Health › Re: 85% Doctors Planning To Leave Nigeria, Says NARD by Giraffe14: 9:34am On Jan 22, 2023 |
Rolings: Ungrateful lots Unpatriotic folks They just game the Nigerian government. They got cheap medical education and will rather use it for another country.....why didnt they go to study the medidcine in europe or america....they wont because they cant afford it. The didnt complain about ill equiped medical schools and teaching hospitals while training only to jump on the next plane to countries where they couldnt afford to study Medicine..... Before anyone says rubbish....... doctors that want to practice in USA should go there for their studies if they can afford it not take advantage of the subsidized medical education in Nigeria and thereafter run away......Government subsidized it so many people can be trained to be useful to the country. Shameful! Why are your government officials not using same hospitals and doctors but prefer to travel outside? |

Nairaland General › How Is The Light Situation In Your Area? by Giraffe14(op): 7:53am On Jan 18, 2023 |
It's been over 5 days now that we've not had light in Obadore, LASU igando road.
This is very unfortunate, the lack of electricity have crippled businesses and you can't help but see youths who ought to be productive hanging around and this will inadvertently cause high crime rate. Ikeja electricity distribution company (IKEDC) really need to hold those in charge of obadore, Lasu road accountable. Immediately after the festive season the epileptic light situation got worse. This has been ongoing for many years.
Are they being bribed by persons or filling stations to deliberately frustrate power supply in this area? There are hospitals, schools, businesses that require at least 8 hours of light. How many lives have been lost to such uncanny attitude? It is baffling.

Politics › Re: "I Did My Best For Nigeria" - Buhari by Giraffe14: 9:47am On Jan 01, 2023 |
EmekaMD: Problem is hardly Buhari. He believed his best was good enough. The problem is the people who saw his was incapable and yet voted him in. There's only so much an incapable president can do no matter how genuine his intentions are. You simply cannot give what you don't have.
Now the case might be worse with Tinubu should Nigerians go ahead and vote him despite all these glaring incapabilities.
Though Obi is my candidate, truth of the matter is that I am simply indifferent about Atiku. Man might be a thief but you cannot accuse him of incompetency. Tinubu is not incapable, he's even more competent than the others only problem with him is his age and health issues. Obi is also my candidate but let's call a spade a spade. None of them have achieved more with their resources as Tinubu has. |
Sports › Re: NPFL: Which Team Will You Support This Season? by Giraffe14: 10:59am On Dec 30, 2022 |
This is a great thread to support our local football team. EPL also started like this, I believe we have fantastic ballers here in Nigeria. We need to do more by promoting our teams on social media to attract better followership. if I was the president, I'd invest in marketing of football to Nigerians since the Average Nigerian is tribalistic they'd most likely support a team from their hometown and Nigeria is a football loving nation. There's a whole lot of money we can get from football if we get the marketing right. I'll limit EPL coverage by increasing the tarrif on them and improve our viewership by reducing gate fee to stadiums. |

sweetjohn: Those that love Obi are unshakable about voting him and no southern apart from Yoruba that have been complaining about one thing or the other about Obi as if they are the only one voting in Nigeria. 90% of Yoruba aren't ever going to vote for Obi. Even the so called Yoruba christians that have been shouting Obi will all vote Tinubu. Obi isn't going to put his hope high up on Yoruba. From their body languages and antics it is clear. So no need to fear if majority of Yoruba did not vote for him and that can not affect his chances whatsoever. It's just like Tinubu knew that SE isn't going to vote for him. Have you conducted an experiment to justify this figure? Insults, tantrums and curses will not make things better. I am voting Obi for the following reasons 1. Economy: In a country with over 200m people and majority below the poverty. I feel infrastructural development is not a major problem. Will people eat railways, bridges etc? I feel he has the capacity to improve the economic dilemma. 2. Cost of governance: He can reduce the cost of governance and divert the funds to something better. This doesn't mean I have to insult those supporting Atiku or Tinubu. You'll agree with me that you're less likely to buy from a trader that insults you than the one who still tries to convince you otherwise. |

sweetjohn: Edo who are the highest supporter of the Obi movement are igbos. The Benues are igbos, the south south are igbos, the Delrans are igbos, plateaus are igbos, the middle beltans are igbos. You Yoruba are the only people that brings tribalism to this election. You Yorubas are the ones that tag PO ipob. You Yorubas were the ones that called PO obituary. You Yorubas were the only people in the south acting as the devil's advocate. But whether you people and the devil like it or not, the south are all united and standing gidigba for Peter Obi. The south have known you people for who you are always betraying the south. In an election, every region counts, I'm a Yoruba man but I'm for Obi. I'm telling you things that are the hidden fears of non Igbos which could harm his chances. Peter Obi needs everyone not only Edo, south south, etc. Stop this ethnic profiling, you're doing more harm to his chances by insulting a major tribe. |

NigerianAngelo: 1. Anambra's agricultural GDP is N670b. (NBS) More than Kano, and more than Lagos.
What do you take us for? There is ano aspect of agriculture in every 5m2 in Anambra except Onitsha city.
Every house (villages excepting Onitsha) is saturated with palm trees, coconut, plantain, mango, ukwa, oranges left right center, that output things residents then gather and sell. Output= N670b.
Anambra is Nigeria's largest producer of palm nut fruits. Every 5m2 you see in Anambra has a palm tree or was cleared of a palm tree for building to take place.
2. Anambra was more secure than Lagos throughout Peter Obi's tenure.
3. Lagos beats Anambra in Waste Management.
4. Anambra person cannot come at national level and steal your money. He sees it as derogatory. As if he was not really a rich man. Did Soludo, Ezekwesili or Iweala steal?? Only yorubas steal. Shame Must you use any opportunity to insult Yorubas. You're just making peter obi more like an Igbo affair with all these unnecessary insult. This is the fear of enlightened non Igbos. When obi becomes president, will Igbos let us rest or we're all doomed. How much do you people have that you must shout about it? You may be successful in business and have lesser poverty index but stop rubbing it on other people's faces. YOU'RE JUST SPOILING THE CHANCES OF YOUR CANDIDATE. |

Moh247: God bless Abacha.... Buhari is a failed project It seems you weren't old enough then. Abacha did more than this. Disbanded ASUU, Used force paid 10,000 as salary just to intimidate lecturers still ASUU didn't bulge. No amount of force will solve this issue. Ask your father or elder brothers who were old enough then. |
