Jobs/VacanciesRe: Dilemma Of A Job Seeker. Please Advice. by GeneralGaricks: 1:54pm On Nov 27, 2012
acidtalk: Sticking to the salary job isn't a bad idea though, but won't it make him backslide on his skill on art and also male his customers leave him when he can't meet up with their needs?
Tell him to calculate his income from his business less his expenses on the business for the past one year. if his profit from his business in the last one year exceeds 85,000 * 12, let him continue with his business. he has potentials, he can also add more businesses to what he is currently doing. i guess he may regret being too tied down 6 months after getting this job.

nevertheless, he may also pick the job and see if he can join the two, he still has an option of quitting the new job to continue as usual.
RomanceRe: Why Do Ladies Play Hard To Get? by GeneralGaricks: 1:40pm On Nov 27, 2012
tuyi19: The issue is that most ladies pretend alot, they love the guy and they will still be proving difficult so that the guy would not think he got them very cheap and most times they end up regretting it, my advise is that if love somebody and the person comes to you, you dont need to keep the person waiting in the name of proofing a pont that you are decent or rigig. is either the guy wicked you back after taking so long time before you say yes.
You have the nicest comment here. anything hardship you cause a partner b4 or during a relationship is mostly paid for.

I dont waste time with pretenders even if its a marriage proposal, there are people begging for what you are playing with. If you say no this second, i dont give you another second to say yes.

I only waited for a hard to get babe in my longest relationship but she later told me that "someone threatened her to stay away from me", and that was why she played hard to get.

funny indeed. a guy just stopped in the middle of the road admiring a girl yesterday and the girl had the courage to hang on the opposite side of the road responding to his questions. i wasnt surprised because the guy was blocking the road talking from behind the wheels of a Range Rover Autobiography.

ayofolajin: Another Islamic sect that emerged and goes by the name Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan had through another email exclusively sent to DESERT HERALD claimed responsibility of Monday night attack at the Headquaters of Anti Terrorist Unit at Garki in Abuja. The new group in the email had promised similar attacks against detention centres across the country. Below is the unedited excerpt of the email. In the name of Allah most Graciuos most Merciful

The Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-sudan is hereby declaring by Allah’s grace to be the responsible for the attack held on 12th Muharram, 1334 – 26th November, 2012, on S.A.R.S. detention facility in Garki area II, Abuja Nigeria.

Allah SWT has obligated us to help those that are oppressed, especially those oppressions that is taking place in the security cells, prisons and other detention centers etc. and has become part of the main functions and basics that form Jama’atu Ansasrul Muslimina fi Biladissudan.

we are stating loud and clear that many of those captured by the Nigerian security or by the Christian in Plateau state such as the women and children in Langtang, Yalwan Shandam etc to mention but a few. by Allah’s grace we are matching towards their freedom.

lastly, we are calling upon all Muslims to come and joined hands with us in carrying out this noble duty that Allah SWT has commanded us to do, Allah SWT said:”And what is the matter with you that you fight not in the cause of ALLAH, and for the feeble among men, and for women and children oppressed…”. Nisa’i:75.

CrazyMan: Interesting picture story...our Eastern governors need to sit up...our roads are bad.

Those that are familiar with the Enugu onitsha express way can attest to that.

They just have to sit up.
Yeah, Enugu to Onitsha is bad. But Enugu to 9th mile is beautiful now.

I just love travelling. Taking pictures while driving isnt easy. I commend the poster.

