Throwback: Atedo Peterside: My support for Peter Obi doesn’t affect Anap/NOI polls’ integrity
Recall in 2023 Atedo Peterside, president of the Anap Foundation, says he will cast his vote for Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).
Peterside, who spoke during a programme aired on Arise TV, said his support for the LP candidate did not influence the integrity of presidential polls carried out by his organisation.
Anap is one of the most consistent and prominent pollsters conducting opinion polls ahead of the general election in Nigeria.
A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has attributed the recent defections of opposition leaders to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to threats of a witch-hunt by the ruling party.
Ologbondiyan stated that the governors and other opposition leaders defecting to the APC are merely seeking refuge to avoid being hounded by the ruling party.
“You must not forget that the former National Chairman of APC told Nigerians that just come over here, we will forgive all your sins, so people are looking for where sins are forgiven,” Ologbodiyan said on the programme.
The former PDP spokesperson, however, maintained that no matter how many opposition leaders the APC manages to attract, the party will still have to contend with millions of Nigerians in its bid to retain power in 2027.
“But you know one thing, at the end of it all, it is going to be about the Nigerians’ position. “You may pack all the 36 governors and put them in one boardroom and say they should declare for you. Have you packed the over 200 million Nigerians into the same boardroom? The answer is no,” he said.

TemmyT002: Dear Sowore, I love you but this is thrash. Obi was popular before Tinubu even thought about choosing a Muslim VP. This is one of the reasons why I didn't vote for you.
Lolquote author=floss post=135332713]Our politicians are really shameless across board… so tomorrow after wike finish with Tinubu, he goes back to pdp to pay for another position and the party will support him like it’s an achievement ?
Na we Dey do our self I swear, so truly there was nothing wrong with looting or stealing of public funds in the first place especially when you are a party member[/quote]

KaptainAfrika: Convert am to constant power supply in Abuja, Convert it to schools in Abuja that have enough chairs, table, roof and walls, and educational materials.
tuborme: Akpabio that is suffering from the diarrhea of the mouth. Someone who did not contest a primary election to become a senate president against the clear provisions of the law. The injustice you guys are entrenching in this country will not affect my family and friends negatively. Amen.
Timmi: Some people just like to think more highly of themselves. Can an ant frightens an elephant? Can a fly frightens a swap? Can a nonentity be reckoned with noble man?
DesChyko: How did you expect opposition politics to be done? We heard worse before the current party came on board. It is just sad that so many individuals who were very vocal then have lost their voice, leaving only few to shoulder the moral burden.
The Government just don't want to walk their talk, and they talked an awful lot.
Nigeria has completed the repayment of the principal amount of its $3.4bn loan from the International Monetary Fund, with the final payment made on April 30, 2025.
The loan, disbursed in full on April 30, 2020, was part of the IMF’s emergency COVID-19 Rapid Financing Instrument, aimed at helping Nigeria cope with the economic disruptions caused by the pandemic, including falling oil prices, a recession, and fiscal pressures.
Although the principal repayment has been fully settled, it was found upon further checks of the IMF website that several charges associated with the loan remain due.
These charges, which consist mainly of interest, will continue to be repaid annually for the next few years.

papyjaypaul: Vimbai was the most accurate analyst of the issue. Vimbai is an ex Big Brother Africa housemate for those who think the young people don't have sense.
She said, rightly so, that Akpabio shouldn't have used the Senate plenary, a scared place meant for proceedings on issues that affect Nigeria and Nigerians to respond to Obi. The Senators, if they are distinguished should be ashamed of how low the Senate has become for it to be abused by their elected leader. It's not about Akpabio or Obi, the Senate was disrespected by the Senate President.
Someone was asking who the best senate president was last week. I posted a video of David Mark asking his colleagues to avoid fighting and politics in the house. That was the last matured SP we had.
The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been criticised for the statement on Peter Obi.
criticised the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, over his allegedly disrespectful remarks towards Nigeria’s past heroes.
Akpabio made the criticism during the valedictory session held in honour of the late Niger Delta elder statesman and former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark.
The criticism came barely 24 hours after Obi, while eulogising Clark, claimed that the labours of Nigeria’s past heroes had ultimately been in vain due to the numerous challenges currently facing the country, particularly economic issues.
“For someone like me who just participated in the 2023 general election, he (Clark) lived a life of courage, sacrifice, justice, and value. So why do we keep saying the labours of our heroes past should not be in vain? I’m happy that Jonathan is here.
“But I can tell you, their sacrifices are in vain. They have sacrificed for nothing. We were in this country when people protested when there was no need to protest under Goodluck Jonathan. Where are those protesters now? Have they disappeared?

Giftimoni: Can you imagine Peter Obi is asking Nigerians to protest. Protest what? A government that has paid off our entire debt to the International Monetary Fund? Debt that other governments took? Peter, bring your son, Oseloka back from London to Nigeria to lead your protest, then Nigerians will know you are serious!
