Nigeria:
Do we need a President? Yes
Do we need state governors? Yes
Do we need ministers and ambassadors? Yes
Do we need a judiciary? Yes
Do we need a civil service? Yes
Do we need a military? Yes
...
Do we need a national assembly and house of representatives? No

We absolutely don't need the Senate or its senators, nor the House of Representatives and its representatives. These people are absolutely wasteful, absolutely superfluous, absolutely redundant and absolutely dispensable. Our senators and representatives represent nothing but their own pockets! Imagine how much the Nigerian government saves if these two unproductive cancerous government bodies were abolished. We might be saving about half of recurrent expenditures. The earlier we tow this path, the better for Nigeria and Nigerians.

The same West is quarrelling with China for devaluing its currency and wants Nigeria to devalue

The West are furious about China's 'devaluation' or weak yen policy because they have trade deficits running into billions of dollars with China, and they don't like that. They want at least balanced trade. The West only like imbalanced trade if it's in their favor. China is able to maintain a weak yen policy because it's a heavily industrialized country with trade exports running into trillions. The cheaper the yen in contrast with other major currencies of the West, the more people want to import from China and China's global exportation grows. This has tremendously worked for them. But first thing first, heavy localized industrialization. Do you know that over 50% of China's oil imports are being consumed by its industries alone? That's huge. The West wants us to continually devalue our currency because the trade imbalance between us favors them. Until Nigeria becomes a locally heavily industrialized nation like China, devaluation is tantamount to economic suicide and a further extension of the time to suffer political slavery.

Imagine as it is, going by official rates, a foreigner with $1m coming into Nigeria has N200m (approximately), then they buy up lands and take over key sectors of our economy that are highly profitable and kill off local competitors. Take your N1m to the US and let's see what can you buy? Almost nothing of substantial economic value. And yet, some people want to devalue further? Devaluation doesn't help Nigeria, and doesn't help the majority of the Nigerian citizenry. The more of the key sectors of our economy that is controlled by foreigners, the more foreigners can influence and control our government to formulate more policies and trade agreements that they can benefit from to the detriment of the country at large. When was the last time Nigeria had balanced trade with the West? Never!!! That's when. We're always in deficit. Those advocating for devaluation are the PDP zombies hellbent on misleading the country and fooling President Buhari to make the costliest mistake that they would campaign with to push APC out of Aso Rock in 2019. Devaluation will not only ruin Buhari's legacy in Nigeria's history but it would destroy the economic fabric of this country. No 3rd-world country ever became a first-world nation by devaluation. They can only transition by implementation of vigorous local industrialization, local technological advancement and strong economic treaties and sustained trade balances with foreign countries. The question is, since African countries have been devaluating their currencies, take Nigeria for example, from 50kobo = $1, to what it is today, are we any better off to have developed into a first-world country? Now is the time to put an end to the economic terrorism by the West on Nigeria and indeed the rest of Africa.

I don't know who is advising President Buhari but his insistence on not devaluing the Naira to reflect present reality is one decision he would live to regret. The false sense of value we are giving to the naira is not helping anybody neither is political consideration more important than the economy. The suffering we would experience through devalued naira won't be compared to the hopeless situation we are now. in fact, if the country is pragmatic enough, the devalued naira policy would turn to be a blessing.

Clearly, your brain is devalued and devoid of any significant intelligence of useful economic implications

Crime / Re: Motorcyclist Lures, Rapes Pupil In Hotel by girlfriendsnatc: 5:11pm On Apr 21, 2016
Originality007:
Afeez Hanafi

A primary six pupil, Princess, has been allegedly raped by a commercial motorcyclist (okada rider) in a hotel on Yemi Aderemi Street, Igbede, in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos.

The name of the hotel was given as Julia Guest House.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the 40-year-old okada rider, Uche Imo, was arrested by the police from the Isokoko division, while the manager of the hotel, who was accused of aiding the act, was invited for interrogation.

It was gathered that Imo and the pupil were neighbours on Tijani Street, Ajangbadi, and he was employed by Princess’ mother to take her and her sister to school.

Imo, a father of five, was said to have lured the 13-year-old girl with cake into the hotel. He had reportedly raped her in the facility four different times.

