JoeEeL: I remember a similar thread like this about Buhari's first 6 months and what are the expectations?
I remember he took a long time even putting his cabinet together. I remember some people saying then that the president is taking his time meticulously.
That was around January of 2016. That was when I first experienced the first serious effect of inflation. Red oil wey we dey buy usually 200 naira jumped to 400 naira.
Ever since then, the cowntry lost all shape and form. Country lost shape and form because price of red oil increased? |

Angelfrost: You underestimate the stretch of that man's wealth, my good man!
That man can effortlessly settle half of this Nation's debt without losing sleep! No jokes!
Maybe you don't know what it means to pocket Billions of Lagos income every month for almost 2 decades! Well I don't think he directly takes Lagos wealth. What I think is that he sets up agencies like Alpha Beta to do a job for Lagos and the agency gets a huge fee from Lagos for that job. A percentage from Alpha Beta then goes to his offshore real estate company in UK which was first managed by Oyetola (who some say is his relative). Now Seyi Tinubu was later in charge when Oyetola was to become a Governor. I believe that's how Tinubu makes his money. This is why Tinubu himself said IMF and World Bank have investigated the finances of Lagos in order to lend money to Lagos and they found no leakages. |

Oando Clean Energy Limited (OCEL), an energy company based in Nigeria, has kicked off a collaboration with Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong.
The partnership aims to deploy 12,000 electric buses and install the necessary infrastructure to support them on Nigerian roads within the next seven years.
The first two pilot vehicles have been delivered. The buses will be assembled locally. |

Shaytun: One of the greatest disservice ever done to this country by past leadership was the mismanagement of NNPC.
The largest African oil company, just look at Sonatrach, and how much it has contributed to Algeria development.
The kind of corruption and looting that has taken place in NNPC will make someone weep and lose hope in this country, but at least, it's getting corrected now.
NNPC reform started in 2021, can you imagine that between 2021 and 2023, they have almost remitted $10 billion to the federal government,
and they are also the one funding the AKK gas pipeline, a project that cost about $3 Billion, and it's already at 75% completion. https://www.makemoney.ng/biggest-oil-companies-in-africa/#:~:text=1.,in%20the%20global%20energy%20market. Exactly. They are funding AKK gas pipeline singlehandedly. Have already spent close to 1.8 Billion dollars. But more reforms need to be done on NNPC though. |

Shaytun: I can't wait for NNPCL to be listed on the stock exchange, either this year or next year.
Some analyst have put it's Market capitalization at around 50 trillion naira, that's around $108 Billion.
https://punchng.com/nnpc-worth-n50trn-can-be-listed-on-stock-exchange-ecowas-don/ If they can list NNPCL, NLNG, Dangote Refinery, that would be a new dimension to the Nigerian stock exchange. The likes of Flutterwave and the big fintech plan to list but I don't know when. Probably exchange rate issue. |

Shma2023: You literally but that Bs even without Fact-checking and dropping the Apples for Apple link!
What kind of debate is this? It's a fact. While MTN and Dangote were not amongst the top 4 tax paying companies from their revenues in Nigeria for 2022, NNPCL was number one and I think NLNG was number four. (I'll check for the link again). MTN was number 5 and Dangote around same level ( if you exclude his many tax rebates). So no way MTN Nigeria can be bigger than both companies. |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 8:43pm On May 12, 2023 |
Shaytun: Nope.
Safaricom is not bigger that NNPC limited and NLNG.
But both are not listed and traded on the stock exchange . Exactly and NNPCL, NLNG are two of the top companies in Nigeria alongside MTN Nigeria and Dangote. NNPCL is bigger than both MTN and Dangote. Hopefully they get listed this year as planned. |

Shaytun: MTN Nigeria is not foreign, Nestle Nigeria is also not wholly foreign, only Airtel NG has a significant foreign shares that local shares.
And Kenya biggest company safaricom is not wholly owned by Kenyans. I know but they would argue. They would insist since the parent company is foreign, then it must be foreign. |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 8:37pm On May 12, 2023 |
Shma2023: Again, that's not what I addressed. Mind you_ we can dig dipper and invent per-capita. I kid you not, Nigeria is struggling in that regard, and by virtue of having several single-owned companies. Why are foreign companies thriving in Nigeria? Population! Kenya is good at where we are.
Safaricom is the biggest company in kenya and Nigeria ; do you agree? YES or NO answer will suffice. Per capita again?? 😄. Note that Nigeria has huge disparity in exchange rate which has drastically reduced foreign investors in our market. So the investors in those stocks are over 95% local as at 2023. Market used to be valued at over 100 Billion dollars not too long ago. |

