jay44: who else got an invite from morison industries plc. Pls, lets talk. I got the invite, but the invitation is just too urgent. 10:00am tomorrow. I mean, they should had put into consideration those residing outside Lagos state. What do you think about the company? What do you think (just a well calculated GUESS) their pay would be like for the Chemist/Industrial Chemist position we applied for? I am sure you reside in Lagos. I reside far away from Lagos, hence these questions. Thanks |

deltateam: What are you saying? Everyone is an entrepreneur and there will always be a difference if a graduate decides to sell purewater and someone that didn't attend school because what you learnt in school would come to play and people from my experience tend to identify with such person which further brings more success in business.
As a father I would support him. Bro, what I'm saying is that, everyone is not designed to go into entrepreneurship. Period. If you no agree with me, come beat me na. |

LoL@"Porting to romanceland." This life sha! You just got yourself a great job, and now you're gradually losing memory of how you never missed attendance on Nairaland's job thread, of how you always read all the Nigerian newspapers carrying job adverts. Then, you never knew what was 'roman-', not to talk of romanceland. All you knew then was how to seek for the grace and mercy of God to make you get that job that you had always wanted. I'm sure that was why you chose 'Godisnear' as your username on Nairaland. But now, levels don change o . Your 3rd leg in between your 2 legs has re-awakened your 3rd senses, and for the first time, it seems like you've now discovered the need to begin 'romancelanding' on Nairaland (after all, body no be firewood you don try reach ) I just hope you don't change your username from 'Godisnear' to 'Godisfar', coz na small small e dey start o Well, congrats on your new job, and I'm glad to celebrate with you this day. Ensure you don't forget God, and make sure you pay your tithe. Cheers |

eagleeye44: If you do not have atleast a 2.1 irrespective of your course of study, you would get a regret mail so also if your above 24 (i.e by the time of applying) you would equally be rejected. These two are the major criterion. However if you have a master's degree the age limit for the Executive Trainee Grade is 26. I hope this clears the air on rejection
Congrats to those who got their success mail. Work hard in the test. Access Bank has one of the best salary package for an ET about 3.6p.a.
All the best And they also request from successful applicants 6 people to open an account with them, each opening an account with at least 500k, right? And the 2 years bond thingy I guess? Now, this is scary. |

LaurelP: Like I said, I used dat as an illustration. It was u who attached "hawking" to it, I never used the word hawking in my post. And of all the examples I gave, you only saw the purewater and gala part!
What I'm saying in essence is dat generally, graduates can do well for themselves by starting small and with the knowledge they acquired in school, make something out of nothing. Thanks You're welcome. |
|
Business › Re: Excuses Graduates Give For Not Starting Their Own Business by GenerousLord: 10:42pm On May 17, 2015 |
LaurelP: 1: I gave that as an illustration. I won't be happy that my child failed to secure a job. But I would be more sad if he fails to also find something to do with the knowledge dat he acquired from school. Now I ask you, which is better; to sit at home and complain abt everytin u can complain abt on an empty stomach or to hawk the pure water and gala?
2: I've answered your question In answer to your question, none is better coz I won't be glad to see my child who must have acquired degree(s) struggling through the challenges of life by hawking sachet water and gala. What lesson is he gonna send to his younger ones when he engages in stuffs like this? I think there are better ways to come out of this unemployment mess and not the hawking of sachet water and gala. I mean, that's not the way a graduate should think even when he intends going into sachet water business. He shouldn't do it like the way a primary school leaver would do it, rather in a unique way that would expose his ingenuity. |
Business › Re: Excuses Graduates Give For Not Starting Their Own Business by GenerousLord: 8:37pm On May 17, 2015 |
In as much as I appreciate the fact that you rightly pointed out that some graduates have some ego issues that preclude them from making a huge step that will transmogrify their lives for good, I would also want to join my voice with other voices who of course do not agree entirely with your post.
OP, I'm just gonna ask you two questions, and please respond like a honest man. Q1) If you were a father, would you risk the pain of sponsoring your child's education (BSc or up to Master's degree level) knowing fully well that as soon as he graduates from the university and acquires those degrees he will drop them (the degree certificates) eventually, and go after the hawking of pure water and gala like you put it?
Q2) Do you see such an act (refering to my first question) as counter-productive, unplanned and foolish? Or to you such an act is productive, well planned and wise?
And just so you know, everyone is not designed to be an entrepreneur. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: SELF-EMPLOYMENT; The "Realest" Deal by GenerousLord: 11:44pm On May 15, 2015*. Modified: 12:39am On May 16, 2015 |
Bolade005: The purpose of this thread is to inspire unemployed and even under-employed graduates out there to give self employment a thought. I do hope someone will help me come up with an appropriate title. Thank you.
Here is my story. I completed my NYSC in 2013 with the hope of getting a job as soon as possible and start living like a man. First month, nothing. Second month, nothing. After about 5month, frustration sets in. Oh boy I wan die ehn. Between 2013 and early this year, I went for series of tests and interviews in various organisations but nothing came through.
....All this while, my dad was always telling me to think about being self-employed but my mind was on getting a decent job with a reputable company, earn a decent salary, dress corporately and all live that big life sha. Starting small wasn't my thing and my father would just leave me alone to my wahala and he continued to help me with money to travel for job tests and interviews and all without forcing his opinion on me.
....I was "WOWED" by the beauty and the things I saw that I got sick for two weeks when I received a regret mail from them. Nna ehn, I wan die.
Again, my dad called me, "oh boy, do business".
Early this year, a friend helped me secure a SALES EXECUTIVE job with another brewing company, a new company in Lagos that just began operation and they wanted to penetrate Ibadan market. I was elated at first and on meeting the owner, he offered me 20k. Imagine, 20k for a new product that's not known by anybody. I would have accepted it if I was based in Ib but I stay outside Ib. I had to think about accommodation and all so I rejected it.
On returning home, my father gave me a thorough lecture about business. I'm not sure we are financially okay to be placed in the middle class but atleast my popc dey do well in his own right. He told me about a business he's been researching on and he's done his assignment concerning the business and he would like me to handle it. He told me if I don't want, he will find someone else to do it. We discussed at lenght, talked about where to get the products, prices at different warehouses, my pman had even already helped me source for people to buy my stuff, atleast enough people for me to make a good profit on a daily basis. I told him I will think about it.
Two days later, I went to meet him that I was ready. He smiled and said good. Then he gave me a cash of 150k and an extra 35k to repair one of our old, abandoned car for transportation of my "goods". To top it all, he told me he wanted me to feel like a true SALES EXECUTIVE so he employed someone to assist me, all I had to do was drive and supervise and he promised to pay my employee for the first month and afterwards I will start paying him myself. So I employed him and we agreed on paying twelve thousand naira monthly. I went from being a job seeker to a job provider, I became an EMPLOYER of LABOUR. ....
Not to brag or anything, now I make much more money than Guinness could pay any new recruit and I am my own boss. ....Me that I talk in 2k, 5k before, I now talk in "hundred" if you get my drift. .... What manner of man is this? For I can hardly see such a man in the world today. Bro, that man you call your dad is not just a dad, but a father as well. I mean, he was there to advise you when you were wandering in the wilderness. Even when you ignorantly rejected his golden words, he never gave up on you. Eventually, you saw light in his words when he came again to drop some pieces of advice. He guided you like a father should, and gave you the necessary support you needed. And now, you are a testimony. I wish everyone had a father who could be caring and supporting like yours, then the world would had been a better place. The least you can do Bro, is to make him proud. Goodluck in your infant biz. Cheers |

