dentalux:Yes. The average Nigerian family shouldn't have more than a child or maximum two children. |
It seems, as well as last year, there will be a lot of very high JAMB scorers this year. Too unfortunate that JAMB stopped announcing the top scorers. |
Raalsalghul:To return home because most would. Before these proposed changes, the costs involved just to become a citizen were ridiculously high. Then imagine with say two children. I read some still carry their born born mentality enter UK. I recall one lady on Facebook narrating how she took on more shifts so she could support her husband, so they could cater for their four children. They go about birthing children anyhow, even across the Mediterranean ![]() |
ttmacoy:Yes, I later realised with my last comment before this one. I had to check the Financial Times to be sure. The increment is brutal, I won't lie. Permanent residency o, not citizenship. Black British babes go become hot commodity out-competiting cocoa. ![]() |
Basicend:Does this apply to celebrity musicians as well? Anyone who decides to imitate such a lifestyle should understand the terms and conditions involved. Such a dressing is applicable in some industries, but not other industries. |
Peerielass:Most netizens Nigerians in the Anglosphere lampoon those who don't vote for liberal parties on the basis of open borders. I wonder what they have to say now that a major darling liberal party has instituted very harsh restrictions on immigration. But damn! The restrictions are harsh! The UK is beginning to look like East Asian countries. ![]() |
hammed71:To where, please? People who cannot speak French as a second language, even with Francophone countries as neighbours, wan learn Spanish or Dutch or German? Or is it Trump's America? ![]() |
tensazangetsu20:Man, The OP has studied the British elite and society back to back. I recall his posts predicting that there will be a restriction of sorts or a new rule to ensure most people don't naturalise. Boom! It happened! Ten years to become permanent resident o ![]() The japada will be televised! Imagine selling your properties to move to the UK wth the aim of attaining British citizenship. See you, see grey hairs. ![]() |
I had to search your moniker to say "take your flowers". You predicted it and it happened. Ten years to become a naturalised British citizen! ![]() |
Lioness5280:To be fair though, humans are generally very tribal. But Nigerians lack the moral rights to accuse others, especially those who have built functioning societies of tribalism or racism. I'm glad the White man is becoming more nationalistic. Some people thought they had the monopoly of tribalism. The White man will teach them he initiated segregation. RichBoy247:We know what you meant by that sentence. So, how are you any different from Trump? Anyway Trump and his brothers in Europe will teach you people a thing or two about segregation. |
LordAdam16:So far, to be honest and fair, the Chinese have negotiated hard enough. Way much better than the Japanese during the '90s. If the Japanese had negotiated this way or even better, the Lost Decades wouldn't have happened as a result of the Plaza Accord. Ultimately, it's not just the tarrifs that the US-led West has against China, but the ferocious marketing and market overtaking by Chinese companies across the world and China's growing scientific strength. |
LordAdam16:A deal has been reached, 90 days sha. I'm yet to read the full details, but so far, tarrifs on Chinese goods will be reduced to 30% by the US and 10% on US goods by the Chinese. |
Lexusgs430:Could please break it down to how it's officially a decade? A decade to become a naturalised British citizen? Life doesn't get anymore interesting than this. ![]() |
Black tribalists complaining of White tribalism. Well, at least the White man built his society to be functioning. Build yours and invite Haitians to live with you. Even Japan offers a quick path to citizenship to Brazilians and Peruvians of Japanese ancestry. |
Zahra29:Very predictable. A Nairalander predicted this almost a year ago. Folks have to be mentally prepared to accept that they might not or will not be able to attain permanent residency due to the lengthy years and costs involved. For some, it might take almost a decade to fully become a British passport holder (alongside their family members). For that reason, if you see say it will cost you so much in terms of mental health, finances and otherwise, moving back to Nigeria shouldn't be an issue. Such is life. |
joseph1832:Any number attached to how big Uthman Dan Fodio is? Like how many hectares? Acres? |
Odidigboigbo:Also, they didn't combine both campuses of UNN. Even BusinessDay cannot be detailed enough. Chai! |
nibson:One, Nigerians aren't good debtors, regardless of income level. Two, you need electricity to power the charging stations for EV cars. For a people who complain about Band A cost of electricity, they don't have the financial capacity to buy and maintain EVs. |
billionman:The naira has serious valuation issues considering we're not a major exporting country. We need to export more non-oil and valuable products to the rest of the world. |
bolu96:Thank God you did not. I would have had issues with some posters. Many of our people tend to argue emotionally without facts. Anywhere wey belly face debate/argument gives me issues. |
2cribz:So how do owners with exotic cars in dem Lekki, VI and Abuja cope? Those oil&gas employees, crypto players etc. |
bolu96:A simple way to judge this is to check the courses and career paths chosen by top JAMB (UTME) and WAEC (WASSCE) scorers in Nigeria. The majority chose STEM/quant-based courses. The data is clear. Anyone who disagrees should provide a stronger and data driven argument. Here: https://www.nairaland.com/8184851/top-waec-scorers-2009-where and here: https://www.nairaland.com/7763389/top-jamb-scorers-where-today To add, a one-time BGS from Federal University of Markudi, whose story got on Nairaland front page, dropped out of Physics in his third year to study Philosophy and made a first class. Afterwards, he became a pastor. |
Mcslize:I will watch the video later and drop my comments. |
Mariangeles:They are not going to state it. The effects are telling today. Buhari should never have been president, and the subsidy should have been completely removed more than a decade ago. It is why to date, I don't consider anyone who campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015 to be an intelligent person. |
uvie66:Yeah, because the man will travel alone back and forth. My secondary school's classmate's sister and her husband live in Australia with their four children. Go ahead to purchase a ticket to and fro at $2K. |
They went to Burkina Faso to mine gold? What happened to Osun and, Zamfara, Plateau, Niger and Kogi? E sure me die say majority of these girls come from poor families. Another result of the born born children mentality across the country. But hey, children are blessings from God 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
Just like I told the Nairalander accountant who japa'd to Australia. Before he visits Nigeria eh, it's going be at least five years and another decade afterwards except he becomes very well-to-do. As for the children, forget about them remembering Nigeria or most of Africa aside maybe South Africa. |
If Obidients support you publicly as a politician, you are likely to lose overall. That's one phenomenon I've noticed - any group of people or person Obidients support gets to lose in the long term. I think only Donald Trump is the positive outcome. |
The boo.bs are beautiful. I love them. |
onuman:Too many naive Easterners. I wonder why so many ign.orant and largely arr.ogant Igbos campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015. |
Mariangeles:The Occupy Nigeria was a pretext to remove Jonathan. Who replaced Jonathan? How did it go for Nigeria? |
Interesting responses. Mine are: - Not learning mathematics deeply while in secondary school and in the university. - Not making a first class - Not much of an issue, but not knowing how to toast/woo ladies while in the university. |
