their desire will be met one day. Kogi’s electorate do not realise they have the power of choice and right to demand accountability from their elected officials. Kogites will rather argue and fight over irrelevant issues. Our unreasonable producers of goods (government and elected officials) who continually draw from our common resources had perfected their acts and arts. They give us something to engage ourselves with while they continue to populate and pollute the market space with bad products. We keep buying the substandard products either in error or intentionally. We never learn our lessons nor refuse to accept bad products. Indeed! This has really bedeviled the fabrics of our political system as what ought to be obtainable is now what is rejected. To this end, we must begin to provide accurate answers to some of the following questions: What do we really need from the new government coming on board? Do we have voters' card to decide what become our fate in the 16 November gubernatorial election in Kogi? Have we make an informed choice of voting individuals presented to us by the party? Should we allow the individual's agenda decide the fate of our dear state? These are the ways we can only translate our wants into needs if we must make the political situation really work out as events unfold. Arogbonlo Israel, Lagos gemid931@gmail.com

Mr Achuba, in a suit NICN/ABJ/244/2019 filed on Aug.19., prayed the court to declare that the decision of the defendants to withhold his allowances was discriminatory and amounted to unfair labour practice. He is also seeking for an order of the court for the payment of N921.5 million being his travel allowances, monthly impress, security votes and other statutory allocations due to his office as the Deputy Governor of Kogi. The case which was filed by Falana & Falana’s Chamber is yet to be assigned to a judge. The rift between Mr Achuba and Governor Yahaya Bello became public in October last year following reports of an alleged strained relationship between them. In February, Mr Achuba said his life was under threat following the withdrawal of his security details allegedly on the order of the governor. In August, the State House of Assembly commenced impeachment process against Mr Achuba. NAN reports that activities resumed on Monday at the NICN after its two months annual vacation. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/kogi-dep-gov-sues-bello-over-unpaid-allowances

The Argentine is in line for his first appearance of the 2019-20 campaign after making a full recovery from a calf injury suffered in August. Lionel Messi has been declared fit ahead of Barcelona's Champions League clash at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been out of action since sustaining a calf injury in pre-season, following his return to Camp Nou from the Copa America with Argentina. He was expected back on August 25 when Barcelona faced Real Betis at Camp Nou, but his scar reopened which extended his time away from the pitch for a couple of extra weeks. The 32-year-old returned to full training on Monday morning and has been included in Ernesto Valverde's 22-man squad for the trip to Westfalenstadion. Messi will travel to Germany with his team-mates later on Monday, as Barca prepare to open their latest Champions League campaign. The Spanish champions have been drawn in Group F, alongside Dortmund, Inter and Slavia Prague. Messi has not featured for Barca since a Copa del Rey final defeat against Valencia on May 25, with Valverde having to make do without a prized asset at the start of the season . The leader of the #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore, has again asked the Federal High Court to grant him bail on self recognisance or any condition the court chooses. Mr Sowore’s request is contained in a motion filed on Friday by his counsel, Femi Falana, and made available to newsmen on Monday. Mr Falana cited Section 28(4) of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act 2013, which states that a person detained pursuant to Section 27 (1) can be admitted to bail by the court. Reports confirmed how Justice Nkeonye Maha on August 28 refused to hear an earlier application filed by Mr Sowore, challenging his detention for 45 days by the State Security Service (SSS). Mr Falana had asked the court to set aside the exparte order granted by Mr Taiwo. Mr Falana also applied for oral bail when Justice Maha rejected the earlier application. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/revolutionnow-sowore-seeks-bail-again

A former Acting Governor of Kogi State, Asiwaju Clarence Olafemi has hinted that he may be defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) soon. Briefing newsmen at his Lokoja residence on Sunday, Olafemi said his weekend visitation to governor Yahaya Bello was because of impunity in PDP. He noted that PDP has cheated on him several times and he cannot continue to stay in the party, “I am one of the strong members of PDP in the state, yet the National Working Committee of the party failed to recognise my input and effort for the party. “I was the running mate to Jubril Isah in 2015 Governorship primary election of the party but we were later replaced by the party and brought in Captain Idris Wada and Yomi Awoniyi as running mate without any reason. “In 2019 general election, I was one of the Senatorial aspirants from Kogi west, I was denied from contesting as the party imposed Senator Dino Melaye who just decamped from APC back to PDP. “My Governorship aspirant in the just concluded primary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris was denied of the Governorship ticket of the party by some power to be in the party and gave victory to Engr. Musa Wada because they hate Alhaji Ibrahim Idris the former governor of the state. “With all these impunities how do you expect me to continue staying in PDP? Am not the first person to decamp from one party to another. President Mohammadu Buhari and my mentor Alhaji Abubakar Atiku all decamped from one party to another. I am not going to be the first or the last. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/kogidecides2019-former-kogi-gov-set-to-dump-pdp-for-apc
