especially since we delight in always pointing accusing fingers at the Government alone. Did i ever tell you that our leaders are not to blame for some fuel scarcity?you consciously made those statements above bro. ![]() |
if she had died while in a visa queue, what would you have blamed?I'll wholeheartedly blame the government because its only in this country that someone will give a tesmony in the church for simply securing a visa. Have u ever see ppl queuing up for days to secure US/UK visa in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya,Britain,or Sweden. |
Where did i absolve the government of all blame? I said there would be long queues where goods are scarce. Scarcity of fuel is not new in Nigeria. There's no scarcity of refined petroleum products in the countries you mentioned, hence no queues.@texazzpete Please tell me why the leaders are not to be blame for fuel scarcity! If they are not to be blame as u pointed out for the present fuel situation , then there is failure of good leadership in our beloved country |
You didn't address the subject on ground, instead you are talking about another thang.Bros ask him abeg. texazzpete says it is normal to struggle for Petrol and its not the government fault. Just imagine queue of petrol in Saudi Arabia, Libya or Venezuella. |
@texazzpete It will not be wrong/abnormal if we start queuing up for Garri. |
Masked attackers raid a wedding party in south-eastern Turkey, killing 44 people including women and children. No comment!!! |
A 58 year old woman, Mrs Esther Ladi Abubakar who served with the Niger State Ministry of Health before her recent retirement died yesterday while waiting to buy fuel at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Mega Station in Minna. Our Correspondent gathered that the woman who was on the queue for more than four hours without success was about to buy from black marketers when she collapsed and died. According to a nephew of the deceased, Humpani Bahago, people crowded the car but did not try to help because they were scared. http://www.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=9211&Itemid=19 The 6th Largest Producer of Oil in the World what a sharp contrast Innocent ppl will keep on dying as long as we have inefficient and selfish leaders. its is sickening |
No winner yet, says Iwu …As AC, PDP want results declared Tuesday, April 28, 2009 Maurice Iwu More Stories on This Section As tension mounts over the delay in the release of the result of the Ekiti re-run election heightens, Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Maurice Iwu, has said it is only the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) that is competent to announce the results of the last Saturday’s governorship election in the state. Prof. Iwu, who made the declaration on Monday in Abuja at a press conference, however, disclosed that the REC in Ekiti State was currently indisposed. Prof. Iwu, while declaring the election inconclusive also disclosed that the re-run in the two wards in Oye has been postponed indefinitely owing to activities of thugs in the volatile town. , daily sun Opinion The problem going on in Ekiti is an acid test which clearly shows that INEC cannot conduct a peaceful and successful election now and even future. We should not fail to admit our weakness and shortcoming if privatization of INEC would be the best for this country. NITEL was a failure and we invited the GSM providers, NIGERIAN AIRWAYS has been forgotten and we now have other PRIVATE AIRLINES,we now private PENSION PROVIDERS, PART OF PHCN has also or in the process of been privatized etc It will be a nice idea if private consultant (s) takes over INEC at least to restore trust and dignity. |
They don't deserve this harsh treatment considering the fact that these guys put their lives on the line to protect our image through peace keeping in other African Countries. If they were payed as at when due, they would not have protested for their money. Considering the fact that some if not all are bread winners and have several family commitments to meet. These brave soldiers are just victims of corruption and inefficiency in the armed forces. |
am Igbo, though one of my aunts married an Igala man.You are a Middle beltan by association. We are more than happy to integrate u into our zone ify ![]() |
Granted Oil bunkering and siphoning is an adverse and direct correlation to poverty regardless, of what the statistics say. It don't require specialization in any field to understand the in-henrent relation ship between the two. All it take is common sense.I concur with you |
Bonjour chacun. Mon Français n'est pas que bon, bien que j'aie essayé d'apprendre autrefois, mais mon anglais est très bien |
Isn't the government made up of people? Yes, the problem of our country is partly with the government. And privatization is the best solution to that. It puts the destiny of the country in the hands of you and I. Isn't the government made up of people?Seun that's not the case in this country you know that. If it were to be the government of the ppl we would not be wasting state funds to have re-run elections, cancellation and other related issues And privatization is the best solution to that.I agree with you but the government has not created enabling and sustainable policies that would make SMEs to grow and strive well |
Failing state? 100% Yes. We don't need a soothsayer to tell us that Nigeria is a failing State. |
Quote from: mikeansy on Today at 12:46:07 PMThat's a good sign of a failing state. USSR did not collapse in one day. If Nigeria, INEC cannot a hold a successful election in a Local Government in Ekiti State, then Nigeria is in a big dilemma. |
it is a failing state - stay there, we have heard, stay where you are, let us suffer it alone, we dont need anyone to help us survive, at least we have been surviving it till now, it is people like you who dont have anything to contribute to the countries progress that has made it a "failed" state, so, thank you, we have heard you, British apologists - thank you, by the time wey dem rubbish your black skin, na im you go know say, failing or no failing, home is home.I respect your opinion bro. Its not easy to think the way you think you know. Honestly, am based in Naija. Myself and ppl of similar opinion will not keep mute and pretend as if all is well in this country. My country is so naturally endowed that today l had to push my car 2 miles to get one garlon (4liters) of petrol @ 750 (No thanks to the refineries that are not working). I called my friend in Niger Republic to confirm if the petrol scarcity has hitted their country, he said " My friend (in french) if l have anything better to discuss l should say it, we have enough petrol if u want" l painfully laughed and l said goodbye. If the country is good we ll commend the leaders and if they go wrong we ll bash them with words. We are just getting started Bro |

Sport can never grow in this country until those bunch of selfish and unpatriotic officials in NFA are flushed out. It is really absurd that we cannot assemble 11 good players that can take this country to the next level. Recently l learnt $200,000 disappeared into thin air, may God help this country |
We must learn to voice out our problems if we must be sincere about change in this country. I don't seems to understand why our fellow comrades in the dispora share contrary opinion anytime we point out problems affecting us. Personally l believe in one indivisible nigeria, a better nigeria, workable nigeria, where youths who are willing to make meaningful contribution to this country are given that opportunity. It can be done!!! |
What are aims/objectives? Details pls |
Let's not forget that these things are happening as a result of various combination. One of them is poverty.Extreme Poverty is a hydra headed monster bro |
Whoever would head the police should be a person that will bring positive change in the police force. Nigerians are after men of integrity. If wishes were horse, I'll prefer M.D Abubakar for the Position. The guy is hot to the Brim. |
Tpiah has made himself clear. Pls lets get back, focus on the topic and lets make meaningful contributions abeg |
hmm |
@ tombola Bros cool down now and lets focus on the topic. We should refrain from insult pls. |
As someone said recently, those people selling recharge cards and Lacasera, are they not human beings too?Nobody is saying poverty should be eradicated haba! Are we the only country with crude oil? Go to Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, Libya, Angola, Algeria etc Have u heard or come across any case a pipeline vandalization in any of these country? Please if there is kindly post them lets see. My focus is on the innocent lives we normally scarifies quarterly if not yearly and not armed robbers. Nigeria is a major oil producing country in the world yet we cannot boost of any refinery that is working to serve even half of our domestic needs. |
@ ElRazur Affirmative Bro. It was a mistake |
After all the British are the causes of our ethnic problems.100% disagree with you Bro. Our Selfish and Unpatriotic Leaders that ruled this country at various capacities (25-30yrs ago) are the architects of Nigerian current problems period. We are not the only country colonized by British or whatever. Go to Bostwana, South Africa, Egypt, Libya, Malasiya , India etc |
