Chuck87: Yeah, Gentiger, I was asking how you got the AOS from your host. By mail or email? Or did they send directly to the embassy and what's the procedure? Thanks again. You won't need it. Really you won't. If you decide to process one, your host will have to do that for you and have it sent to you not to the embassy. |

Gentiger is back, fully reloaded and better informed. I have scouted around various agencies here and can guide all better. As time goes on, I'll show new immigrants how to settle down faster and get a job at the snap of the fingers. I also hope to open your eyes to the enormous business opportunities in the States. If you want to go back to school, I'll show you how without paying a penny in school fees. If you want to marry, no wahala, babes dey.
For those seeking entry visas, the guys in the house are doing a great job, which is why some of us are silent. If It's too difficult to handle, reach out and help will be on the way. I have to go back to work now. My boss is looking at me through surveillance cameras as I perform my duty hourly. Love you all. Have a great week ahead. |

Did all the security, paid the 330 dollars, submitted my docs and waited til my no was called. Window 13,14,15 and 16 showed up but later 16 left. Window 13 and 15 were very tough cos they turned down several applicant. The CO in window 14 looks nice so I was abt praying to God to allow the guy interview me when He said to me that its not about nice that its all abt what He's arranged for me. So I changed the prayer and asked Him to have His ways. CO: gud morning Me: responded gud morning Co: raise up ur hand Me: did Co: do u swear to say the truth Me: yes Co: took my finger print Interview proper: Co: what do u do? Me: I do so so Co: how many sibling do u have? Me: so so so Co: how many kids do u have Me: am single Co: congratulation, am approving your visa now. House, I prayed to God that I don't want my interview to be upto 5min but low and behold, its wasn't upto 2min self. I wasn't asked anything about my BSc, O-level, grade nothing etc. Cos several ppl were asked those questions abt what courses they did etc. Met several ppl being interviewed and I stil left them there self. God be praised forever cos His favour actually went ahead of me. Indeed faith works wonder and its just lay hold of the end results. Thanks to the house too. God bless u all. Congratulations my dear brother. |

kdgom66: @husmern I am sorry for your plight. I am a lawyer so I will advise you as to the legal implications of the agent's actions. You have not done anything wrong by using an agent(though it is imprudent because most are theives). You can sue them to recover all your money and your confirmation number. But believe me, it will be a waste of time and money because by September of this year, all processing will close for DV2013 winners. Legal proceedings take time and you don't have time on your side. So don't waste your money on lawyers. Having said that, you have three options: (1) you can accept your fate and pay them, (2)you can negotiate with them just to get your confirmation number and 2nd NL and make it clear to them you will do the rest of the processing yourself, or (3) you can force them into giving you the confirmation number by getting them arrested and detained with the threat of criminal prosecution. The third option is what I prefer. You don't need a lawyer. What you need is the help of a very senior policeman or policewoman. When they are detained and they are threatened to be prosecuted by the state(they have committed several offences already by what they did to you) with the police reminding them of the number of years they will spend behind bar, they will have to corporate. You can also use a military man sha. Another learned colleague in the house. Welcome brother. Abeg your contribution is highly welcome. Keep up with the Good works. However, rather than spend so much on police and police arrest, let him use that money to negotiate his way out. The people he's up against could also be lawyers or have access to Good lawyers. More so, you can't possibly tell the nature of the agreement that subsists between the parties. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. |

seal777: Seal777 reporting live from Houston , Texas.
Landed sunday night at the George Bush Airport aboard Qatar airways after 8 hrs stop over in doha, went through the immigration, stopped for a check on my baggade and have my dried meat ( tinko ) , ginger and knoor chicken trashed by the airport screening officials, i was advice before leaving Naija to take red cab home since my host will nto be available to pick me at the airport but i saved $46 by taking a shuttle bus for $34 ( after an intenet search for cheaper shuttle at Doha ) instead of red cab for $80 to my destination ( naija brain ? ).
I am home trying to learn the ropes, gone out sevarally using the metro bus card with effective use of the navigation on my ipad. Its a nice environment here in houston and i am hoping to enjoy every bit of it.
In the meantime, i opened an account with Bank of America already and started spending from the account.......waiting arround for my GC and SSN. I have got some job offers awaiting my documentation.
All for now, thanks all for your support Welcome home bro |

