yes i have seen. It resulting from an electrical fault in the car engine. Some wires started to burn. It was the intervention of some people that ended the about to be inferno. And the owner who is the landlord was not around with the key. Have to break it open and disconnected the car battery

It isn't clear from what you wrote how long you've been with the company. Is this their normal way of introducing "policies"? What's your relationship with the company's "management"?
They introduce policy without formal procedure. I joined very recent. As for relationship, management don't like anyone questioning their authority. Technically a one man business

Also it isn't clear what you want to do:

Do you want to submit your BVN like everyone else and you are looking for support? Or do you want to withhold yours and you need reasons to back you up?
If it is safe to give it to them, I will gladly do. I only want to know if there is any negative effect in giving it out and how bad it could be. If it is risky with evidence, I won't give them
