Nigerian ladies are very vindictive and cunny...take them abroad and suffer fr it
The best thing is to leave them in Nigeria, although they will be sleeping around but it's better than being kicked out from d house u laboured to get
Maybe to Anglophone countries, not East Asia. East Asia has a way to conform a Black woman.

Come to think about it, migration is as old as humans. I came across a stat on Instagram that more than a quarter of a million Brits now live in Dubai. Meanwhile, we've thousands of Nigerians in the UK.

Humans will always migrate.

A friend of mine got investment for his project, then he had profit of $150k USD. Las las, the guy finally relocated to Denmark. When he wanted to leave, He put it on Nairaland here that he wanted to relocate come and see , there was nothing we didn't see and hear. Wait o, what’s happening? I thought yall hate Nigeria and will rather be in jail for eternity in America than to live as a billionaire in Nigeria? Ahaha what has changed? I thought 99% of Nigerians are poor and desperately want to leave the country? I can’t believe we still have Nigerian who want good things to happen to the country? Thought we all want evil to happen to Nigeria.

Or are yall lying on this thread? What happen to the japa wave of 2021 to 2022?
🤣🤣🤣

I had to comment because of this particular post. Truth is: many people will return abi japada within the next five years. It will much easier for those who are unmarried and without kids. But with the rising conservative movements, terrible frigid weather and stiffer competition for scarce economic resources in a place where one isn't part of the dominant group, many will move back to Nigeria.

Expect the wave of Return To Nigeria 2030 grin

This thread reminds me of a LinkedIn profile I came across recently. Dude started as a customer relations analyst at Heritage Bank spending less than eight months there before moving to KPMG where he spent almost three years then Coca-Cola at almost two years and now has stayed at McKinsey and Company for more than five years.

OP, you have to start from somewhere. The problem will be staying put aka stagnating in that somewhere.

80k that can’t last 30m minutes in the hands of some people is what you’re asking if it’s good for the month.

Life is how you make it be for you
If you don’t want to be ambitious and intend settling for less, 30k is okay for the month as long as you don’t eat food

People are rejecting 500k per month jobs because they feel it’s an insult to them, here you’re considering 80k because you got nothing to offer or skill.

Some will argue for you to accept it first and look for something better, it’s very difficult to get a job while on a job except on referrals, but it’s possible. Don’t start what you won’t know that it’s past 8 months already
Lol.

Actually, the best time to search for jobs is when is employed. Searching while unemployed is harder and prone to rejections. Someone needs to garner experience from somewhere. OP should target six months of garnering experience relevant certifications and port away. Set a timeline when you will leave the job.

An experience is better than none.

i cannot believe any sensible human being is taking sides to support or whitewash either of those 2 demons. I cannot believe what i am seeing on nairaland and other social media platforms from young Nigerians. They have turned it into South East vs South West battle. The same gimmick they used to cause disunity between their grandfathers in the 70s and 80s and 90s, they are still using it to cause division between the senseless offsprings in 2025. It is a shame
To think both regions would claim to be the most "enlightened" of all. Imagine defending the likes of IBB and Abacha in 2025 because of ethnic superiority. Na why I maintain my stance that collectively Nigerians are not intelligent.

Then your colleague is a mafia!

Even if your colleague is in tech, tech roles are controlled by mafia hiring managers who control tech jobs and they give these roles to their mafia colleagues even though they cannot do the tech job but they get protected by thier mafia colleagues in the organisation.
Any evidence to support this claim?

The reality is that the industry has shed so many roles since 2022. With so many unemployed but highly experienced people, it is very hard for newbies to crack into the industry. Also, some jobs have been offshored and the global economy isn't powering on as then. There are etch jobs, but the competition is fiercer this time. Some countries have it easier but language and visa restrictions make it harder to get a foot inside. A prominent Nigerian first class law grad who studied at Harvard even experienced severe job hunting sessions with some of his classmates returning to their home countries. Again, for the umpteenth time, OP applied to more than 200 jobs before securing his first. I applied to almost 100 and had five final interviews before getting two offers. Mind you, these were in non-English-speaking countries.

In summary, looking for a job is a job, and unfortunately is a tough job in a troubling economy.

What would you advise an art student who is not well grounded in mathematics?
Any course especially in the lingustics or theatre art space would be okay. But if the person wants a high paying job after graduation, a foundational knowledge of mathematics is critical. Foundational means secondary school mathematics.

To be fair though, there is really no job that has lost its "respect". The advice for young entrants would be to have a strong math foundation, get into a good school preferably notably a federal university/polytechnic or top-rated private university, get a good grade and be well informed of the career/academic opportunities as they come by. Also, be prepared to change locations, especially at an early stage, if necessary.

Some ignorant people will come to say "Jobs are slavery". A big lie as the world has more employees than employers, and the most successful employers once worked somewhere or places to either raise their capital and/or garner experience within a structured environment.

