Uber driving doesn't fall into any of those.

So be wise, sit back and think straight.

Even if radautoworks gives me a 5yrs free rent on the island as a uber driver I'll lease it out and move to places like badagry, ikorodu, sango, magoro or outketch and get same apartment for 200k or less PA while I use the excess to buy a property.

It's not wiseness to live in lekki as a full time uber driver oooh...

Anyways, iys your life your choice shall. Who knows weather your fiance works in total esp or even Mobil self me kon dey here dey waste saliva they talk plenty.

Enjoy your ovens abeg and spend 200days moving lagos just to pay rent.

Very very true, people don’t know how to position when they are two or three trips to bonus. For example yesterday around 9 pm I realized I have 4 more trips to go and I was in Ajao Estate. No request again for more than 20 minutes and then a request to Ejibgo, No way I need short trips. I just set destination and decided to blow empty to Surulere or yaba.
Got trip to mushin from mushin to lere to Aguda to lere etc till 11:15 pm when I had to off app, request was coming like water on 1.9 surge till I got tired of driving in surge and off app.
So let nobody deceive newbies that trips are manipulated cos of bonus. Bolt no get time to dey monitor one driver cos of 13k.
Position is key in this hustle, there are some places in Lagos dt u can’t stay for more than 2mins without getting request...

Boss so as experience as you're on ehailing you don't believe what the guy is saying? Who told you it's just a programme? Pure lies.

I've made several post on this especially with Bolt. Bolt bonus is a scam, the moment they notice you're 2/3 trips to hit the bonus they either stop giving you trips, giving you long pickup or giving you long distance trips so you don't get to complete the challenge. This has happened to me severally.

3 different occasions that one I was so mad 4:30pm [i]I was in festac town for good 2hrs [/i]and not a single trip on bolt, I drove around from one street to another nothing, few minutes later I got a 2.5km PU, called rider I was coming arrived waited for more than 10min I didn't see rider the moment I called "rider cancelled", I smiled. Turned on my Indriver app. Got a trip immediately to island and left my Bolt app on to c how far. I asked My rider to request me with her phone while we where in serious traffic around 2nd gate under that bridge. To my greatest surprise her request went to another driver. I needed just 1 trip to hit the 7k bonus so I'd wanted to use that trip to complete it.

Immediately the campaigned ended I started getting trips as usual I just looked at them and i laughed. But these things don't happen with Uber, they're more modest, transparent and straightforward the only odd against uber is their adamant refusal to review destination of their riders else many drivers would have jumped ship a long time.

Make sure whatever you get from it is fuelling your escape plan.
Even their bonuses are useless.
Whenever they realize you are hitting your target. They start sending you long pickups.
As if challenging you to cancel.
I usually pickup and tell the person how far I am and he will cancel.
But if you meet some wicked babes they will insist you come then cancel when u are half way there.
Just yesterday I got a pickup if 17 minutes. Outside the radius I set.
I just gave up and didn't answer.
But the recent issue is how do you guys protect your tyres and suspension now that we are entering rainy season?
Two days back I had to drop a rider in a flooded place and my back left tyre was punctured in two places.
This evening I passed through a flood and dropped a rider. As soon as we exited the flood I heard my front left tyre hissing.
I came out to meet it flat. I suspect it's even damaged.
The rider fee of 1.8k minus bolt commission and my fuel is nothing compared to the cost of getting another tyre.
So please do you guys have any tips for reducing maintenance cost during rainy season?
Especially tyres and shock absorbers.

It is a waste of time trying to explain to them about how mileage works... At least 50% of cars that a dealer sells in Nigeria have their mileage roll back .. And for some funny reason 80k miles is usually the roll back number ........

And I say to myself how can a car that is at least over 10 years old have only 80k miles on it ......

When I wasn't driving on bolt during that lockdown period, I was home one day with my son(he was around 1 at the time) and needed to pick an item that was way billed to me at the park so I used bolt.

The driver was so impersonal and for some reasons, I didn't like it. He just maintained a straight face all through the journey like we were fighting . Now that I drive, I understand why he would have done that.

So to prevent that kind of situation, what I do is to comment on something casually like I'm talking to myself.

