I jave not agreed with Yorubakwe for a long time but he is right on this one

Had Osibanjo been on the ballot, Northern Muslims may not have voted for him
Especially with that naira redesign saga. As northern muslims refuse him, Obi would have convinced Southern Christians more that Osinbanjo and APC brought in the bad policy naira redesign.

Asiwaju was ahead of them by criticising the policy first and insinuating that some of his party members and cabals in ASO Rock were doing it to target him thereby gaining the sympathy of his fan base and other parts of the masses ahead of time. This confused the opposition and made them go the other way. A tactical chess game played by the Tinubu camp there spearheaded by El Rufai and Ganduje (who both got the memo on time).

With Osinbajo there, he would have tried to enumerate the beauty of the policy or defend Buhari his boss and his opponents would then be on the side of the people eating him raw.

We have new president who has openly said he doesn't like social media because of the way people attack him online and this news is just coming days before his inauguration. Hope this will not be used as an excuse to short down Facebook again.

God Bless Nigeria

FTC
He was advising fellow politicians who were complaining that their political opponents used social media to assassinate their characters. It was in this context, he advised them not to bother about social media because political opponents do thesame thing to him by abusing him or trying to get at him through social media. I don't think he was speaking against constructive criticisms from the masses that could come from social media

I don't think it's a year to year increase. This should be an increase only from Q4 or Q3 last year.
Should be just a difference in inflation rates over a quarter.

Nigeria total imports is around 50B; Kenya total imports 20B; - 2021 seems to be 52B versus 22B.
Nigeria total exports (oil is 95% of it) is 47B; Kenya total export is 11B;
This is not factual. Non oil export does an average of 20- 25%. In 2021, it was 22%.

Freely float the Naira and you'll know the it's real value - and of course the nominal GDP of Nigeria.
The rest of the mumbo-jumbo you're writting dont make much sense.
As of now we know Naira is being artificially inflated - which artificially overstate the nominal GDP of Nigeria.

Again there are many ways to cross-validate or cross-reference Nigeria and Kenya GDP that shows Nigeria at best is 2. something bigger than kenya.
Kenya with a total export of just 7.15 Billion dollars in 2021 ( with approx 50 million people in population) can't be just 2. something less than Nigeria in GDP. What's your total trade volume? Too small. Your food production? Abysmal.

The reason we are not floating the naira is to continually control our foreign debt. If we remove fuel subsidy, even when we float the naira, it would fall back to around 550 naira which is the most likely real rate.

rvp20182:
Nigeria economy if you use the real USD rate (750 Naira to USD) is half - about 200-250B - as I told you. Of course, you have Ghanian madness, where because Nigeria GDP is overcooked, you think everyone has cooked.

There are many ways to counter-check, validate and cross-reference data - and know what is cooked or not.

For example - Nigeria total banking asset is about twice Kenya (55-60B for kenya versus 100-110 for Nigeria) - Cement consumption about twice big (10M versus 20M)- name it. Check total telcom revenues from MTN, Glo, Airtel - compare to Safcom/Airtel/Telkom in kenya - about twice as big.

Conclusion - Nigeria real GDP is 200B - at best 250B.

South Africa or Egypt are real Africa giants - with 400B dollar economy - Nigeria is 3rd with 200-250B - followed by Algeria with 180-200B.
Kenya is 110-120B range.
This doesn't make sense. The wide gap between official and parallel market began properly during COVID-19 in 2020. Before then, Nigeria was still a 400-500 Billion dollar economy just like she was in 2015.

GDP doesn't automatically deplete with exchange rate depletion. It doesn't work that way.

If an economy is big, a deplete in dollar rate could sometimes also likely correspond to a measurable increase in the rate of the local currency.

For example, revenues we were making in dollars in 2015 is almost thesame as the revenues we are making now in dollars, but in naira we have quadrupled that revenue. Same thing with trade in naira. Everything eventually balances out.

There are losses we suffer from defending the official rate and a huge loss of foreign investors in our stocks and general market as well. If we unite the exchange rate or push it to 550 naira, we would stop defending the naira with millions of dollars from our foreign reserves every week and foreign investment climate would go back to 2019 levels. GDP stabilizes back to 500 Billion dollars.

A paid speech writer wrote that not Tinubu, a man whom when asked about the concerns of Nigerian workers on the rapid downfall of the naira against other currencies replied that "they shouldn't be worried because their salaries are paid in naira not dollars" showing his apparent lack of understanding on basic economics. For a start, increasing the minimum wage without first increasing our level of productivity would only lead to inflation and in times of inflation, government workers on fixed incomes suffer while business owners prosper. He needs to be lectured on the difference between nominal income and real income but he's too old and mentally weakened to learn that now.
Are your salaries paid in dollars or naira?

Hahaha ...this loss is paining PDP.
Let's look at it. Going to the election, APC has more governors, more senators, more political appointees, more money to spend, and lastly, it's the government in power.

How does PDP intend to win?
Division in PDP didn't help PDP at all where we have G5, LP, and NNPP whereas APC went into the election with their house intact.

Looking at the campaign strategy of all the parties, APC campaigned more than the other parties.

Now, let's look at these holistically without being sentimental, why will APC not win?
Looking at it as well, on thesame day, APC won the Senate seats much more than any other party. This simply means APC had roots everywhere and so it also makes sense that they won the election.

APC still dominated the Senate and House of Representatives votes which the opposition believe were less tempered with.

There's also the positive side to brain drain especially students going to further their studies. It brings in foreign investments later from successful immigrants.

If we are to go by the narrative your party sold us, then it was a religious war. A very insensitive MuMu ticket shouldn't have been allowed to set sail, if we are to uphold religious sensitivity in a nation seating on religious gun powders at the time. How come all of a sudden the man who sacrificed his opportunity to Prof. Yemi Osibanjo in a bid to douse religious tensions, all of a sudden begins to sparehead it? He had at several times won against the danger of a MuMu ticket, why then the change of tone? I thought they said he was a political strategist, how come he didn't know he was up against 2 other Muslims with more popularity in the North, if he intended to win square and fair? A kindergarten wouldn't have been so daft to tow such an already doomed line. This is why they sold the religious war propaganda against Peter Obi - knowing how damaging it could be to his career, yet they were the champions of it. The Prince of Lagos insuinating that "Christian Politicians" were incompetent. What an insult to a people, "politics is a game of numbers" - so the over 100million Christians are insignificant in the nation. If Christians are insignificant why then was the Northern Hegemony against including religious stats in the Census - because like BVAS, technology will expose their fraudulent numbers. I need people sound in politics to help me explain Tinubu's victory, and how come they are trying so hard for people to accept him. Did he really win up to 40% votes, or it was less than that; considering the disdain for his Leadership?
Well I'm happy with the MuMu ticket because going forward, religous tickets won't matter much whether Christian-Christian or MuMu.

We already have tribal politics as a headache, adding religious politics and sentiment to it is not feasible.

Do you sincerely think with a clear conscience that nothing went wrong in the elections? How did Tinubu with a Muslim-Muslim ticket competing with two other more popular Muslims in the North, win against the only popular Christian candidate during the election? Christians and Church leaders saw Tinubu's comments and ambitions as an insult and threat to her existence. He even went ahead to hire fake Bishops in a bid to feign support of Christians, yet, you saw the massive claims of Christian votes. You can argue that Christians voted Tinubu after the numerous insults, in the same light I can argue that Muslims voted Obi and Atiku enmasse. Please give valid arguments not insults, threats or trolls - we are civilized people.
This your post is just full of religious war.
