BusinessRe: P&G To Dissolve Ground Operations In Nigeria, Revert To An Import-only Business by gigfx: 12:12am On Dec 07, 2023
This type of news will be a common type going forward, those coys even try to be in operation up until now. The day Emilokan said petrol subsidy has being removed, for any fast thinking citizen supposed don know all this will happen and this type is just the beginning, more coys to join and more unemployment will follow. Crime is another think that will increase.

For a govt that removed subsidy and continue spending like say nothing happen to the economy. The shame is on the cizitens especially those ones that will praise govt, on hearing some stupid promises.

Anywhere in the world, people dont praise govt, they are not using their papa or mama money, they are using our collective resources and Tax generated from me and you and coys like this one.

If all these coys close and no enough corporate tax for govt, just know that the burden go still come ontop those managing with the little job they have.

It is those tiny brain people that will be jubilating on news like this. If not that the con3 is not a serious one, by now the refinery suppose to have start working. The govt. know that they dont benefit from the refinery so they prefer to sell crude oil out the con3 to collect forex. If u think they are thinking about your welfare abeg rethink.
TravelRe: With The Current Rate Of Japa, Is Poverty Rate Exaggerated In Nigeria? by gigfx: 5:07pm On Nov 26, 2023
The reason it will be very hard for Nigeria economy to improve is that the politicians are not spending their already fat salary on the things you as citizens spend your money to buy, like foods, petrol e.t.c. reason for all the terrible policies they make.

In many advance con3, the only benefit a president enjoy is not paying for house rent during his/her tenure. All other things they buy from their salary.

But here in Nigeria you see on budget money allocated for feeding in Aso rock and so on. And same goes down to governors, local government chairmen and others.

Imagine Tinubu pikin carry presidential flight go watch polo match. All this comes from citizens sweet paying tax.

Though you are right, being poor different from person to person. For some people as long as they have Android phone and internet to browse they are rich.

And for some people they look for all basic amenities of life, if one is missing they consider that they are poor.

So being poor differ from one person to another.

Despite the fact that the con3 has been bad since Obasanjo's term, we never have it this bad.

Though you see some yahoo boys buying building up and down, apart from them na politicians alone dey make good money for Nigeria.

If you are working for any multinational coys now, you go still dey struggle unlike b4.

I don't need to stay Nigeria till when my children school will start sending reminder upon reminder for school fees even though am not paying house rent oo. I still feel all that Emiofiole policies.

Cardoso too don start him own now. I just dey imagine if I still dey Nigeria how I go survive all this them policy. And u will think all their party member are enjoying not until last week one of them call me to come borrow him money. Shame even they him voice self. But I got to pity him tho.

I sold my house and everything to Japa and I am not regretting it. Thanks to my wife that have good foresight. I know how much I pay on school fees alone in Nigeria while here school is free for my kids, I only pay for food £12 per week.

While in Nigeria before the month end like this, I am already looking for who to borrow money from to fuel car to go to work.

Within 6 months I know how much I don safe here in the UK despite working part time oo because of the kids, If I wan build another house for Nigeria I can do it but I won't.

For you to know how terrible things are in Nigeria, if I tell my 5 years old daughter that we are going back to Nigeria. She will start begging me that daddy no oo am not going I like it here.

In a con3 where the govt. will spend 1% on the citizens but lavishly spend 99% on their own upkeeps and some slowpoke will keep praising them.

Govt. is never to be praised but criticized to do more and more. It is not their papa money they are using but your Tax and the con3 resources.

In the 70's my dad travelled to the USA for a program, after that program he wanted to come back to Nigeria, the family he stayed with are begging him not to come back, but my dad did not listen.

Comparing the USA economy to Nigeria economy then na like same if not Nigeria even better. Because according to him with the little money he travelled with he was able to even feed the family for 4 weeks.

Coming down to the present, he regretted not staying back then. In this modern world, please don't rely on just one single citizen of one con3, if for nothing do it for your children.

I know many companies MDs that relocate abroad. Not for no simple reason but for so many reasons.