If the rider does not respond, I mind my business and face my steering. Those who are interested in talking will respond to me and we'll start gusting.

10. Try and fix a day in a week for your off day it's very necessary because if you die today, bolt will never shut their app down for you. Your children will become someone else child-en. Your beloved wife/husband will remarry so have sense and rest it's very important.
11. Take care of that car you're driving. Be it your own or rental make sure you take good care of it
12. If your body gives you some kind sign you never understand, call it a day and visit your doctor. Dont be ignorance and be trying mama kafaya alagbo that will damage your kidney and liver.
13. As from today, start having plan for birth control. If you have given birth to 2-4 already irrespective of any gender, please put a stop to it. So you could take care of them very well. Dont be like baba Chinedu wey want a son and started given birth to girl child until him reach 8 girls before his eye clear. You want to know what later happened to the man? Oh he later died of heart attack at the age of 56
14. Start saving from this moment on. Download piggyvest, cowrywise or join ajoo contributions.
15. Dont show off for anybody or impress anyone because you're driving big car for Uber (is very common nowadays among Moove drivers).
16. Be smart and avoid late night trips some of them are traps.
17. Whenever you have outside Lagos trip/offline, always share your riders number and location to your trusted friend, family or wife.
18. Make sure you take breakfast or have a snacks at least for breakfast you never know where your first trip will land you.
19. Never physically fight with anybody in this naija anymore till you die. Why? Majority are walking corpses dont buy market.
20. Always have a camera in your car trust me it'll help you one day.
21. If a female rider physically assaults you, never try any of your protective gadget on female riders they're bait sent by demons.
22. Let your maximum speed limits in Lagos terrain be 80km/h speed kills and if rider keeps of telling you that you're too slow, let them know you're not the reason for their lateness and you're not ambulance.
23. Don't drive recklessly simply because the car is not yours and the owner fix the car himself. Remember you're driver today and God will make everyone on rental be a car owner someday. You wouldn't like a driver mess your car too tommorow. "So please stop naija mentality of I dont care no be me go fix am"
24. Never ever in your lifetime help a rider hide anything when police do stop and search. It's very dangerous.
25. Don't ever in your lifetime listen to rider that tell you to run when police flag you down. Most of the rider that tells you to run from police are criminals and they're most likely hidden something that might cost your entire carrier.
26. Whenever a request comes in, and rider calls with statements saying please you'll borrow me so so thousand help me give that person and bring the package to soso place. Run they're fraudsters

Some Bluntly hint for Uber/Bolt Driver.
I'll be so blunt with my write ups so its not necessarily you like my comments.

1. Try as much as possible to leave house by 6.30am
2. Anywhere you're in Lagos, try and head home around 8PM at night (Nowhere is safe anymore in naija use your sense)
3. Make sure you have positive mind every day you hold your steering or you're on wheel (whenever you see on group or heard from anywhere that traffic plenty blabla bla, try and have a positive vibe that you'll make your own money out of it).
4. Always try and listen to your right instinct he never lies. (The one that will tell you Sola dont go on that trip follow it at first the left instinct will want to convince you and you'll later regret it)
5. Never try on any week days take trip early in the morning to below areas.
A. Ikorodu
B. Alakija/Apapa
C. Festac town/Ojo
D. All alimosho
E. After Sangotedo
F. Mowe
G. Add your own (Reasons, you'll likely to regret it either by traffic or not getting trip or you didn't meet your target for the day due to traffic)
6. Try as much as possible to buy food for house/home that's very necessary.
7. Never ever interact any conversation with your riders unless if they start it first and beware of whatever you're gonna say to them because majority of us all now don mad due to naija stress.
8. Buy some protective gadget e.g. pepper pray
9. Always have patience all the time especially when you carry young blood (Olosho and G boys) they dont have respect at all.

Only the lazy youths are finding it hard to achieve.
The KPI can be met by Friday or latest Saturday if challenges happened during the week.

I worked only 3 hrs yesterday and some hours on Wednesday, now see this screenshot if it can't still be met while I have been on an average of 60 trips weekly.
Keep it in mind that this has only been the week I never met the KPI by Friday.
