Iyawotuntun: So this is about weird pregnancy symptoms. For me, during first trimester, d smell of myself made me nauseous, as in I could actually smell my private part especially if I’m on only pants or I’m urinating, d thing was really odd and embarrassing but second trimester saw the end of it. I also hated the smell of pepper and boiled meat, I could tolerate other odors. Nw in third trimester, things Jst keep slipping off my hands! From key to book to biro, phone, watch name it. When I pick something I hv to make a conscious effort not to drop it, it is kind of funny and weird! So what are some of your strange pregnancy symptoms The slipping thing, didn't know that was a symptom. I broke every breakable bowl plate in my house when I was pregnant, I thought I'd break my phone screen too cuz things just kept slipping from my hands |

angeltolly: I doubt if there is a connection I suspect it puts pressure on the stiches, but it might also be from sitting for too long. I stopped both and the pain is gone. |

amorprincesa: With my first, I felt that pain too whenever my mum tied my tummy. Maybe cos I had a bad tear. I told her but she didn't believe me. She said am just trying to avoid tying my tummy. That it's better if you tie it when it's still soft.
I think you should give yourself sometime. It's weird that its stopped again, they just might be related, thanks |

TheClulssHomakr: For me o, beauty is not pain! If you're feeling crazy pain then perhaps you should give it some time? Big tummy and co will go down naturally with breastfeeding and a sensible diet. Give it some time and try again later babe. Thanks, I've stopped, lemme give it one more week |

redsocks: Just to bring this thread forward.
Greetings mamas and babies.
Has the heat gotten to you yet? The harmattan just disappeared yesterday and swapped itself with heat from hell. Rain sha fell today so let me hope the weather would get better. @everyone, do you guys think tying my tummy could be affecting the stitches I got from my tear at delivery. I felt the craziest pains down there yesterday after i tied my tummy for the 1st time day b4 yesterday and yesterday. I checked and there's a dangling thread tho every other thing still looks intact. I didn't tie my tummy today and the pain has really reduced. |

amorprincesa: You tried being there. I understand! I wasn't there o. They just took him away and brought him back. The bleeding started much later in the day, that day was hell for him, but it was just on that day sha, since then its been healing nicely. If not that I've hung booth, I'd say next time I'd make sure to hunt down a hospital that uses ring method, hopefully the pain would be less cuz the pain that came with this one was just too much. |

iaatmgirl: It's the traditional method of blade I guess. Pls put oil (penicillin as you prefer) as often as possible. Try not to touch it though, We need to keep it clean so there is no infection . also try to wear his diaper a bit free so it doesn't touch it (to avoid bruising it or making it stuck to it)
The pain while peeing wud soon go. Just remember it's an open wound so there is bound to be a little pain till it heals.
Pray speedy healing for him K Thanks a lot |

amorprincesa: Have you seen an uncircumcised d**k, my dear, it is not beautiful. And they extra extra take care of the underneath. Though it has higher sensitivity.
Me I won't follow you to carry placard. It looked fine the way it was biko. This is a very traumatic experience for me. He just pooed and peed and started bleeding and started screaming all at once. I didn't even know which one to face. All so that penis can look nice |

lady25: . Dont worry the cry won't last long. I personally prefer olive oil because u wouldn't have to touch the site and cause him more pain like you would with Vaseline or penicillin.i used ALOT of olive oil at first then when it started healing I used penicillin( ring method). I Also didn't use diaper so air can aid the speedy healing. And paracetamol for one dayDont worry Baby will be fine We should look into banning male genital mutilation . |

As you mentioned village hospital. Let me chip something in, in case they do the traditional/surgical type where one mama wud use blade to do it. Although if you have alternative, pls don't let them do this method. I don't know why this is still in practice sef.
If that approach, you may be given antibiotics, pain reliever and vit C for him. They'd put bandage after the exercise to absorb the blood. Pls pour olive oil regularly to keep it moist (the hospital actually mentioned engine oil but I can't use that on baby).
They shud instruct on when to remove the bandage or tell you to leave till it removes itself. But don't leave it too long. I was told to leave it till it removed itself but it started smelling a bit and i asked a nurse when i went for my injections. She said I cud remove it since was already a few days , i didn't have the mind so mil removed it for me. Then just continue with penicillin.
The first pee after the removal is usually painful for them. I guess cos of the open wound sha.
Let's just hope it's the ring method. Wud save you the bandage thing.
Hospitals have their own guidelines sha so ask and use extra knowledge from here to decide on what to do. We are always here for each other.
Kisses to baby I don't know what method they used but it wasn't ring. They said we can remove the bandage later this afternoon (it was done before 8am this morning). They said after removal I should start applying Vaseline mixed with mentholatum and it would heal in 2-3 days, I told them I'd be using penicillin instead and she said it's still ok. The crying is something else. How long before he stops wailing at intervals like this. |

eksbabe: Hello mums, hope you all had a productive day? Please oo mums who still have kids in creche or have once had kids in creche, is it normal for kids to come home like everyother day with one scratch or the other on the face? In a week, my son can have his face scratched like twice. I have complained tire, the excuse is “they are mostly boys and they play rough, bla bla bla”. I know kids’ nails grow long easily but i try to cut my son’s nails as often as possible. They usually list about 2 kids who always have long nails in the creche and i have said severally that on Fridays they can remind parents to cut their kids’ nails before a new week. I hope i am not overreacting on this issue, it is a frequent occurence and that is why i am bringing it here. It's not normal, complain to the proprietress or whoever supervises the creche people. If nothing is still done about it, take your child out of there please. GB once came home with a scratch, hubby started from the car park to rake for the innocent teacher that was picking up the kids , even me sef felt bad for them when he was done but it never happened again. |

Chithejoyfulmom: I'm 40weeks and 5days gone. I feel tired, I feel pains from long treks and stair climbing. I'm sad, Very heavy and lacking strength. I always put my mobile gadgets off because family and friends keep calling and asking how far. this is my second pregnancy and I don't want to go through induction again. my gynea is considering it if I don't put to bed by Monday.. please is there anything I can do to induce labor naturally... I'm tired of Google... I'm touchy, I just feel like crying,as a matter of fact I'm crying right here. This was us last week. You must not pick every call, you can always call them back next week with the good news. Don't overstress yourself, you can't be having muscle pain on the delivery table. Keep taking the long evening walks, leave stairs, by next week when you're carrying your baby, this will all be a distant memory not worth crying over. |

Mamas complaining of blocked nose should remember we're in dry season. The air is very dry and makes it hard to breath. My own nose is blocked half the time. I think all you can do is make sure they are well covered and keep helping them at night with mentholatum or steam inhalation until it passes. Anything else might just be making a mountain out of a molehill. |

Mumaraoluwa: Hello mum's, is it possible for an almost 4 months baby to have measles? I guess so and I hear measles is really dangerous in babies when detected late. So just take him to the hospital let the doctor rule it out first. |