A word of advice to those just arriving. You will get lots of calls from scammers seeking for your credit card details. They will promise you government grants and jobs too fantastic to refuse all in exchange for a sign on fee which invariably will require divulging your debit/credit card details. When this starts to happen, remember you were forewarned. Additionally, I advice all immigrants to have self development goals in mind. I don't care what you graduate with in Nigeria. Until your record shows you did a program with a certification from a recognized US institution, you won't earn much. To boost your earning, you must of necessity do a program which could be a certificate, diploma or degree course. You can start out with a certificate program and gradually advance to the core programs while taking advantage of government grants. I wish everyone a happy Easter. Gentiger signing off from Los Angeles. |

junkerhill: Your data will be collected at your POE by the immigration and your green card will be mailed to you after 2weeks at most. Regarding your SSN, some states don't start processing till after 21days of entry into the America. Ask your host the address of the Social Security administration Office closest to you or you google it out. Go there apply for your SSN. For those who got issued with visas after February 1st, your GC will not be mailed or processed until you've paid the processing fee of $165. |

ifeanyi.abdul: Good day House, To God be the Glory! Interview appointment was 10am today and it was successful; After going through all security checks and making necessary payments, we were called at window 20 to submit only 1 passport photograph, 1 photocopy and original of only birth certificates for 5 of us and marriage certificate. The guy at window 20 never even demanded for our academic credentials, and we wondered why? We waited until our ticket number beeped! CO: Good afternoon US: Good afternoon CO: How are you? US: We are fine thank you, and you? He replied: very good CO: Please do your thumb prints on the machine - we both did that CO: Please raise your right hands and promise to ..... CO: To my wife, you are the principal applicant..... my wife answered yes US: We remained standing with the kids for the interview. I was not asked to go and sit down with the kids
INTERVIEW PROPER CO: What's is your highest educational qualification My wife: Answered CO: Do you have any document for this My wife: She presents Original and 1 photocopy CO: Do you have WAEC? My wife: Yes, and presents her Original WAEC and 1 photocopy CO: Everything is good, pulls out white paper and hands over to us!
To all members of this great forum, we remain eternally grateful. God bless you in your dreams!
Note: We had 2 birth certificates; the NPC, and the normal birth certificate for myself and my wife. The man at windows 20 looked at both, but choose the NPC. He remarked : your NPC certificate is a certified one (authenticated), and I said yes. We prepared so hard; asked ourselves questions and even carried 2 big albums for courtship, introduction and wedding, but CO never asked us to present any album and only asked us 2 questions during the interview proper as highlighted above. We can clearly see God's favor and hands in our interview. GENERAL ADVICE TO ALL: Please, let's not forget our God when we get to the U.S. When things are rosy, let's learn to hold on to God at such times more than when we encounter problems. Congratulations my brother. Bia wa, enemechegi. |

We got to the embassy around 6:20am and we didn’t wait for long when a man came out and asked us to cue for 6:30 non-immigrant and 7:00 Immigrant visa interview appointments. Got through all the rigorous security checks and finally entered the interview hall, paid the visa fees for our family of three, and submitted our documents at window 16. It didn’t take so long when the CO’s started showing up and the interview started. We were the second to be interviewed by the CO at window 15. He spent up to 25 minutes looking through our documents before our number flashed on the display for us to approach the counter. Wife: Mechanical Engineering CO: I can see your baby was born in the UK, tell me about him Wife: Told him baby’s DOB and few things CO: What is your highest level of education Wife: B.Ed degree CO: Tell me about your course Wife: Explains her course to the CO CO: Have you ever taught before? Wife: Only during my teaching practice, I taught Bleep Bleep Bleep CO: When did you meet your husband? Wife: Bleep Bleep Bleep CO: Where did you meet your husband Wife: Bleep town CO: were you schooling in Bleep town? Wife: I schooled in YYY town but met my husband in Bleep town, the distance is not that far, moreover our family house is in Bleep town. CO: When did you travel to the UK? Wife: DDMMYYYY CO: Did you travel together with your husband? Wife: No, he had to leave before me for his studies because my visa was not ready then. CO: When did you come back to Nigeria Wife: I can’t remember the exact date but it was Bleep month CO: Opens wife’s passport and checks to confirm the date she was stamped back into Nigeria. CO: Did you do your child naming? Wife: Yes, we did CO: Did any of your family member come over for the naming / dedication? Wife: No, it was just friends and church members CO: Can I see the pics Wife: Sure; flips album to show him pics and talks about some people in the pictures. Me: Yes, he’s a very close friend, I opened the album to show him pictures with our host, but he stops me. (I guess he realized he had spent so much time with us; about 30 mins) CO: oh don’t bother. CO: Please call your wife to come Me: I called my wife and she came to stand with me at the window carrying our baby. CO: I am satisfied. I will give you a visa today. He picks the two sheets of paper he had hidden under the counter and circles an address for us to pick up the visa on one, then started explaining the proxy pick up process and the $165 payment on the other sheet of paper.
