Please has anybody used British Airways to Canada before? Do you need a transit visa for a layover at London?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by george009: 1:19pm On Aug 12, 2021
Most of them are going through USA; few ones with just 1 stop over are more than 600k.
GodsGabby:

Are you going to canada?
If yes then navigate properly.
When you use Lufthansa airline, nothing concerns you with US cos u did be stopping at Frankfurt germany then from there to toronto.
When you use klm u did be stopping at Netherlands i guess then u move.

What did you input that its bringing US?

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by george009: 1:17pm On Aug 12, 2021
Boss did you pass through USA and if yes, any need for US transit visa?

The cheap ones I'm seeing, all have 2-6hrs layover at USA
Backcheck:

On their website, just make a reservation. The prices are in USD, so after booking, you call them or chat them up to give you the Naira Equivalent. (They convert using around the official rate)

For this ticket, would one be needing a transit visa for US?

Any way to get a student's discount?

Backcheck:

I did. What questions.

Good Morning Bosses in the house; please my younger brother recently got his Visa to Canada and wants to travel to Canada by month end but the challenge right now is the ticket, he’s yet to see anything less than 480k for one way. Please who knows the cheapest way to get cheap fares to Canada, thanks

Hi Dear, Good Morning, Please Can I personally contact you as regards travelling with an adopted child to UK?

Please your help is highly needed,

Thanks
Prisscindy:

I am very sure you don't know this man, implicate who? When he handled my sister's application then ehn, he told her she couldn't combine two accounts for her and her family's application, he also said they must pay for super priority instead of priority service because she had 14 days to resume. I had to step in and told him not to worry that I'd handle it. I did and everything was fine. They got their visas including their adopted child.

Moreover, this man doesn't research that much. A rep that doesn't know that it's the date you pay for your application, ukvi will use to calculate your POF using oanda and not any benchmark. All these things are in the caseworker notes on gov.uk.

See ehn, whatever UKVI says is final. They have their criteria, if you follow it, there won't be a problem.

If they say put £10k in your account, if you put the exact thing, they won't say otherwise.

You really think UKVI will reply you and say it’s ok to carry along your little younger brother as your dependant? On what basis? The basis that he has special needs and you don’t want him to live in the village for fear of him getting bullied?

I do not work for the UKVI.
I am not God.
But as surely as morning follows night, UKVI will just laugh at you and tell you it ain’t done that way.
I would suggest you begin to activate your plan -B, as this one will not fly.
So what's the Plan B you can suggest?

Is it possible to secure admission for him in Schools for Special Needs?

Go to a court of law.
Apply to formally adopt him as your son.
The paperwork will be plenty.
When it’s all done, then good to go.
But if I was an ECO and I see that the date of adoption is June 2021, just prior to visa application, I would outrightly reject the application as the falsehood is too glaring.
Doing the paperwork now might raise a red flag, waiting for UKVI response to know the best step to take.

He is your dependent as you are the one catering for him.There are rules guy but there are exceptions.

It's better you try than you didn't.

Sure, I will try, going for his passport tomorrow. Thanks

Adopt him legally as your son. In that case you will be able to travel with him as your dependant. But you have to find out first if it is even possible to adopt your brother.
Hahaha, Sounds a bit weird adopting my brother, but sent them a mail to know the right thing to do. Thanks

Try and see if you can legally adopt him, so he becomes your dependent that way.
Yeah, that's what I intend doing but I sent a mail to UKVI Visa Queries to be sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks for your contribution.

Can you adopt him legally? A close relative once planned adopting the last sibling. I now wish I followed up to know what happened. All I know is d boy is still here in naija. I honestly didn't ask if they changed their mind for any reason as I don't think they even did a passport. Ur case I'm sure is unique, u cud ask ur school for guidance. I do hope it all works out for you. BTW, kudos to you and your dear wife, God bless you both.
Thanks for your response, I sent a mail to UKVI Visa Queries, I explained everything to them, so I'm waiting for their response, I think they're in the best position to direct me, I will keep you updated on their response. Thanks

In the actual sense of the word he is your dependant as he depends on you for his care. I think you should include him, nothing wrong with trying. Just be explicit about his condition and why you need for him to be with you. I know they state these rules but they really treat these things on a case by case basis. The other thing you could do is first send an email to the consular office seeking advice about your situation.
Thanks for your response; from their website, dependents are either your spouse or children in this case, I believe to be your biological children but he’s not my biological child, we share same parents, so how best can I present his case for best shot.