Car TalkRe: My Pugs Journey From Enugu To Uyo On Sunday 18th Nov 2012 (Update) by GeneralGaricks: 9:57am On Nov 20, 2012
t-die:
Just felt like sharing my trip on one of the most horrible stretches of road in East Nigeria.
I had gone to Enugu earlier on Thursday (15/11) to sort out some personal stuff and also to get my windscreen changed. The windscreen change was a disaster (Details in Peugeot thread). On driving with the car stereo off, you can hear the distinct whooshing sound of air around the edges of the windscreen from inside the car. Will try and have it sorted out at a specialist workshop here in Uyo.
Anyways I left Enugu on Sunday (18/11) around 12 pm from the beginning of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Express way (after filling my tank at the NNPC Mega Station).
The early stages of the journey were relatively smooth… I could at times get up to 120km/hr. and the journey was relatively ok up to the Lokpanta Nta Cattle Market…
The rest is best described by the pix….
Still a lot of old school vehicles on the roads… Volvo 240, Peugeot 404 pickups, 504s, 505s, W124s etc.
Apart from the very common scraping of my undercarriage on the horrible road surfaces, my 307 Pug drove like a dream… with my AL4 tranny shifting perfectly and seamlessly… Performance has improved drastically since I had my ABS sensors changed… And I was Chilling AC all through…
Got home like 5.30 pm… so that was five and half hours for a 250km Journey… We really have a long way to go o…
I love my lion to pieces…. But am beginning to think I need a second car… preferably an SUV otherwise my Peugeot would age prematurely if contionuosly used on that road… Any thoughts/opinions on the Jeep Liberty or the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder…?
…tdie
Are u sure you wont invite haters here huh So big boy. Hehehe.

mrkels: He was a LOCAL GOVT chairman for crying out loud...how was he supposed to be worth hundreds of millions? Mtcheeeeew
Dont let me expose facts to you as an insider in the financial sector. When the imprest and excess crude accounts of local governments were still operational, you needed to see money in those accounts. If he was chairman then and leaves office not making more than N800m, then he wasnt corrupt.

Thok: If u get money and u're an achiever, dont go about blowing ur trumpet.. A flamboyant lifestyle attracts both the good and the bad.
May His soul rest in peace.
True talk. I wonder why some rich men with all the wealth they display will not take with them security aides which they so much can afford. Imagine such an accomplished man dieing in the hands of assasins without any response of firepower for lack of security personnel around him.

I know some billionaires that move about without security until they suffered kidnappings then they took to security measures. This is very important especially if you like blowing your trumpet.
PoliticsRe: ''jonathan Got It Wrong On Odi''- Obasanjo by GeneralGaricks: 8:17am On Nov 20, 2012
Yaradua handled terrorists desicively in his term when he dislodged BH the first time before they regrouped under GEJ. The truth is that when such an operation as Odi and Zaki Ibiam is carried out, there are meant to be irregularities or misnoma. GEJ had the opportunity of handling BH and nipping them in the bud like Yaradua did but his personality took a better part of him coming out of the intimidation he suffered from northern elders over his election victory.

GEJ was avoiding a situation where he would be reported as fighting his political enemies with arms and could not differentiate when the political fracas of the presidential election had ended and when terrorists took over.

If GEJ had done what OBJ did to Odi or Yaradua did to BH, he would have saved many lives. I still love and respect Yaradua in his handling of BH because he targeted and got the terrorists and even presented them to pressmen before their execution not the type of OBJ operation in Odi and Zaki Ibiam where you only arrive to inspect dead bodies.

Another thing we should note is that these soldiers are human and having been with a remorse of losing their colleagues they would want to kill anything at sight during their operation(revenge missions). I blame OBJ for not giving the soldiers stern warning not to kill anyone but capture them alife(except in the face of fire power). I blame GEJ for watching helplessly as 3000 Nigerians were butchered by BH.
PoliticsRe: Lagos-ibadan Expressway: FG Kicks Out Bi-courtney, Award Contracts To Berger, RC by GeneralGaricks: 7:44am On Nov 20, 2012
I personally had reservations on that concession agreement. Do you know how many billions Bi-courtney needs to raise to fix that roadhuh Would they be able; which bank will finance it; how will they repay the interest on a long term loan like that whose money will be recouped over 25years(not days) huh Coupled with the fact that Nigerians hate toll gates on roads.