Bluntemperor:
The 1-$Dollar should dropped to N650 because those who are Speculative, especially the 'Big Men' in Nigeria are taking an undue advantages of a New Govt that is just settling down, not that these men have anything tangible to add to the Nigeria's fortune.
For instance - how many of them are into Productive Sector and if they are- they will be involved in Exports and Dollars repartration will be easy!
•Do you know a Stick of Agbado( Maize) is 1€(Euro) in France? Recently - a month ago and is Trending -you see a Nigerian frying Fresh Maize in the high browl -Paris!
•Can our big men be serious and Cultivate Large Farming to Employ thousands of Nigerian Workers,so that they can make cool money from abroad, instead of being speculative,as if they are playing a lottery?
•Also, govt should break the back of all those Mallams across our Major Streets and Cities- who are not Productive but are just speculators-and are the Footsoldiers of the o called Bigmen!
What a brilliant idea. But everything still boil down to govt policy. One thing is to grow the corn another is to be able to export it without issues waiting for you at the airport. When u have to settle every agancy there before your produce will be allow to fly.

But government did not do anything to make Naira depreciate astronomically. It is all the handy work of speculators warehousing dollar. After all Nigeria has not embark on any major project requiring significant dollar injection in the last 3 months.
On the bolded. More reason to know that it's only the borrow borrow money that's just strength the naira. Once it is depleted, back to where we are before. No false hope here.

Them say few lot are the ones benefiting from the subsidy payment. I think by now my people suppose to know that the only thing they are benefitting from govt is subsidy, but No. They are still head strong that removing it is the best.

Subsidy removal just give govt more money to be sharing among themselves be wise my people. Dont let them fool you. Rich business men will always look for something to invest their capital and they must profit.
PoliticsRe: We’re Managing To Pay Salaries, Facing Enormous Challenges – FG by gigfx: 9:27am On Oct 20, 2023
Petrol Subsidy removed , no problem. Petrol will soon come down. Bear with the govt. Nigeria refinery will soon start working. Dangote refinery will soon kick start. Then everything will be normal.

FX Subsidy removed, no problem. We no dey spend dollars in Nigeria.

Them removed 2 main factors that make the economy to still they run on one leg before them come in, now the economy is crippled.

And some people still think all is right. To get the Nigeria economy back to where it was in 2015 , it is going to take like 10 years if better policies are reintroduce not all this kind what the IMF and world Bank dish out.

Removal of the subsidy is not the best thing in my own view though, because it is only giving more money to the corrupt politicians to have more access to fund to thief .

But since it has been removed, it is better to let it be, let people suffer for 4 to 8 years and see if the removal will bring any meaningful development.

The removal to me is just an experiment if works then fine, but with all indices put forward in a country like Nigeria, I don't think it will work out.

In the UK, the PMS is selling at the moment for £1.59 which is even more expensive to what you pay in Nigeria.

But the transport system is working very well , those double deck bus can take only you from Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi because they run with time, that is their own subsidy.

But in Nigeria, you will see BRT waiting for passengers and still wan carry standing.

One of them even say no be something them go dey chop before jagaban go make the country better . I just laugh say this one still believe that this politicians are there for their interest. EducationRe: Subsidy Removal: Public Institutions To The Rescue As Parents Dump Private Schoo by gigfx: 4:02pm On Sep 23, 2023
Subsidy removal open ways for politicians to have more money to share among themselves, I don't know how it is going to work out in a CORRUPTION dominated country like Nigeria.

Instead of trying everything to solve CORRUPTION, they just wanted to suffer the gullible citizen and some people still believe removing the subsidy is the solution to Nigeria problem.

I bet you that in the next 2 years when the subsidy removed money is not enough for them to share again. They will start coming with heavy taxes on citizen. Una go explain tire.

Government paying subsidy or not paying subsidy is not the problem of Nigeria. But CORRUPTION within the government itself and with the current Nigeria setting, the best thing na for government to pay subsidy so that the economy go get balance pending when checks are being put in place to check CORRUPTION. Una go explain tire.
