Spoondar: Kenya's Harambee Stars get cold reception in Nigeria. 9ja would use a 5star hotel and training centre when the come to Kenya. This is SPOONDAR from Kenya, i just feel humiliated and hurt. I got to the embassy, at about 5:10am and waited till they called in 6.30 non-immigrant and 7.00am immigrant visas and did the normal process of document submission and got in to pay my visa fee and then I sat waiting on my number to be called.
To be honest I cannot remember the window I was called to after a couple of hours but behold it was this cute and nice gentleman that the lord sent and he started with the interview.
CO: Are you Ata......
ME: I mmediately completed my name for him and he smiled.
CO: Please sign your DSP form, did the oath taking and finger print stuff...
ME: Did all required.
CO: what's your highest qualification?
ME: BA ........
CO: What year did you finish?
ME: Told him the exact year while he was going thru as I answered each question.
CO: What have you been doing Since you graduated?
ME: Told him, couldn't get a job so I worked with my mum and eventually opened a boutique, made him understand I wore pretty much what I sell so he smiled.
CO: Have you served the NYSC?
ME: Yes I have and told him what year.
CO: What was your primary assignment about?
ME: Told him was secretary to the local government between my year of service and my duties and he smiled as usual.
CO: I will give you ur visas, brings out 2 forms circles one part for visa collection and the other for USCIS payment.

It was not what I prepared for but what I expected and prayed for. If you stay the minimum stipulated period within 5 years and you're crime free, you can apply for naturalization. You'll be made to undergo a written test centred on your knowledge of American history and a background check will be carried out to scrutinize your period of stay so far. If you pass the test and come clean in the checks,on a decided day, you will be made to swear allegiance to the United States and citizenship status is bequeathed on you.

It depends on the state.I got my SSN in 4working days. Still awaiting my green card. Got my welcome pack on monday, yesterday. Reporting from LA.

THAT your green card expires does not mean your permanent residency expired. It means the plastic card is due for replacement. You can choose to remain a green card holder by renewing it but greater benefits accrues to you If you apply to naturalize. It's entirely up to you.

My experience goes thus:
I got to the american embassy around 6am and we all waited outside before a man came outside to arrange us..immigrants and non immigrants.I immediately joined the immigrant line..and we submit d appointment letter..after that we went thru all d security checks and finally got inside the building at exactly 7am..I headed to pay window20 where d cashier was..after payin 54500 I was called to submit my docs and I went back to my sit and we where all waiting for the CO's to show up..during dis time I doscovered the black angel was at the non immigrants section same with the lady in window16...a white guy showed up in window14 and he started interviewing..due to all his interview I prayed to be interviewed by him then on the second thots I jus told God dat any CO that call my number(B410) must grant my visa..after like 30 mins another guy showed up in window 15 and started interviewing selectees too..after about 2hrs of waiting I saw d guy on window 15 with my docs and he was goin thru it and nodding his head den after about 5mins my number beeped on his window...I panicked a little cos d guy denied a couple and another young man..I braced myself and went up to his window and d interview started

I have said it repeatedly here That's there's No need contacting KCC over spouse pregnancy. You only contact them for an update If your wife puts to bed after your forms have been sent across. Your wife's pregnancy will be captured in her medical result, meaning the embassy is aware of her state. If she delivers after your 2NL arrives or after your visa has been approved, that's not a problem. Write the embassy and inform them of the development. In all cases they will invite you to approach with the baby's passport for visa. If you added your son who pre-existed at the time of your eDV application, it over for you. You've been disqualified.

It's official expiration period is 10 years, a period within which you would have become a citizen. You get the gist now,right?

While the process lasts, the embassy cannot honour any application by the wife to VISIT. She's a flight risk. It doesn't also in anyway affect the guys intended citizenship plans.

Spoondar: Gentiger and other forum friends, i have this friend of mine who got selected and he is yet to get current in june i hope so. His issue is that he insist in marrying his girlfriend they've dated for 5yrs now, currently she might be 2 months old pregnant for him. When he entered the eDv he entered single, sent forms to KCC as single and now he is determined to marry the lady and fill the forms again to include her. I have warned him but he is really thorn and doesnt know what to do. Kindly give me the best answers for me to copy them and paste to him to read from you people, thanks.

SPOONDAR your advice to him is in order. It doesn't mean he's into illegality If He decides to marry. That could only toughen the process of visa procurement. If He insists on including her,Let him proceed but advice him to document every correspondence He makes with KCC on her account. They will come handy in proving his case beyond a reasonable doubt during his visa interview if his 2NL arrives with No beneficiaries.

Let him proceed with the marriage. He can file for his wife as soon as He arrived here and settles down. It could take 3 years for the wife to be current for interview.

My Fiancee and I got to the Embassy @ 6:50am, my interview letter was collected did the screening and all. I got the no B421 and made the $330 equivalent 54,500.
Later on my name and number was called up for doc verification.
My number B421 beeped at Window 13, where a young looking handsome man was, he should be in his early 30s. He denied two couples before I was called.
Me: Good morning Mr. USA
CO: Morning... Morning (smiling)
CO: Are you Mr. Nwosu
Me: Yes I am
He showed me the form I sent to KCC and asked if it was mine, said yes and asked me to sign on the pink sticker, which I did and thumb print.
CO: Do you promise to say the truth and nothing but the truth(Oath taking).
Me: I promise to say the truth.
CO: What is your highest qualification
Me: SSCE
CO: What was your best subject in school
Me: Commerce (I had C6)
CO: But you have good grade in Accounting. (B2), so can you tell me about your exam in Accounting.
Me: My exam was in two parts (objective and theory). In the objective part there are options where candidates are meant to choose from the options and then shade in and the theory part is an essay written part based on questions asked.
CO: Good... Good (shaking his head).
CO: Tell me abt some topics in Accounting.
Me: Double Column Entry and Asset. I did explanations.
CO: Can you tell me abt Agric Sc exam
Me: (I scored C4) Exam was in two part. Part 1 (objective and theory) and part 2 (Practical).
Me: (He immediately got interested on the practical aspect cos I had already mentioned objectives and theory when I earlier talked by Accounting). I brought out my wallet, hankerchief and a pen on the table as my specimen. Bla... Bla... (The guy just dey shake him head).

Me: Working with Sweet Sensation. Confectionery as Baker
CO: Wow, where did you learn it

I Am just returning from JPmorgan Chase Bank where I'd gone to open an account. My account officer sought to see my ID's, and birth certificate. One of the things she was particular about on my birth certificate was my Nigeria residential address. Thanks God my SSN card came handy. Any ID which does not reveal more about you others than your day of birth could be counter productive when you arrive here. If It's not a burden, go for a birth certificate which will serve a purpose beyond visa interview. Go for NPC birth certificate and try to process a Driver licence from FRSC for your own Good. You'll be glad you heeded.
