tunwumi:Nor be today we start to hear that one. |
vaxx:Nice. |
No fewer than 10,000 to 20,000 people have fled the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region to seek refuge in neighbouring Chad. These refugees may reach Northern Nigeria as well as The Lake Chad regions. |
Biglittlelois:I remember when Equatorial Guinea won African women's cup in 2012. Their top scorer then was believed to be a man. All the other teams complained. The ladies kept complaining they always felt something on their bum bum when he tackled them from behind for the ball. The guy was top scorer in that tournament with several powerful shots on goal. |
DMerciful:PDP said they were the ones who told you guys immediately after the election that you got 900,000 votes in Lagos. So you are parotting what PDP told you. Why should we take what PDP says seriously? We would need evidence from all available polling agents from all parties that were present across Lagos. |
DMerciful:lol, so we should trust PDP? . Daniel Bwala said they (PDP) were the ones telling Labour they got 900,000 votes in Lagos. So are you saying Labour depends on PDP's control room? |
DMerciful:Exactly and Labour Party's own cannot be unique too. |
DMerciful:This is what I'm talking about. This is the only kind of petition that would make sense. If Obi is able to prove that he won these states with result sheet from their control room, then Lobatan. But remember they cannot prove these via results from Twitter. Their agents must bring copies of their results and the collated results from Obi's control room. APC also have their results from their control room, as do other parties. |
Parachoko:From Twitter . |
DMerciful:I have read their petitions. The summary at least. Tell me, what are the strongest prayers for you in those petitions? Tell me two of Obi's strongest petitions to you. |
gawu1:I swear .Tinubu go just revive SPV case for Atiku, while Pandora would be brought up against Obi as well as his Family business investment while in Government. |
DMerciful:How did someone who came 3rd with 25% in just 16 states, win fair and square? |
DMerciful:To me anything that does not show that Tinubu did not get the highest number of votes would not help Atiku or Obi. I believe the petitions of Obi and Atiku are watery and they can't beat Tinubu with those petitions. |
ProblemChild1:Yope. Once the largest global palm oil producer, Nigeria now ranks fifth on the world’s production, among others linked to problematic land acquisition. The country is still the largest palm oil producing country on the African continent. Nigeria was leading the global palm oil market in the 1950s and 1960s, but currently is a net importer from Indonesia and Malaysia, because of Nigeria’s negligence of its domestic palm oil sector. |
Good one

Just40:Yeah. If Nigeria can successfully build the PortHarcourt-Maiduguri rail that connects the North and South Easily as well as completely demolish bandits, we may be able to reduce food imports and reduce food inflation. If we do this and build storage rooms everywhere, food, fruits, and all produced in Northern Nigeria (especially North-Central (Nigerian Agriculture Powerhouse)) would no longer go to waste and food imports reduced. |
Obaaderemi2:The way he shifted from Uhuru to Ruto is something to be studied. Same Uhuru Kenyatta they praised to high heavens here. Now Ruto is his all and all . |
68816419:Nigeria produced in 2022: 59.4 million tons of cassava (the largest producer in the world). Nigeria accounts for cassava production of up to 20 per cent of the world, about 34 per cent of Africa’s and about 46 per cent of West Africa’s;[3] 47.5 million tons of yam (largest producer in the world);[27] 3.3 million tons of taro (largest producer in the world);[28] 2.6 million tons of cowpea (largest producer in the world);[29] 6.8 million tons of sorghum (largest producer in the world);[30][31] 2 million tons of okra (2nd largest producer in the world, second only to India);[32] 2.8 million tons of peanut (3rd largest producer in the world, second only to China and India); 4 million tons of sweet potato (3rd largest producer in the world, second only to China and Malawi); 369 thousand tons of ginger (3rd largest producer in the world, losing only to India and China); 2.2 million tons of millet (4th largest producer in the world, second only to India, Niger and Sudan); 7.8 million tons of palm oil (4th largest producer in the world, second only to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand); 572 thousand tons of sesame seed (4th largest producer in the world, losing only to Sudan, Myanmar and India); 332 thousand tons of cocoa (4th largest producer in the world, second only to Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia); 3 million tons of plantain (5th largest producer in the world); 833 thousand tons of papaya (6th largest producer in the world); 1.6 million tons of pineapple (7th largest producer in the world); 3.9 million tons of tomato (11th largest producer in the world); 6.8 million tons of rice (one of the largest producers of rice in Africa,[3] 14th largest producer in the world); 10.1 million tons of maize (14th largest producer in the world); 7.5 million tons of vegetable; 1.4 million tons of sugarcane; 1.3 million tonnes of potato; 949 thousand tons of mango (including mangosteen and guava); 938 thousand tons of onion; 758 thousand tons of soy; 747 thousand tons of green pepper; 585 thousand tons of egusi; 263 thousand tons of sheanut. In addition to smaller productions of other agricultural products.