Oh, you just made a confirmation on this thread that you are a kid. I wonder why you're this frustrated. How does a mere guess/prediction explain the fact that you were among the successful shortlist? I just would not feel at ease getting married to a lady that I'm 10 years and above older than. It would make me feel more like she's a daughter and not a wife.
I wouldn't wanna get married to a 20 year old gurl when I'm 30. Naaah... It's a no, no for me. Getting married to a lady of 23-27 years just when I'm 30 is just right for me.
However, 22, 28 and 29 would be allowed on rare circumstances. |

Romance › Re: Are Women The Most Wonderful Creature On Earth? by GenerousLord: 8:54am On May 13, 2015 |
BrainnewsNg: Women are the most wonderful creature I have seen on Earth, but am yet to understand why some men are busy finding faults upon faults on them.
Ok, lets look at them this way and tell me if am lying:
(1) Women are the only creature that can change their original surname just for the sake of love.
(2) They are most easiest creature to convince.
(3)They are the only creature that loves from the bottom of their hearts.
(4) They are the creature that can prefer to go to bed with an empty stomach, just to make sure that their children feeds well.
(5) They are the only creature on Earth that cries very easily, just to expose their inward disposition.
(6) They are always awake even at the dead of the night just to make sure that their children are protected.
(7) They can even sell out their cloths just to buy food for their children, and also see them smiling.
( 8 ) They are always ready to sacrifice their lives just to save the lives of their children.
(9) They are always in the kitchen inhaling the smoke without complaining, just to prepare something for their children and husband to eat.
(10) They are the only creature that can abandon their biological family and start up a new home with a stranger.
(11) Even when they are battling with the pains of pregnancy, yet, they are busy looking after their husbands and children.
Question: with all this evidence above, can we say that Women are the most Wonderful creature on earth?
Culled from: http://brainnewsng.com/are-women-the-most-wonderful-creature-on-earth-enter-to-see-great-stories-about-them/ In as much as I love this write-up, I just have to make it complete. Number 1? That can't be true. Gay men legally married weakens the argument. Number 2? Oh, the garden of Eden. Did that ring a bell? I guess Adam (a man) was easily convinced by Eve (a woman) to partake of that gadamn fruit. . So, perhaps. Number 3? I doubt. The word 'only' as used there weakens the argument. But well, you can prove me wrong. Number 4? Oh yeah, you may be right on this one. However, there are some men out there who can as well do this, though they are pretty few when compared to the number of women who do the same. Number 5? Unarguable. Number 6? *LoL* You may be right, that is if she's a witch. They are protective, no doubt. But the word 'only' weakens the argument again. Number 7? Spot on. Every thing about this is just right on the money. Number 8? Hahahahahahaha. Sacrifice their lives? Like that same thing Christ did for us? Are you for real? *LoL* Well, they do things that suggest that they can pull out a sacrifice of their lives for their children, but when it gets to that critical point, then you would see the human nature (the natural man). So, it's a no on this one. Number 9? You are only right when the lady in question is making use of coal and stove, not when she has her cylinder running non-stop. Moreover, if she doesn't do the kitchen duties, who else should? That doesn't make it seem 'wonderful'. Though, they deserve kudos for all those kitchen duties. It ain't an easy one. Number 10? 1 & 10 are interwoven. Number 11? I adore them on this one. Unique specie. In conclusion, women are one of the most wonderful creatures on earth. Thank you |

If I understood that write-up correctly, they never said it is dangerous for a lady to give a guy a nice Mouth Gig . Rather, it is dangerous for a guy to give a lady some Mouth Gig. It is dangerous because the cervix of some women houses some cancerous virus. So, I wonder why guys are lamenting. Mouth Gig for us (guys) is still very much alive |