Apprenticeship system is clear sign of poverty in Igbo land. If you have children and have means, everyone knows that what you would give your children is education, not to go and live with one master for 10 years as a modern day slave.
That system too has even been corrupted that only few slaves are getting their entitlements at the end of the day, others are being chased away by their bosses, use and dump thing
Say whatever you wish, but the system was extremely useful and needed after the effects of the Civil War. And I do agree it needs to be reformed but shouldn't be outrightly condemned.

You won't understand its importance anyway.

Truth is that no Igbo man is a billionaire. There are just so many Igbo multimillionaires in their hundreds of thousands if not millions. A millionaire is anyone worth more than 1.5 billion Naira to under 1.5 trillion Naira. Only few Igbo men are worth up to 200 billion Naira and above and that's the Tony Elumelus, Arthur Ezes, Orji Kalus, Orjiakos etc

I'm proud of being one of the multimillionaires of Igbo extraction right from my 20s
Good to read this from someone based in the region. This was how someone accused me of lying when I challenged his belief that Arthur Eze is worth $6.5BN.

Meanwhile, Cosmas Maduka was once assessed to be worth $500M by Forbes in 2014 and Elumelu at $700M, but I cannot recall the year.

"a big beautiful ocean separating us" - This has shown to the world why the US does not mind causing problems in faraway lands such as Iraq and Libya simply because the consequences will never get to its shores.

"a war it would not win" - Every sane person knows this. Ukraine CANNOT defeat Russia, anytime, any day. Only the ignorant say otherwise.

This is why I like Donald - he says it the way it is without caring whose ox is gored.

I Believe Nigerian Men that are Poor "BEGGED" their Wives before they Agree to MARRY Them.
If you are rich or wealthy and have to beg a woman to marry you, then the issue is not about financial situation rather esteem issues.
If you are financially stable and averagely social, you will always have atleast 2 ladies in your hand at every point in time.
Ladies are not hard to get nor scarce, main issue for men are financial and long time of scarcity.
When a man has been exposed for too long to scarcity - inability to date for a very long time or no girlfriend for a very long time, it makes him appreciate little or no gifts or efforts from ladies and he is scared of losing a lady even if she is bad mannered. He is ready to manage or endure her.
He will be ready to take her bullshits.
Just a little kiss, he will always remember it or a little gift of singlet. He will remember the gesture for years. Something no one has ever given him.
You made strong points here. However, with the present alpha male gospel that's preached on social media, I want to believe a growing number of young Nigerian men are now aware of the inner strengths they have especially as their income status increases. It will take time tho and maybe na why some if not most of these men begin to "explore" immediately they get married because the attraction will now be more than they expected. It's something (immense and intense attraction from women) they've never experienced.

God will never allow these islamic countries in the Gulf to become world power because we will all be in trouble if they do.

Imagine having all the money and never caring for people who live and work in your country because they are not your citizens. And they don't even make foreigners their citizens, no matter how long they live in their country.
Why should they? When did it become mandatory for foreigners to become citizens of any country? Did Gulf States say Nigeria shouldn't utilise its oil wealth the way they used theirs?

I think this attachee mentality is why most of you people are now against the likes of Donald Trump and Elon Musk for clamping down on open borders. The aspect of confering citizenship rights on non-natives or foreigners is a recent phenomenon. Countries guard their territorial privileges.

Gulf States have built themselves and if they decide not to offer citizenship privileges to foreigners or non-natives, but offer a place where the same foreigners can make money and live safely, good deal!

In Nigeria, non-indigenes cannot be governors (paternal lineage o) of the states they reside or were born in even if they are from the same ethnic group, but you want faraway Gulf States to dash you citizenship! Disgusting hypocrites!
TravelRe: 6 Countries That Are Rich But Their Citizens Are Poor by Gerrard59(m): 11:56am On Feb 19, 2025
The first two are wrong because those migrant workers aren't citizens and would never be in the future. Rather, they are well paid considering they earn more than what they do back home. If so, the British people working in the UK are also poorly paid because back home, they are paid less than in the Middle East. It's a skill issue not a wage problem. There are almost no income taxes in some of these Gulf States.

The average Qatari, Emirati and Saudi Arabian lives a comfortable life comparable to those in the West or East Asia.

Does Nigeria really have a viable tech sector, or is it just people in tech-inscribed T-shirts with laptops hopping from one remote work hub to the next? I mean, our tech industry is basically a glorified game of "brilliant minds" with Wi-Fi.

When we're actually ready for a real tech industry, we'll be calling on the government to build a proper industrialised environment for real tech companies - think mobile phone manufacturers, satellite companies, robot factories - basically, places with actual addresses, not just free Wi-Fi and coffee.

How can we talk about a tech industry when we still import ordinary POS machines? What is you people's idea of tech? Free WiFi, website design, coding, and crypto? Walai, we are not ready.

As always, we always want to jump the process. How can we talk about modern day tech without proper industrialisation? After learning to code, what next? Look around you, apart from banks, who your coding help? Schools still struggling to pay minimum wage or market women??
This man grin

I like you.
