oayombo: There is no harm in making copies but hold originals sha.
My sister went with naira and they got their 'change' after the lady did the conversion. Me i'll advice you go with Naira, just do a 170naira to a dollar...dem go give you your balance.
That's quite a large spread. Why don't you get dollar equivalent from a reliable source at $158 instead and pocket some change? Just thinking out loud.

uniqueprivacy: greetings to everybody in the house, congratulations to all with success stories. may we continue to have good news in our lives with or without DV IJN.
@All who have had similar experience and found a way out especially those already in the state, please i have this mind bogging issue. it's about my relationship, my fiancee brought up the idea of we applying for DV lottery and i reluctantly agreed and we did applied for 2013DV separately as single, but i was fortunate to be selected, and have been granted my Visa. we got engaged last yr September hoping to get married b4 the Visa outcome, but unfortunately for me things didn't work out as planned, I mean the needed resuorces were not availabe for us to proceede with the marriage proper and now like we all know i need a lot of money for my air ticket and pocket money since my host is not a relative. The issue now is that my fiancee is insisting that i must go and see her parent and do the needful b4 i travel, but i have tried explaining things to her and she seems not to see things with me. I really love her and would go with her to the USA if i had my way, but can't due to the DV rules. she has really tried for me and had let go other suitors because of me. pls i really need your advice as to what to do. thanks for you anticipated response.
If you are convinced she's the one for you from God, please go and see her parents. Initiate the marriahe process making sure they are aware of your present financial challenges. If you go without doing anything on her head, I bet you, you won't marry her. You will see beautiful American/Nigerian babes that will make you forget her fast.

Thank you Gentiger for your observation on @mascotinme, you are not married yet you are informing KCC that you are engaged. Well I wish you luck, but be informed that there is a hit on you already and that is why KCC did not include your wife’s name. I will not be surprised if you are denied visa but I pray God to help you during your interview.
Well, since you are now married but your 2NL says you got no beneficiary, the ideal thing to do is to write the embassy and update them. But really, your chances are slim. You could be viewed as a smuggler. I wish you luck.

naas: I recent won the us DV lottery . when filling the form i said i have a first degree . i thought before my case number will be called up at the embassy i will would have obtain my degree but i have failed in my current level meaning before my case number will be treated i will not be having a degree then , so what do i do .someone is advising me to use a fake degree , will the immigration section notice the fake document .I wait brilliant contributions
Fake the result and forget the visa with a possible life ban entry to the US. You're still very much on track with your claim of degree. Just present what you got and make them know you understood your undergraduate status to mean a degree with particular emphasis on expected time of graduation. Goodluck.

femsoj: That is only if the person joins the military and becomes a citizen before 5years. You cant file for anyone until you become a citizen after 5years
Incorrect. You can. You can file to have your eligible family members join you. If your marriage is less than 2 years at the time of interview, your spouse will be placed under conditional permanent resident. I'll post links and data later to assist people intending to marry their Nigerian spouses bring them to the US legally and without much hassles.

I Hate 9ja: @ all Thinking of Bigpiper xperience @ the embassy.....it was all a success due to the unfailing mercy and grace of God,
visa lottery fees is worth the investment and risk....if Bigpiper had been on NL....his dreamz myt not become a reality....due to the constructive criticism of guru's in house following the rule of the D.V...but God made the impossible possible
i wld just advice all the Guru'z in the house to keep up the good work....and join handz togeda to put more effort so as to maximize and boost the hope and confidence of people with cases of educational requirement like bigpiper.....D.V lottery is worth the risk and cash....USA blue passport maa ni
thankz
I do not share in your views. No guru will discourage him from proceeding bearing in mind education Is one of the criteria for qualification and not the only criteria there is.

dammymye: Help me shout a big HALLELUYAH! My brothers and sisters in the house! I came i saw and i conquer with the help of God i had a successful interveiw today at Lagos embassy. Here is the experience!
I got there 5:15 am and started the security checks by 6:30 am. After all the checking and the payment has been made and documents collected (o'level certificate, birth certificate, police report, medicals, 3 passport photographs, E-passport and my university admission information page all originals and photocopies. . I waited few hours for my ticket number to be called! After i was called by this sweet black angel in window 13. I signed my forms, took the oath of truth and finger print was taken. The chatting began.
CO: good morning sir!
ME: good morning ma!
CO: Tell me what you are doing in Nigeria now?
ME: i told her.
CO: interesting!
She then told me my visa has been aproved and to pick it up next week friday at the circled address. And also handed me another sheet telling me that i should pay the immigrant fees here before livin or when i get to US. She then asked another question.
CO: have you been to US before?
ME: i answered her with smile!
CO: thank you
ME: thank you too!
All we did together was just chatting nothing really serious. We were just laughing and smiling at each other! All glory to God Almighty Who took perfect control of everything!
You my family here made it possible. Thanks to you all! I love you all! Success is surely ours IN JESUS NAME! Stay blessed house!
Congratulations once again. I pray everyone else believing God for a similar experience shall testify in Jesus name.

