Career / Re: Traveling To Uk For A Homecare Nursing Job From Nigeria by gentilityndu: 5:37am On Jul 09, 2021
Lordleno:
Hello people.
Please i need your advise on this.
I am a nurse here in Nigeria and i have been trying to migrate to Uk for a nursing job position. i know about the whole process of writing CBT and IELTS. My problem is that i am stuck in IELTS.. I have not passed it yet. i have been trying since 2017 and i have written it 6 times. They cost money as well.

Recently i got a Homecare Job (nursing assistance equivalent) in Uk. I am suppose to sponsor my self to uk unlike the normal NMC UK employment that will sponsor you.

I intend to take the homecare job and travel, when i get there, i will book the cbt and IELTS again. Hopefully, if i pass it, i will registered as a nurse there. At least i will be working and preparing for it.

Please anyone in the house with experience to share concerning settling down as a home care nurse. do you encourage me to do so or i should just decline it and continue writing the IELTS and cbt until i pass it and then register with NMC UK and look for proper nursing Job.. Please i need your advise.

thanks.
The best bet for you is to take up the care job and enter Uk first. As you’re working, you can write the exam and switch as a Nurse. I’m a health care worker as well in uk. But you’re also free to follow your mind.

I don’t know why Nigerians like to discourage their brothers not to come to abroad once they find their way to out of Nigeria. I stay in Uk presently. Work is very easy to get. Most jobs pay £10( it can be less or more), let’s assume you work 12 hours per day and you can be able to work upto 28 days in months, after tax, I’m sure, u can make btw £1,600-£1800. It’s not a bad deal if you pay such as house rent(You can even get cheaper than that)... d Op dey seek attention.
Romance / Re: My Brother And The Wife Had Sex In My Room, Why Won't She Wash The Sheets? by gentilityndu: 9:00am On Feb 15, 2021
Gang90:
So guys it valentine's day, I'm really disgusted, okay I stay in my brothers house, I travelled, I came back around 2:30 I wanted to enter my room but my brother told me wait a while, with my adult mind, I realised they having some couple time, I dropped my bag in the living room and head out.

But I came back to find out the room is scattered and the bedsheet there, a responsible woman should at least wash the bed sheet noting that a grown up Male stays there.

I will be 26 this year, I had not really had sex so all these things imagining a strange woman's bodily fluids in my bedsheet is disgusting. I can take it from the side of my brother but not the wife, she disgusts me honestly, she is not my girlfriend, not my sister, not my wife, not my mother why should she expect I wash her after sex sheets for her or why can't she just pick the sheet immediately and wash it, it could have dried by now. And it really feel awful for me if I try to wash it, honestly.

This is about to be the worst valentine's day for me, I'm planning to head out and rent a room in hotel but who knows most hotel rooms will be disgusting today, what do I do please advice.

I'm hating knowing already, cause if I didn't know it could all not be so dirty to me, now my bed looks so dirty to me and I can't attempt to wash it until at least 24 hours and I will wash it soaked in hot water, I hate nonses just cause my brothers accepts you does not mean everyone in the family sees you as one flesh.
Must you bring every issue on social media? Exposing your brother and his wife here just to gain unnecessary attention.... get some sense bro!!

mimilyrics:
1. Either of your accounts as long as the money is held in the manner prescribed by UKVI.

2. Apart from the wedding certificate, you can include few pictures from the wedding and some random ones (about 5-6 should be enough, joint bills (don't worry if you have none), communication evidence for the ti.e you've been apart (WhatsApp, calls etc).
These are to show that there's a genuine and subsisting relationship between you two and not an arrangement.
Thanks I really appreciate!!

Please I want to know from those who have gotten their visas either through standard or priority, at what point do you know your visa is approved Is it stated in your decision mail?
Or you cannot know till you get your passport back and open it?

I just applied and paid for priority and courier. WIll they let me know if visa is approved at any stage before I get the passport back?

The wait for courier na wa o. Sometimes to pick up is faster to quench BP. lol

You won’t know till you receive your visa... But if you do your homework very well, u ve to be confident that you’ve been granted visa... Congrats in addy!