On the other hand when you havent handled projects with ministries you wont understand the miriads of frustrations such contractor could go through in the hands of ministry officials. A contractor handling a particular FG project is owing me for 6months now. A contract that was awarded to him at a cost of about N200m has been 75% completed yet the officials at the ministry in charge have disbursed only N55m. For the past 4months now, weeds have overgrown the site. Nigerian officials are inherently corrupt.

Rooneyboy: Now I've been to quite a good number of states in Naija and I can boldly say the ones that stands out.

To me, without any bias what so ever my pick is definitely ENUGU state.
The serene nature of the state is one that has no comparison .
The weather ,its people, the living standard, et.al are all welcoming and friendly .

A state that can boast of 20hours light daily.
A state were u can navigate virtually the whole metropolis with about 600 naira in ur pocket and still have a reasonable amount of change @ the end of the day...............................
To cut long story short Enugu is just it for me,
Made a decision to live long in this life and that would only be achieved if I relocate.

As for RIVERS, hmmmmm !
This town is just a glorified hell fire on earth, one never gets to see the dividends of democracy .No light,no water, no roads, expensive housing etc, truly at times I'm forced to believe the people of this state are all hypnotized.

ABUJA---- abuja is ok only with its roads , every other thing about ABJ is zero . Expensive housing , no water, no light , etc

LAGOS---- This one na survival of the fittest, u have to be an agbero to survive here, be it street or office agbero, either way , u just have to be extra smart to eke out a living in this state , like my friend that visit lag from time usually says "lagosians needs 48 hours in a day to survive".
Here dividends of democracy is still lacking and its people are not friendly @ all .

guy you funny. you just reminded that some boys during my skul days will enter molue bus and navigate from garriki to new market, a distnace of about 20km with only N30 and then board another one back. heehehe. enugu is cheap to live in.

Biafra rep: Cities i am conversant with in Nigeria and my opinion about them.
Abuja......................beautiful and classy by Naija standard but one must turn a blind eye to places like Gwagwalada, Nyanya etc
Aba........................well planned and highly commercialized but dirty and criminally neglected by the government
Enugu......................don't know it much as i only passed but did not look bad
Ibadan.....................dirty and narrow streets with a mass of mud houses and rusted roofs, arguably the worlds biggest slum, really an eyesore
P.Harcourt.................grossly overrated, remove Aba road and you have a dead town, the garden city name is an aberration.
Owerri.....................neat and beautiful with night life, especially around new owerri axis
Onitsha....................built up with high rise buildings and heavily commercialized but lacks good roads and sanity
Lagos......................has the good(V.I,Lekki and Ikoyi), bad(Okokomaiko and mile 12) and the ugly(A.J and Maroko) but still remains the centre of excellence
Calabar....................neat and beautiful, Nigeria's tourism capital
Uyo........................beautiful and emerging
i give it to you. best commentary so far. good to go. off to Aba...
TravelRe: Which Is Your Best Nigerian Cities Visited And Why? by GeneralGaricks: 2:46pm On Nov 19, 2012
Biafra rep: Yeah i do agree with you cos we have a house there(Ogbor-hill) precisely at Umola road. I have read about people condemning Aba with so much bile and i must say with all sincerity that Aba is grossly underrated. Aba needs a little cosmetic surgery(repair of bad roads and evacuation of refuse) and it will compete with the best in Nigeria, need i say that it is among the best planned cities in Nigeria with a preponderance of high rise buildings that are comparable to Onitsha and Lagos. I have traversed many cities in the south and north central including Abuja, so i know what i'm saying.
Yeah guy, Aba has alot of billionaires. the problem with Aba is the neglect it suffers from the present state government. Aba has big buildings like Lagos. A look at the structures tells you of a once beautiful cosmopolitan city. i travel alot due to business. ABA has more beautiful girls than PH. only Owerri, Enugu, and Calabar can compare Aba with respect to fine ladies.

its hard to see a businessman worth N10m driving a car in Aba. he doesnt want to deplete his business capital. na keke tinz.