[33] Nigeria produced about 2.2 million metric tons of fish in 2008.[3] Livestock production is an essential component of Nigeria's agriculture with abundant social and economic potential. About 60 per cent of the ruminant livestock population is found in the country’s semi-arid zone and is mostly managed by pastoralists. Domestic production of livestock products is far below the national demand, resulting in large imports of livestock and livestock products. The domestic production of animal products is less than half the demand for beef, mutton, and goat meat, while for milk and pork products it is less than a quarter the demand.[3] |
🇳🇬Nigeria's unemployment would now be measured as: The % of the Labour Force that are "Not employed, but searching & available" to work. It was initially as: The % of the Labour Force that "Worked <20hrs and Not employed, but searching & available to work". The current unemployment rate with the old method of calculation is 33%. This may probably make it less. |

rvp20182:What is diversified about Kenyan economy? Only South African economy comes close to being diversified in Africa. List your top five sectors. |
Ofunaofu:He is speaking from Guinea with love. |
Pushed by the scarcity of cash, Nigerians transferred a total of N4.1 trillion (over 9 Billion dollars) over mobile in March 2023. This pushed transactions over the platform to record a 215% increase of over N1.3 trillion recorded in the same period last year. This came as the highest-ever monthly transactions recorded on the mobile platform and nearly double the record of February this year, which stood at N2.5 trillion. According to the latest electronic transactions data released by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems (NIBSS), the volume of mobile transactions also jumped by 794% in the month. The volume of transactions in March this year stood at 380 million compared with the 42.5 million recorded in the same period last year. |
rvp20182:That 100% debt servicing to revenue is just data for data sake. Nigeria has other means of revenues from within such as Sukuk Bond and others. |
rvp20182:FAAC is shared every month in Nigeria approximating 2 Billion dollars with reports on where they come from. The Bulk of it is oil and non-oil taxes. If the Federal Government at any given month shares FAAC that comes from CBN lending, it would be out in the open. I know what the functions of CBN are but you want to impose salary payment into this discussion because you saw Overdraft. My point is without Overdraft Nigeria wouldn't stop sharing FAAC but would be incapable of embarking on projects just like Kenya now. |
rvp20182:There is no report the overdraft was specifically used to pay salaries. Every month, Federal Government shares money to states and Local Government. These monies are usually gotten from taxes and oil revenues combined. That's what's used to pay salaries . I am saying because reports call it overdraft doesn't mean it was used to pay salaries. No evidence of that. It was rather used to embark on new programs and projects and multiple lending. Read my comment well, don't write like a wannabe slowpoke. |
rvp20182:So emergency means salaries automatically even when you can't find an article that categorically states CBN borrowed to Government for Government to pay salaries? Yet there are articles everywhere that shows what type of emergency funding CBN used the overdraft for. Don't speak from your ass again and don't be dull. If it was used for salaries, our media which is largely opposition media, would have made this known to the world immediately without fail. I told you it was majorly used to help farmers in an Anchors Borrowers Program and the rest of it sucked up by corruption. Nigeria is not little India borrowing to pay Federal salaries. |
rvp20182:You are really slow. They called it overdraft because it went above the minimum set by law and not because all (or even most of it) was used as emergency funding. |
rvp20182:Nothing stops you from printing shillings for to loans to Kenyan farmers (in order to help Kenyans starving in drought areas). That was majorly what we printed more naira for in 2020/2021. A lot of farmers were given loans and there were lots of programs by the CBN on this but corruption marred it. |
Kazikazi:Tanzania should be the powerhouse of East Africa. Not Kenya, not even Ethiopia. Kenya is the tech powerhouse of East Africa for a fact though. |
