A wonderful ASSet to the national team.

No matter how good she is, she definitely would not be as fast as expected in my opinion. Maybe she does something extra for the team but I'm surprised.

Really promising.

Much thanks to coach Madugu for believing in these youngsters and giving them a chance.

The problem with the falcons isn't lack of support, it's incompetence on the part of the NFF. Do you realize that Nigerians haven't watched live a falcons game played in Nigeria the last 2 years or so? We've literally had to depend on independent journalist who stream these games (and that's for those of us who are die hard followers looking everywhere for links). If you done feed fans games of your team, support will literally wane. We have a better chance watching an away game than we do a home game.

Also, the NFF doesn't market the team (this isn't peculiar to the falcons). Very few people knew the game was even taking place yesterday. Also, it's common sense to choose locations where support for your team will be easy. Abuja isn't a good location for football support. We literally had to , throw the game open with free buses and plenty marketing to get the stadium filled the last super eagles world cup qualifier game with Ghana. It's on the NFF to choose locations where supporters can easily access. For now, it's either Lagos or Uyo.

I agree. When the Uyo International Airport begins operations, Uyo could become the home for the Super falcons too. Both senior national teams.

Mehn Ghanaians really support their women's team gosh and their FA never fails when it comes to television their games. Game against Namibia about to kick off. Link below.

My preferred starting line up for 2nd leg against Capeverde.

Nnadozie

Edet Ohale Demehin Rofiat

Abiodun Esther Payne

Ajibade Okoronkwo Rinsola

isan:
So payne had 4 Assists against cape Verde

I think it's 3 assists. Rofiat Imuran and Monday assisted two.

Monday assisted the first goal (You can say Payne was involved in the build up to the assist)

Rofiat Imuran gave the cross for the fifth goal.

Edit: You can even say 2 assists considering that the second goal mouth scramble.

But Kudos to Tony Payne.

BascoVanVeli:
For me she was ready for the Super Falcons after her last match at the CAF Women’s Champions League. I remember it like yesterday, the coach gave her the captains band and she went bonkers. Waldrum took too long to cap her IMO. She would have helped us at the nations cup.

Especially after that red card against Halimatu against Morocco. She probably might have been a worthy pair with Christy Ucheibe.

The two are here

Deltamani:
Tanzania Eliminated Ivory Coast, you forgot so soon that Burkina Fada played in the Last WAFCON

And Bfaso gave a good account of themselves as well in that WAFCON. Teams have improved big time.

PDPGuy:
Looks like Algeria and Tunisia will join Morocco as the North African teams in the final competition.

The women's game have really improved in North and Southern Africa.
In East Africa, Tanzania is the shining light I see. But East Africa is lagging behind the most.
WAFCON would gradually get more interesting from here on.

Deltamani:
3-5-2 won’t be Bad, but this might take Tony Payne Back to Wing Back position with Ohale, Demehin and Plumptre as 3 CB at the Back…

Alozie and Payne to Flank them…

Ayinde, Ucheibe or Abeodun and Echegini in Midfield

But who will be the top upfront??😂😂😂

You have Ajibade, Kanu, Oshoala, Onumonu, Okoronkwo, Babajide, Monday and Many more…

So this 3-5-2 go hard with the quality and number of options we have in attack

Kanu and Monday should step their game up though.

elyte89:
Dis is not even a question….with all due respect to the oda “two players”…no be by muscle or gra gra …ayinde is a class above d two, she’s calm and calculative …I will always pick a calm and calculative player over a destroyer midfielder…she’s our busquet kind of player..u will hardly c her in a match, but let d coach remove her…one will notice d large vacuum immediately

For me I can't pick. All three are good. Any two of these three are good for us.

daveP:
Ucheibe go play Declan Rice. Abiodun go play like Partey. Make Legend Ayinde get free role. How you see am? Abiodun dictated place today gaan. For now, that Toni Payne Role is uncontested. If i see anyone that has a sweet shooting accuracy, ball curver, foul winner within that 25yrds region, then Payne can be contested.

Overall, na this Selection headache suppose make nff get better tactician. Although, these Verde girls no look like they fit survive 60mins sha. But the combo is sweet.

Okoronkwo no disappoint me. 😎😎

Can't wait for dem Onyenezide and Babajide to settle fast.

You feel Payne can shoot better than Echiegini? I don't think so.

Is it just me? I kinda enjoyed the substitutes in the second half. Okoronkwo, Esther, and Rinsola.

AkinDS:
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!
That was a midfield maestro clinic she put up today.

The experience she has gained in the NCAA in such a short time, and all the focused training under Randy and the Pitt coaching team on full display here. Midfield generalship, football IQ and fully understanding of her roles and responsibilities to the letter! All I can say is: wow!

Can't wait to see JOE’s performance in the midfield with her.

It would be great to have Echiegini. Her shots are always on point. Great accuracy.

It seems this goalkeeper is trying to slow down the game but it's useless for they finish drubbed

BascoVanVeli:
I only missed Akudo in my prediction

I would have put Edet for Akuddo but I hope she does well too.

it is unfortunate Ghana export more yam abroad than Nigeria despite Nigeria larger output . Nigeria needs to work on qualify assurance

Exactly. Farmers produce and due to logistics mainly and Bandits in some areas, just distribute in a small circle, export to Chad. Niger, Cameroon or mostly have lots of stuff wasting.

If logistics were right, then we would have enough to export through the ports in Lagos or ensure more ports in.the South are fully functional for exports.

NIGERIAN YAM MARKET

ZAKI BIAM IS THE BIGGEST YAM MARKET IN THE WORLD WHERE OVER 2 MILLION TUBERS OF YAM ARE SOLD WEEKLY?

So where is Zaki Biam:
Zaki Biam, in the Ukum LGA of Benue State and has been described as the place with the biggest yam market in the world.

Nigeria is by far the largest producer of yams, accounting for over 70–76 % of the world’s production.

According to a Food and Agricultural Organization @FAO report, Nigeria averagely produces 18.3 MT of yam annually from 1.5 million hectares, representing 73.8 % of total yam production in Africa.

According to Tiv People, a blog focused on the Tivoid ethnic group mainly found in Benue state, over 2 million yam tubers are sold weekly at the market.

This market is a Hub for yam trade and a cultural and economic centre.

The market is said to have gained international recognition for its significant contribution to the yam industry and attracts buyers and sellers from all around Nigeria, Africa and the world.

“The market’s reputation for quality and quantity has made it a preferred destination for traders, exporters, and customers interested in purchasing yams in bulk.

“As you visit this market, you will witness a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Traders, farmers, and vendors engage in enthusiastic bargaining and negotiation.

“The market provides a showcase of different yam varieties, sizes, and qualities, ensuring that customers have a wide range of options to choose from,” the blog stated.

In June 2020, the FGN inaugurated a yam storage facility in Zaki Biam to store up to 200,000 tubers of yam.

The then vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, did the inauguration and explained that the market has few storage facilities, hence the storage facility’s construction.

A huge chunk of the 2 million tubers of yam sold weekly from the market in Benue state and are transported through this market located in the bustling, nostalgic, town of Zaki Biam in Ukum local government area. Between 120 and 200 truck loads of yams depart from this market on a daily basis. The yams come from various farmlands around Zaki Biam and Ukum as well as neighbouring Katsina Ala Local Government.

That was never a penalty though as it happened just outside the Box except say na me no da see well ooo

I saw thesame thing. Even the first penalty Kenya got looked like what hit the stomach of the player and not the arm except I didn't see it clearly.

The referee succombed too much to home crowd shouts and pressure.