Please other persons can contribute to this, I thought it will be an easy ride with enough proof of funds but from their definition for a dependent, it’s becoming a little dicey.

Hi Bosses in the house;

I have my little autistic brother who’s 15yrs and has been living with me since 2017 due to being bullied at the village. I intend to travel with him and my wife to UK for my studies only to read here that the only dependents allowed in your application is your spouse and children.

Please house, what would be the best option to travel with him as I can’t afford to send him back to the village to stay with my parents.

Please; your responses will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Please I want to pay school fees to University of East London using Heritage Bank and a very good friend of mine that works with them told me I will be spending more using Heritage Bank to pay school fees reason being that they don't have a corresponding bank in UK and can only send USD to their corresponding bank in USA before remitting to my school.

So; I'm asking who knows the best Nigerian Bank to pay school fees to UK using Form A that debits in GBP or have a corresponding bank in UK.

Thanks

Hi House; I recently applied for my school fees refund and CIBC claims it has been processed and refunded but Access bank is insisting they’ve not received the fund.

Please who knows the best approach to take to recover the fund;

Please if you’ve requested for a school fees refund to Access bank, please kindly help out with how you went with the process.

Thanks

U just received ur BVL.. Did u get a Medical request form CIC which has been passed or did u do any Upfront medicals which has also been passed? If ur answer to the FORMER is a yes, then dts a very good sign, if ur answer to the Later is a Yes, then thats a 50-50 chance of approval.. But if the answer to both categories is a NO, then am afraid its nt a good sign at all.. Also when did u apply and what route? Keep the house updated... Peace

A quick one guys;

Where am I supposed to take my father's declaration of sponsorship to;

a Notary lawyer or to high court?

Thanks for your response.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by george009: 3:58pm On Sep 15, 2019
Thanks Bertram87;

I think I will go with your suggestion, it looked strange to me drafting letter of sponsorship for myself;

Thanks for your suggestion.
Bertram87:

Hello George009,

I am not a guru, but based on your question and from my point of view, you don’t need to draft a separate sponsorship letter for yourself. Just improvise with your SOP/LOE, explain in details how you have planned to fund yourself and also your dad’s co-sponsorship, mention he has paid for your first term tuition fee, with evidence. He should also talk about it in his letter of co-sponsorship.

And importantly explain briefly and show some proofs for how you got the money in your account. I hope you understand now? I am sure the gurus will shed more light.

Please Gurus in the house, can someone help me out with this;

I'm sponsoring myself with USD20,000 from my account and a support of 10,000USD from my father while my dad has paid the first term fees,,

Do I need to draft a letter of sponsorship for myself?

Its really confusing to me.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by george009: 11:27am On Sep 14, 2019
So I have to write a letter of sponsorship indicating am sponsoring myself and my co=sponsor being my dad is contributing USD10,000;

Its a bit strange to me, I haven't heard someone writing a letter of sponsorship for himself;

Please can someone clarify me on this;

JustMellow:

Hello George009,

Based on the information provided, it seems your application should be that of a co-sponsorship. More so, to make it official, you should write a LOS and a co-LOS for your father.

Good luck!

A quick one guys;

My Dad is supporting me with USD10,000 while I pay the remaining balance of USD3,500 and CAD10,000;

My Question is;

Will my Dad draft a letter of sponsorship or will it be Co-Sponsorship?

If Co-Sponsorship, Do I have to draft a letter of Sponsorship on my behalf?

Its a bit confusing to me, someone should help me please;

Thanks
