Anzabur: My only problem is I was diagnosed with Hepatits b. But it was a shock to me as I never felt any sign associated with hepatitis,I never knew,I taught it was a fabrication the navy did to disqualify me but when I came back I tested positive. I went for LFT,they said it has not affected any part of my body or internal system and it will go on its own. For over a year now it has not left. My question is: WHY DO THE MILITARY DISQUALIFY ONE COZ OF HEPATITIS? IS THERE A WAY OUT FOR ME OR I SHOULD JUST GIVE UP? this is the only obstacle I have. I got 2.1,24years old,1.75m,58kg,every requirement I have! Please your responses! You can treat Hepatitis B now. Go to a teaching hospital. They'll give you antiretroviral drugs. Treatment of Hepatitis B takes 6 months. But the virus can disappear from your blood before screening. Just start treatment ASAP. Wish you the very best |

Sheriff232: recommendations from who,?there are things you will never understand until you join. I spoke with an SSC officer who is now a Major and he explained in details how promotion is done. After the exams (some don't even pass mind you), there will be a board that will discuss each candidate. If they fit his character has been satisfactory and he deserves promotion, they will promote him. But if not, let him score 10000/100 they won't promote him |

Sheriff232: Very good,,IF You are within the age bracket go for ssc because there's no difference in role now, many dssc offrs are in front line now,as dssc you don't write exams hence your promotion depends on your immediate superior and commading officers whereas ssc promotion largely depends on your ability to pass your exams, weather they like you or not you will be promoted but dssc once you are charged and your PER spoilt just forget it. I totally disagree with you as per SSC . Apart from passing the exam, you have to be recommended for promotion or else stagnancy. |

2. Yes they asked me how i'll manage a Soldier I met in Coma.
3. A doctor we called "one-eyed Sunday" was amongst us and is a Lieutenant today. Cos they needed docs badly then, even those whose names weren't on the list for zonal screening were told to come and they were picked. Only 2docs were disqualified, cos one was too old and d other a Dentist had a very obvious bow leg.

lebete3000: The things that pissed me off might not necessarily piss you off. One thing for sure is, if you're hell bent on joining the army, you'll overlook a lotta things, but if you're like me interested in making things right by all means, I sorry for you.
You'll first need to meet all d requirements, then if successful, you'll be called for a Zonal screening prolly at NYSC camp in Dutse, Jigawa. This should not last more than 10days where your credentials will be screened & crook weeded out. You may need tobring an ECG report from a govt seting too or Army might do that too sha. Then you'll write an Aptitude test that'll involve OBJ questions and most likely why you wanna join the NA. Then you'll go for medicals and people will be further weeded out from here as well. After this, the people deemed fit by virtue of passing the medicals will run the 3.2km race. And there be 4boxes according to the time: 18, 25, 30, 35 mins if I can still recollect. Then you'll go for pushups, situps and obstacle crossing by scaling a 6feet wall. You'll also climb a strong rope and try to get to a very high target before getting back down again.
After all this, you'll all go home and await the final selection that'll make it to Jaji Cantonment, Kaduna- The Home of Infantry. Thanks for the detailed answer sir Please how many push ups and sit ups are we to do? 2)Did they ask you any questions in medicine in general? 3)What do you think is the fate of a doctor with a refractory error |

However some RC guys might sneak & coman serve you guys job in the middle of the night like a thief in the night.
All the above is for those that have scaled the zonal screening first. We did ours at the General Yakubu Gowon NYSC camp, Dutse, Jigawa state. How about the 3.2km race and other physical activities? Did you partake and complete the task? |

lebete3000: If this is actually the reason u wanna join and you're not just being hypocritical, then I must say I admire your altruism & patriotism, unfortunately I entered with the same mindset & I was frustrated outta d system. The Army is an institution(occultic), the army won't change for you, you're the one the army will bend and change by force.
99% of my coursemates joined the Army to bully others or to escape unemployment. I was d odd one out that joined with a pure and clean heart. I checked myself out of training eventually when I couldn't stomach d garbage anymore.
As I said majority of those joining are doing so out of frustration- @least 95% of them.
If you're truly joining to change the NA, I'll advice you to think twice b4 wasting your time and life. I just went there to waste away 4months of my precious life and I'm yet to get my balance since then. I even forgot the Dosage of common drugs like Ciprofloxacin, Metronidazole etc, cos na only Army job we dey serve for training Kula.
It's a real had I known situation. I repeat, if what you wrote above is truly your reason for joining the army, pls don't try it my brother, you will definitely regret it. It's better to join the Airforce & Navy cos they are still civilised, Armyjob na mad man job o!
Army Job!
Army Job!
Army Job!
Mad Man Job!
Craze Man Job!
Stupid Job!
I Like It!
Let's Go! Doc. I'm a colleague I'm very interested in the Army. 1)Share with us details on the DSSC screening. Please help us out so we'll be prepared psychologically. (don't postpone this time sir) 2)What were those things that pissed you off in the training that made you call it quit? 3)I hope you're writing PLAB. Cos even federal job money na small change (including institutions that pay skipping) Thanks in anticipation |

ugo4u: The problem with some Nigerians like you is the unwillingness to read(laziness), if you must have read my comment which i doubt you did with comprehension, I said start reading from page 70 most questions you guys ask here has being tackled, even if it is from page 1 will you die reading? Isn't it a plus that you are equipping yourself with every bit of info you need to excel in this quest? You claim to have a job so you can't read, and you prefer to do things the easier way, if you wanna join the army with this mentality I can only wish you goodluck. Tomorrow you will come back and ask us what is the difference between SSC and DSSC, and expect not to piss peopkle off. Even in the navy thread where lots of officers are they complain of the same redundant questions lazy applicant ask, use ur head Army is not for people seeking for shortcut in life. Ugo4u I'm not saying reading every detail is a bad idea(as I'll still do it when I'm chanced to) but I should not start reading from page 1 because I'm looking for answer to one question that someone can easily answer for me. I have just 15 hours break from work out of the total 168 hours in a week. So if you were in my shoes you'll do the same. My question isn't annoying please, as the Army won't put up questions to expect in the interview on their website. Questions like meaning of DSSC can be annoying as it's stated on the Army website. Learning to do things the easier way is a virtue called EFFICIENCY. It gets you the same result as someone who went through a harder means. This is not shortcut to life its called wisdom. You ask for directions from someone experienced. A novice is meant to be guided Peace to you Engineer |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by GeneralFeezy(m): 2:24pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
ugo4u: I believe alot of unnecessary questions can be avoided if we take our time to read the thread from the begining or atleast from page 70 upwards. Alot of questions here have being answered. We can't keep moving in circles.
For your question there is nothing like exams in Army or Airforce enlistment till you've being called for interview. So pray your name is picked first(which is done randomly). Ugo4u so you expect me to start reading from page 1 to 171 because I have a question that can easily be answered by someone with info around the corner? You must be a joker. I have a job and I don't spend all day online. Learn how to do things through the easier way please. So there's no harm in asking and besides read my question well as it was directed as GenAnsahCinC and not you. Thanks for the reply GenAnsahCinC. Jah bless |

Babatundeh26: How is the system not fair? you expect to be on par with those boys that spent 5 years in MS? why do you think it's called short service? Why can't graduates be at par with them? Their five years on analysis is that they spend 4 years on pure academics Nd 1 year on military training. So what's the difference with those who spent 4 years or more in regular universities and come to spend 9 months on pure military training? |
