I fear this passing deficiency. Algeria showed us they can bypass us easily with triangular passes and cheeky 1-2 passes to beat whatever press and create large spaces. We need to stop the crappy 2on1 marking we did in the group stage. Dem go too suffer our ladies if we don't fix up this aspect in the middle and defense. The attack still got good passes sha.

It wasn’t that prevalent with Alozie, Ohale and Plumptre though. I don’t think those ones do the 2 on 1 marking like the home based defenders.

As for the Cooking Gas thing, Dangote is not producing it but rather getting it from LNG, the same source the Marketers are getting it from.

I can only understand and sympathise with them if they are getting it at a price higher than what Dangote get.

This headline has many hidden meanings. Like Dangote or hate him, the masses are the ones being played here. Dangote came into the Cementing sector, we all other players were pushed out. We know how the price of cement went. Dangote business model is market disruption at errant, then monopoly and finally the masses pay massively for the only supplier.

I have people thinking my statement lacked facts, Dangote and Ibeto has been in and out of court over cement, Dangote and BUA has issues over sugar. Dangote cement is one of the priciest in the market. These are facts, Dangote business model end game is monopoly.

One thing I can say is that Madugu has slowly brought back the Nigerian style of football to the falcons (lacking since 2016) which is always big on possession and moving the ball forward but requiring some fine tuning here and there and some clinicality.

You are mistaken. Federal Government did not command anything. It was a decision of the Banks (not all Banks though) due to shortage of dollars in 2022.

It’s a bad idea to put in place fiscal structures that encourage trade deficit. That is what this policy will do. When everyone becomes mini importers , dollar rate will increase and so will everything else. We have been through this path before.
What your demand and supply argument will do is to increase price of dollar based on increasing demand. The reverse will never ever occur ( less demand for dollar). Your guess is as good as mine to what becomes of the price of most goods when this happens.

All of these things you speak of are already happening at the black market. Using your naira cards reduces the rate at which deals take place in the black/parallel market allowing official rates control the rates in all markets just like it is in most countries.

Exactly. I don’t think the old age is the problem. I think the fact that some of them have not been operating for decades is the problem. The longer a refinery (old or new) stays out of operation, the more difficult it is to revive it.
Refining is quite complex.

At this rate, we need both Onyenezide and Mercy Idoko in Falcons. They too sabi passing abeg. Especially Idoko. All I'm seeing are same problems on 2022 group stage and that's enough to sink one's morale even though they'll still top group.

Sheybi I talk say we need Oyenezide? She doesn’t have to make rough tackles but when she gets the ball she keeps the ball better and she’s always able to retrieve the second ball. Her shots are also usually very wayward though like most of the falcons except the likes of Echiegini and Plumptre.

When you have Ayinde already, you don’t need a similar player like Abiodun playing at the same time except you are playing Spain and you probably want to get a draw. Abiodun was going forward more often but if the coach wanted someone to do that, why an Abiodun who is not as experienced going forward?

But hey, Oyenezide wasn’t invited so we’ll let that be.

We have a good replacement for Alozie in the team though if the coach wants to look into it. However, we do not seem to have a good replacement for Ashleigh in this current team.

Having watched Plumptre played since the last AFCON, I can say confidently she's top among our players that is not afraid of shooting outside the box.
She has got a striker's instinct.

This is not to take anything from Echiegini,her shoot today was one that reduced the Bostwana keepers confidence.

Nah plumptre is not better than Echiegini when it comes to shooting accurately. No one comes close in this current falcons set up in my opinion.
I have followed Echiegini from time and watch her games. I watch a few highlights from Plumptre and Ordega in Saudi Arabia as well.

Plumtre

Plumptre is second and top for crossing but if Echiegini is given space to shoots 10 times, 7 would be on target (even if they don’t go in). This is how she has been from her US college days, in Juventus and at PSG currently.
Her problem is that she finds it difficult to always create that space for herself to shoot often.

It seems only Echiegini knows how to shoot in this team. Abiodun is a good player but I don’t see the need of pairing Abiodun and Ayinde together. It stifles creativity from my viewpoint and it’s way too defensive especially against weaker teams like this.

The Tunisians are really really disruptive and their defence is so organised. Goalkeeper classy.

Idiko1 saying what he did is over the bar but Deborah Abiodun needs to be cautioned by the coaches on her ill timing when going in for the tackles. She could have easily bagged a red in the Tunisia game. While her industry in midfield is well noted, her tackling is rash and ill timed. I would not want her costing us a game by picking up a red and leaving us a woman short abeg.

She should kindly watch it. Aside that, she is an important part of the team.

I thought the initial idea was to have her understudy Ayinde and be a substitute for Ayinde who was always injury prone. Ayinde and Ucheibe should always start together if they are fit.
