As far as I'm concerned, roads, railways, pipeborne water, electricity, and number of estates are more important hallmarks of development for a big city. It doesn't necessarily have to be skyscrapers.
AkinDS: Schemerkhiz, I will add to Isan's comments and state that one key attribute that Rash has which exceeds all the people you listed, including Oshoala is her technical skills. Her ball handling is second to none on the team.
True, except maybe Esther Okoronkwo. Also Ajibade is a ball joggler, she participates in and wins such competitions, nor be today.
gallivant: Why would the foreigners not build the skyscrapers in Accra, Abidjan or Abuja? Is Kenya some utopian wonderland? Please try not to get lost in translation..
Abuja in its initial plan and design, was not laid out to have many skyscrapers. Germany for instance, have many developed and beautiful cities but only Frankfurt has that many skyscrapers comparable to Lagos, Nairobi, or Johannesburg. Skyscraper is not necessarily development, we are just being carried away by Dubai and the U.S.

Conclusion- if you live in a "most dynamic city" its 90% likely that you live in a sh1thole.....
Schemerkhiz: Yeah, to me the Pool of 28 players sef in even too much for the AWCON, 23 should have been better and more competitive!! 3 goalies 7 Defenders 6 Midfielders 7 Forwards.
Nigeria has some of her most touristy areas in the North. Unfortunately if Southern Nigerians do not travel to these places to show them, people hardly know about them because we do not have many Northern YouTubers doing same and the Nigerian media is controlled by Southern Nigeria.
ObosiLandlord: Even though SA earn more than Nigeria, GMB didn't borrow with sense.
I would have been more happy if he borrowed to fix power supply
Power supply is still very terrible even though e don almost spend 7 years in power.
When you tell some people Nigeria is not a wealthy Nation, dem go dey follow you argue. Buhari North bring so little to the table, yet he don finish us with the way he has been borrowing.
Nigeria is a wealthy nation, we just have to find a way to get taxes from as many as possible. This is why I miss former finance minister Kemi Adeosun, she was focussed on tax reforms for revenue collection.
Shma: A huge Population in itself is a problem for underdeveloped zoos. Look at this - The proportion of zombies living below the poverty line is exponentially higher than the norm in Nigeria. 54% Poverty rate from 210m is extremely insane, to say the least. Anglo power is only reigning supreme in your fantasy head, a typical Nigerian train of thought.
rvp2018: You want to unite the country by the charisma of a leader?
Why not fix the systemic, structural and constitutional frameworks that makes division and disunity fester. Why not listen to what Ibos are saying and fix their issues for example. Why not have constitutional conference to address such issues. If it sharing natural resources - make a law that address the concern of the people.
You guys are funny for lack of a word - never too serious. You cannot unite a country for long by the charismatic talents of a leader.
Why not face your tribalism in Kenya and your systematic issues that allows only a certain family or tribe to rule? Why not address the cause of the depressing tribalism in Little India with just 46 tribes (including India )?
rvp2018: You nigerians are messed up. How the hell does an index on tech startups become a measure of quality of life in Lagos. So having 10 or 20 tech companies more than Nairobi is something to shout about. Fix the BASICS - Electricity, Water, Sewage, Roads, Rails - then come and talk. You're just very stupid delusional people I have seen.
We have more road networks and rails than Kenya, so what are you on about? My point is about electricity, think about it. If we can be doing all these without so called electricity, then your bet is as good as mine with constant electricity.
Balogunodua: What you just suggested are wishes far from reality...no one wins an election without structure, election goes beyond ordinary people on the street, there must be connection between the contestants with individual who commands respect within their locality..those capable of influencing votes..this are oligarchs, people of high caliber.. employers, civil servants etc.
You can't change that even in advance countries this is how politics play out...
Advanced countries already have a system that works that's why they can elect just anybody if they wish to. It's just like becoming the coach of Barcelona in 2012, anybody can coach that team even without great ability.
theenchanter: but without d stable electricity, our economic output still overshadow yours..... Even down to per Capita basis.
How does that now prove u right?
Isn't it surprising? They say investors don't come because we don't have peace or electricity, yet, out of 75 fastest growing companies in Africa, we have 21 and even Kenya with the electricity and better/faster Internet has 9. Lagos alone (without electricity) and with 25 million people has 65 registered companies, same as the entire Kenya. Lagos is the number 1 start up ecosystem in the continent.
Lagos is now the top startup city in Africa.
Nigeria has increased significantly, gaining five spots to rank 63rd globally. It is the highest-ranking country in Western Africa and the 3rd highest-ranking country in Africa.
Lagos, Nigeria's most populous city, has surpassed Nairobi and is now the highest-ranking city in Africa, gaining five spots to 122nd. Lagos has also ranked in the global top 50 cities for E-commerce & Retail Technology and in the global top 100 for both Transportation Technology and Education Technology.
Ibadan saw a massive increase in ranking, jumping 601 spots to 353rd globally and 2nd in Nigeria, surpassing the Nigerian capital of Abuja. The latter, ranked 3rd nationally, fell 12 spots to 466th, while Port Harcourt decreased by six spots to 906th. The newest Nigerian city in the rankings, Enugu, ranks 978th globally and 5th nationally. Benin City has increased nine spots to 979th, while Kano jumped 14 spots to 981st.