I was up all night trying to pay for my children's applications with my GTBANK card. The first went smoothly but the other two is different. I even tried using Stanbic. And I already booked the first appointment , hoping to link the others.

To save yourself too many stress, you would’ve used Paga... I used Paga to pay mine, it was as smooth as... keep trying, it will definitely go through.

I have error on waec dob, same year but different date and month which I sworn affidavit for. My question is, would they request for waec during visa application. If yes, is there any other way to correct it?
Secondly, do they request for birth certificate during visa application. If yes, which type can someone get.?
Thank you.[/quote] lf you’ve error in ur waec go and get affidavit to back it up. As per birth certificate, I don’t actually know wether is needed during application, but you can obtain that from National Population commission. I have dsame issue in my waec, I used affidavit.

What kind of course(s) can you change to??
I applied for Social work, the school called(through dia representative) and said, I must have 2.1 & also foreign English test. I wanted to go for Psychology in society, it’s for September. I asked for available course for January, the only course I could pick was lnternational Business. I don’t want September/October batch be so I don’t want pressure.. I don’t know when Nigeria will open dia airspace for me to return and apply for my visa. So I moved it to January, by January I will be in Nigeria to start my documentation.. when I get there I will change to any course that can benefit me in future.

Confirm that this is possible from your admin team. Some schools don't allow that switch, even when the courses are related. I know a friend that tried to switch from MSC Computer Management to full on Information and Artificial technology or so. They refused his request. International business to Psychology is a big leap.

if they refuse, I will fly with international Business, but University of Chester don’t have much problem, d school z cool.. I ve few friends there.

Not really, Psychology comprises of many field altogether. Industrial Psychology, organizational psychology , combined with my 6 years work experience in business field... so I don’t actually have much issue on that. I have 3 professional courses to back it up (project management, Human Resource management and Health & safety management), so with all ds, it can fly and I can defend it in interview if d need comes up..

My undergraduate is in Counseling Psychology and come October, I will going for my specialization which will be in Family and Child Psychology.
That’s a very nice choice u made there. Family & Child Psychology is partially related to social work, and social work in Uk is in hot demand, I believe d course will give u a better after ur study. All d best!

Good morning everyone, just joining this platform and appreciate everyone's effort to making the thread lively and educative.

I have Bsc Education( Economics) and have been teaching for 11years in a government school.
I have been offered admission to study MSc psychology conversion Or MA Education at Nottingham Trent and Sheffield hallam. 1. Now I don't really know the one to request a cas for considering that both are beneficial to my profession as a teacher.
Please Stenon and other guru's in the house should please comment which of the 2courses will benefit my teaching career more if I considering to stay back in Uk thru the tier 2 visa after studies.
2. When applying for visa do I have to get a study leave attached to my visa application.
3. Can I get teaching job with my Economics background in the Uk?
Anyway, I’m not residing in Uk, but I studied psychology in University, for you to benefit more from Psychology, u need to go deeper into it. U need to specialize in one area of psychology like Clinical Psychology, experimental psychology, social psychology, sports psychology, military psychology, forensic psychology etc, but doing ur masters in Education will give u a direct access to teaching, thats... thats my opinion, I stand a chance to be corrected!

@justwise and other Gurus in the house, I really appreciate you guys for ur patience in attending to everybody’s issue.. please I want to ask something, my waec was mistakenly registered as female instead of male, secondly, a little mistake in my date of birth (but I have affidavit for that), hope it won’t affect my admission and also during visa process embassy?

Yes you can travel with your wife if you can afford it, basically you need to have your school fees, maintenance money and that of your wife(some posts here have stated these figures)

Yes your wife can work full time while you study, actually it's a good thing because it will take off some of the financial burdens from you.
Thanks @Justwise, I appreciate!

For guy who’s married in Nigeria, he want to apply for masters in UK and take his wife along with him, probably his wife will be working while he’s schooling. Can it be possible? How much will he have in his account before submitting his application in embassy? Will both be interviewed? Please anyone that has adequate knowledge can also help out.... Thanks!