I think Safaricom should expand more in this case and not depend too much on the East African market since they are the lifeblood of the East African Equities. |

Shma2023: Our biggest will still wear the crown in Nigeria; do you agree?
Me, you aren't addressing the point I'm giving you. I asked you two question whichbyou're yet to dignify with proper answers. Your biggest is at 11.9 Billion dollars while your second biggest is struggling at 1.6 Billion dollars. Dangote is at 11.2 Billion dollars and still rising faster than Safaricom at the moment. Your entire market is basically Safaricom. This is not good. No wonder your market has been struggling. If Safaricom goes under, the market is at Botswana levels. |

Shma2023: Top 4 for kenya are strictly Kenyan owned.
Top 4 in Ghana; apart from the one man Dangote firm, are not Nigerian owned.
If we go apples for apples, kenya takes it.back to my point:
In top ten largest companies; No Nigeria firm is represented. Correct?
In top ten largest company by Market carp; kenya is represented, correct? Lol. BUA cement is part of the top four. BUA cement and Dangote cement combined is around 16.9 Billion dollars, bigger than the entire Kenyan market share. Only 3 companies from the Nigerian top ten are foreign. MTN, Airtel, and Nestle. |

Kenya's stock market capitalization is $17B. The biggest company after 8 south African and one Moroccan is Safaricom at position 10 - in SMC. Nigeria has nothing.
Now remove South Africa's MTN and dangote firm. Like I gave in my reply above, 1.75 trillion shillings can't be 17 Billion dollars. Let me post your top 5 companies again. Safaricom literally owns Kenyan market. This is the real monopoly.

AfriqueDuZuid: The South African stock market capitalization is $1.6 trillion 2023 Kenya stock market cap at the moment should be around 15 Billion dollars and Safaricom alone takes over 75% of that at over 10 Billion dollars. I think African countries generally are not big on stocks. Here are all the market caps of the world starting from Algeria with 434 million dollars in market cap. South Africa 1.2 trillion dollars. Because Kenyan Stock market is one of the worst in Africa from 2022. Last I checked, the top ten by market cap are from South Africa. Anyway these are the top ten in Nigeria in 2022. Dangote at 11 Billion dollars. Can you show me the top 5 from Kenya? Or Safaricom is all Kenya has? Note: 7 out of these 10 Firms are Nigerian indigenous firms.

rvp20182: Let assume for argument sake that Kenya gov owes it 900K employees salaries - is that comparable with 40% annual increase in price and commodities for 220M Nigerias or say 50m kenyans.
Kenya can print money - to please 0.9M gov employees - and punish 50M kenyans with inflation - if we were a Zoo with Obaboons like you.
Obaboons will never understand why Nigeria is generating poverty at industrial scale - it because of printing by Buhari that has created inflation - that annually reduce the purchasing power of Naira - and make Nigerians poorer and poorer - as their are salaries and income are not inceeasing.
Kenya central bank - will not break the law to print more than 5% of the previous revenues.
Kenya and Nigeria and every country allows just 5% printing annually - this normal inflation- 5% of the average government revenue for the preceding three years. This is what gov treasury are allowed to draw as overdraft - anything above that - you're irresponsible and criminal.
Buhari ended up printing 3000%!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 50B dollars - That is criminal irresponsibility - but Nigerians - majority dont even know why they are getting poorer - they have no intelligence or education - to connect the dots - left by a goat herding Buhari. If you can print money better print money now to save your ass. |

Safaricom just got started in Ethiopia..110m backwater...so in 3yrs Safaricom will be behemoth False. MTN Nig made 2 trillion naira last year and Airtel made almost same. https://thewhistler.ng/i-will-soon-start-earning-revenue-that-is-higher-than-ghanas-gdp-from-all-my-companies-dangote/ Lol, he didn't put it that exact same way though. However, he would likely list the Dangote refinery in a bigger stock market that can absorb it, probably London stock market and then Nigeria and South Africa because the value of the business should be worth 63 Billion dollars in market cap by calculations from experts. The Nigerian total market cap is around 65 Billion dollars. So if you add that Dangote refinery market cap to just his cement alone (which is already at 10 Billion dollars on the Nigerian stock exchange) and other businesses, you are talking close to 80 Billion dollars. |