Not necessarily a Federal High Court. Ensure it's a High Court or any court of coordinate jurisdiction. Do not approach a magistrate or customary court for that purpose .

Allybert: The passport/visa status can actually be tracked. We were scheduled for pick up tomorrow but I tracked our passports very early this morning and it said they are ready for collection. I went there around 3pm and picked them up. My wife and I now have our visas in our hands.

If you are in Nigeria, you can track your passport or status of your visa by sending an email to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com using your passport number as the subject and as body f the email. Do not include any other information.
It's alright. It didn't work for me so won't recommend it. It caused me heartaches.

seal777: TO THE GLORY OF GOD : SEAL 777, VISA GRANTED 7 FEBRUARY, 2013. grin

I had my visa interview this morning at the Lagos embassy in what i can consider the easiest and cheapest interview by a nairalander and my visa was granted.

Depart home 6.05 am, got to the embassy gate 6.58, submit 2nl and cleared with a tag number B417, went through security check and made payment in the interview hall, called at window 15 for submission of original and photocopies of credentials and was ask to wait for my number to be called.

I was there 2 years ago for a study visa which was denied but the whole arrangement has changed compare to 2011 with all activities brought under one roof in an open hall.

I sat in the front row so as to have a better view of other people's interviews but was forced to leave my seat for an elderly woman who wanted to sit close to her son. I ended up sitting at the full glare of the slim white lady of window 16 and I would confess, she was very direct and straight to business unlike others who were very calm and much more friendly in their interviews.

After hours of waiting, I.saw the white guy in window 14 talking to another white chubby guy in the cubicle showing him my credentials in the process and few minutes after that I was called by the white guy in window 14 for my interview.

My interview lasted for less than 5 minutes and it goes thus:

Co: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning, how was your nite?
Co: Good

TOOK MY FINGER PRINT AND TAKE OATH

Co : Are you ( he mentioned my Surname ).
Me: Before he could mention it I completed the names and told him, very correct.
Co: What is your highest level of education.
Me: Bachelor of science in accounting.
Co: Which school is that?
Me: Obafemi Awolowo Univerisity, ile ife
Co: did you observe the national service?
Me: Yes
Co: Where?
Me: Kabba, Kogi state
Co: What was ur service all about?
Me: Teaching
Co: What are u doing currently?
Me: I am the Business Development Manager in my own company ( i had the registration certificate but he never ask me ).

He kept typing and later brought out one white form and circled an address and told me my application is fsvourable and should go and pick my visa next and make sure I pay the 165 dollar green card processing fee.

CO"S INTERVIEW ROLL CALL FOR THE DAY :

Black lady in window 13 :
Granted 4, Denied 2

White Guy in window 14
granted 5 visas ( including mine and curiously granted a guy his visa without WAEC.
Denied 1

(THE GUY CLAIMED HE NEVER SAT FOR WAEC IN HIS SCHOOL BECAUSE HIS PARENTS COULD NOT AFFORD 34,000 TO PAY BUT INSTEAD OPT FOR GCE WHICH IS MORE CHEAPER 6,500 ). HE NEVER TOOK WAEC AT ALL.

White lady in window 16
Granted 2 visas ( 1 dv and one other to little girl on filling )
Denied 4 married couples ( all with 2- 3 children each )
Pending 1 married ( ask to wait for appraisal of their case ) i left them there anyway.
God is my witness, my interview lasted between 2 to 4 minutes because of his typing and was the shortest and simplest of the whole interview I observed in the hall.

Kudos to Kemzone for the indepth links, very educative and informative and to other guys in the house GOD BLESS US ALL.

ALLAHU AKBAR, HIS MIGTY NAME BE PRAISED FOR HIS MERCIES.
Me: bef
Congratulations Seal.
