sexyseun: you are so true, Most hollywood A List Actors date after some romantic movies together, they might not go beyond normal dating(like sex and stuffs, but at least dem go straff each other). How will you tell me not to get turned on while you are kissing me and smooching the hell out of me?Abi o. Lolz. Someone will now come and be forming professionalism. Funny people! People like Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens, Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray, et al even took it further. |
Kelvin Ikeduba na my man. Lolz. What happened on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith? I think we all know the answer--Brangelina! For the ones claiming professionalism, dem tell dem say Pitt and Jolie no dey professional? These things happen. We are humans! |
popson1st: Federal government to change University of Maiduguri name to Abubakar Shekau University..Una no serious. Lwtmb.* Btw, this was a decision made by a state government. |
COOU--pronounced kuu (or khu). Brings Tyrion's conversation with his brother, Jaime, in his prison cell in the ninth episode of GoT's season 4 to mind. "Khu-khu-khu-khu," the brothers reminiscenced. |
@FOLYKAZE - Would you be so kind as to define "God" before I answer your two questions? |
MadCow1: MadCow: Shey You be fine boy?Lmao* |
Evergreen123: Why are you a career (e-)tribalist? Have you always been like this, or what happened? |
FOLYKAZE: What do you understand by "atheism"? |
Irèmògún, omo àwisè, Omo alágbède àkókó, Omo awúkó gbirinrinrinrin bí oni erín fon, Agufè grrrririririri bûgbè òjò iku.... *Me sef say make I unghost small. Good job, Macof! |
Another SURE-P-esque project. |
The simple thing our Nairaland financial gurus fail to understand is that no institution will borrow you money if it knows you do not have the wherewithal to pay back. For the Lagos residents complaining, last I checked, Lagos was just one of 35 states. |
DikeOha882: Lol @ghost |
SonOfEl: it seems i have to teach someone what ''too eurocentric'' means. When one's artistry suits european ideology, it means the work is eurocentric. Nobel prize is not the 'ultimate prize' for ingenuity okay? Fyi, the peace prize commitee differs from the regular prize in various fields. OtondoSee Suberu o. Why is "Things Fall Apart" popular? Is it not because the oyinbos accepted it? Or do you want to tell me it's the best novel ever written by an African? |
lanrexlan: Maybe 11.These are the ones I know of.Oga, why did you summon me? |
#BringBackGoodluck2015 in order to #BringBackOurGirls. Àwon wèrè! |
chinazaekperem2: can't you see you are the person ranting here, everybody has left you.Una no dey shame? With the super-hyper brain you possess, you lost an argument to a Yoruba boy! Olofo. |
WanaG: Not one named Styl Plus' Expressions? Sad.I have. It's a perfectly perfect album. Love it! |
Asa - Asa; 2 Face - Grass 2 Grace; Styl Plus - Expressions; Wande Coal - Mushin2Mohits; 9ice - Gongo Aso. |
DikeOha882: remembered that am arguing with a ghostIs that your escape route? |
chinazaekperem2: yorubas are the biggest tribal bigots, everybody knows that. You people don't like competition at all, your tribe is populated by sadists.Which competition? Who is competing with you guys? We all know you are the ones with the brains na. |
SolOfEl - The Nobel prize is "political and too Eurocentric," yet non-Europeans keep winning it! Or are Soyinka, Gordimer, Mandela, Tutu, Sirleaf Europeans. Tell me, what scientific discovery of yours warrants a Nobel prize and the author was denied? Same goes for the peace prize, chemistry, literature, etc. Local champions! Forget not that all the prizes--the notable ones--you chest-beaters shout about were nominated and voted for - politics. |
@SonOfEl - And, remember, this isn't about Achebe. It's, rather, about you guys making mouth about your global influence when not one of you(rs) is/was a Nobel prize winner. Remember, there are different categories. |
SonOfEl: nadine gordimer was also a nobel prize winner, yet she called achebe the father of mordern african literature. Mandela, a joint nobel winner with de klerk, eulogized achebe's literary prowness as part of what liberated him, ...talk about influence and greatness!I take it you know what WS had to say about who call someone the father of African literature. Anyway, anyone can call anyone anything. Just like some are saying GEJ is on Lee Kwan Yew's level. |
DikeOha882: story for the gods, we are global player not local players.Folklore for the deities. |
I suspect this man--TB Joshua. E fit be say im don dey plan something. Lolz. |
DikeOha882: Nobel without global influence? Things fall apart was translated in to 65 languages of the world, sold over 12 million copies. The highest ever sold by an African.Agatha Christie is the bestselling author of all time. Does that mean she is better than Shakespeare? Does Harry Potter outselling any of Stephen King's series make SK inferior to JK Rowling? You guys should look to the Jews, they keep winning the Nobel prizes through the work of their hands. No be by mouth! |
@OP - You have tried! |
SonOfEl: inventors in science and tech of igbo descent surpasses that of the yoruba (if any) no offense. From emeagwali to cyprian uzoh, to ekekwe, to nwangwu, to fransisca okeke, etc. When it come to global icons, we have achebe, cardinal arinze, okonjo iweala, anyaoku, etc. Sports and entertainment? My e-ink go finish... When it comes to young international shakers, adichie, uzodinma iweala, chukuka, etc. Mehn, igbos are blessed! And how many Nobel Laureates? Local champions! |
Chinekeeeeeee!!! A teaching hospital for that matter! Now they'll come out to tell us they have the best teaching facilities in Africa when what we are seeing now is what really obtains. Ochendo, dia ris God o! |
It's nice to see private uni graduates standing up to those with jaundiced views on this thread. I have friends who graduated from private uni, and they are free, exposed, friendly, intellectually sound, open to arguments from all angle, etcetera etcetera. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the "popular" thought that you have to undergo hardship (and sufferness) before you achieve anything vital--the OP & his ilk on my mind here--is a symptom of the the sick state this nation has been in for so long |
Jesus wept! |
O.N.I.T.S.H.A!!! |