In total, Nigeria has seven cities in the global top 1000 and continues to have the highest number of ranked cities of any African nation.
rvp2018: By the time youre in consideration for president; then you meet some basic criteria; that is you've done something previously enough to be a serious candidate. Dont tell us about building primary schools and desks 25yrs ago - tell us their proposal to fix nigeria current problems.
What CHANGE are they proposing to fix electricity crisis? Any single idea. That is interesting debate.
Next Boko Haram/Fulani Cows/Cattle rustling/ Islamic extermisms? Any ideas?
Next poverty & unemployment? Any ideas.
So what has Ruto done previously that makes him capable? How do you know he can do what he promised? I am sure Uhuru also promised Heaven and Earth.
Balogunodua: Change will happen one day... But when is what we don't know.
Or how do you think we can effect change?
We can effect change if we ignore the so called political structure and vote for a credible leader based on facts. I don't want Tinubu, but you have argued points based on what he has done previously, which is a fair argument. But some people may vote for Tinubu just because he is a god father and has money to give away, heck this is the reason why PDP is leaning towards a person like Atiku. We can change it by ignoring these so called big wigs as much as we can (especially the ones who have nothing to offer) and vote for reasonable candidates based on their credentials.
Balogunodua: He will make a great President if he get the ticket...you see people like Akinwumi Adesina or Kingsley Moghalu are good for Nigeria, but they lack the structure to win election..that is just the fact we all should accept. Politics is not for the kind mind or honest type..it a dangerous game non of this two can play.
But then these hard politics we've been playing, what has it benefitted us so far?
rvp2018: Thanks goodness you're not me. But yes cows in Kenya are very valuable - because we are building world class dairy industry. That gov was head of Kenya gov milk dairy - and has done well in dairy in his county.
There are cows in kenya that will cost you even 3 million Naira.
We have definitely built Africa best dairy industry - and if Nigeria copied kenya - you could eliminate lot of poverty and fulani mess.
Exactly why Governor Muranga is my preffered candidate. Trust me, Kenyans need those free cows.
But let me ask you this: When you interview candidates for a job, what is your scoring criteria? Is it: 1) The Ideas they supposedly have( what they said they would do)? OR 2) What they have done before?
rvp2018: One would imagine these are well known personalities; and focus should be on their manifesto; what they are promising to do; their ideas; and the future. Not everything he did in the office 25yrs ago. What are they proposing to fix electricity crisis for example?
At least this focus of kenya politics - what will you do?
For example Ruto (who I am supporting) is promising amongst other things - universal health coverage -No Kenyan will pay for medication once we assume office this year because they will all be under the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover. That is our priority at Kenya Kwanza.
Raila who I dont support - is promising welfare cheque for every jobless or poor family of 6,000kshs (60 dollars) every month.
>>Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has defended his decision to give unemployed Kenyans Ksh6,000 monthly stipend noting that the state had enough money to set up the Ksh100 billion Social Welfare Fund.
One joke - governor of muranga - is promising every kenya a cow
>>“Some say that they will give out Ksh.6,000 to the needy but my government will provide every Kenyan citizen with a cow.One home, one cow, and I will make this come true. I want to start it before being elected as President,” he explained.
If I were you, I would vote the Governor of Muranga.
Balogunodua: What do you mean by Tinubu of 1999 to Tinubu of today is there any scientific evidence that says an old man can't perform as a President abi weytin u dey talk?
Answer to the bold is simple it will not final...
But why has Tinubu put Lagos under his armpit? Do you wany him to do to Nigeria what he has done to Lagos? Besides the man is now so old compared to 1999 which was 23 years ago. You can see the man's hand shaking sometimes or do you need video evidence of that?
obaaderemi: I can't support any of them. But I would have loved Tinubu for the job if he was younger and of more ruddy health.
OSinbajo is banking on buhari's support to get the presidency. If he gets it he will be beholden to the north. You can't compare him to Obasanjo. Obasanjo tried to draw in appeal from the north, west, east and south south. He gave good positions to ibos, yorubas and schemed in Jonathan, a Niger deltan. OSinbajo is another Jonathan, weak and timid.
I know Osinbajo has little balls, but comparing him to Jonathan is unfair. Jonathan is not only the weakest president we have ever had in our history but also one of the weakest politicians in Nigerian history. Also, Osinbajo would definitely not be as clueless as Jonathan, besides he has a better CV and he is a lawyer. Remember how he stood up to Obasanjo in those days, remember how he sacked that DSS leader, he definitely may have little balls but some balls anyway, Jonathan had no balls whatsoever.
obaaderemi: That Osinbajo guy will be a tool in the hands of the northerners. He can't be a good president.
So then who are you supporting? You think Tinubu would not be a tool? Remember many Nigerians had thesame notion of Obasanjo, but in the end we saw how Obasanjo leaned towards the North even more than his Southwest. Tinubu in his consultation visited Babangida, the man who annulled June 12th election, Osinbanjo didn't do that.