Our correspondent learnt that in one of the instances, Princess declined going inside the hotel room with the suspect, but the manager, William, reportedly persuaded her.

The mother of the pupil said she knew about the ‘sexual relationship’ between her daughter and Imo on February 14, 2016, after he brought Princess and her sister back from an outing on that day.

She said, “Baba Joy (Imo) was my neighbour and was the one taking my children to school. I paid him N200 every day. On February 14, he came to me and said he wanted to take them out and I allowed him. He bought meat pie and ice cream for them. When they came back, Helen said I should ask her sister what happened between her and Baba Joy.

“I asked her, but she denied that anything happened between them. It was when I started beating her that she confessed that Baba Joy had sex with her, adding that it had been happening for long.”

Princess told the police that the Abia State-born suspect had been raping her since December 2015, adding that he usually gave her cake.

She said, “I am in primary six and live on the same street with Baba Joy. In December 2015, he took me to the hotel and had sex with me. I did not want to enter, but the hotel manager said I should. He had taken me there four times and he usually bought cake for me.”

Our correspondent learnt that Princess was taken to the Mirabel Centre, a human rights organisation, at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and the case was subsequently reported to the police.

The suspect, in his statement to the police, confessed to the crime, saying the hotel manager was aware of it.

“I am married with five children. My first child is in Senior Secondary School two. I lived at the back of Princess’ house before I parked out in January. I told her I liked her. Whenever she had a chance, she would call me from a business centre and I would pick her up where she was, take her to the hotel and have sex with her.

“There was a day I took her to the hotel and she did not want to enter. The manager pleaded with her on my behalf. I paid N500 for an hour,” he said.

The 55-year-old manager, who admitted that Imo was his customer, said he had warned him to stop bringing the minor to the hotel.

A police prosecutor, Sergeant Francisca Okere, brought Imo before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on two counts bordering on rape.

The charges read in part, “That you, Uche Imo, on January 25, 2016, at about 5pm on Yemi Aderemi Street, Igbede, in the Ajangbadi, Lagos State, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did defile a 13-year-old girl, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 317 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty before the presiding magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Adegbite, and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till April 21, 2016.

Herdsmen hack Anambra farmer, 2 others to death
By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu On 16/04/2016 05:52:23 AM

There is tension in Umudium village in Umumbo community, Ayamelum Local Government Area, over the alleged killing of 45-year old Mr Ekwunife Echim Okolo by Fulani herdsmen in the area.
The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Simeon Chidubem, who disclosed this ugly incident in his palace at Umumbo, maintained that there is no day a case of attack, molestation of underage children, men, women and sexual abuse by the Fulani herdsmen is not reported in his kingdom.
He noted that the herdsmen who attacked the young man at his farm were roaming round farms without their cattle searching for the villagers to attack, hack or kill with their sophisticated guns and other dangerous weapons.
Igwe Chidubem, who stated that another victim is now receiving treatment at Iyienu Hospital, Nkpor, noted that the case has been reported to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Anaku Police divisional headquarters.
He recalled that the same Fulani herdsmen, in February this year, killed one Mr Nwogbo Okafor at his farm, alongside another unidentified person who was also allegedly killed by the Fulani herdsmen while a lot of others were reported missing.
He said that the community has before now, written, “Save our soul letter” to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police in Awka, bringing to his notice the wanton attack, hacking and killing of people of the community as well as the deliberate destruction of their farm produce such as rice, cassava, yam, okuru and maize by the Fulani herdsmen in the area.
The traditional ruler who said that the community would always toe the path of peace, appealed to the police and other security agencies in the state to urgently come to the aid of the community and rescue them from the menace of the Fulani herdsmen. He commended the effort of the police and the Department of State Security at Anaku since the incident started in the area.
Governor Willie Obiano, worried over the situation, had called on the security agencies in the state to protect the innocent farmers, appealing to herdsmen through the Hausa Community in the state to live cordially with their hosts.

Okay this incessant homicides by these ruthless barbaric herdsmen is really starting to irk me, especially because the government has been unusually cowardly about confronting the menace this barbarism constitutes to lawful citizens, especially farmers. So here's the thing, the big idea for everyone under the threat of an imminent or potential attack by this atrocious attritious marauders:

Amongst biological species, when you are limited or bound by costs, efficiency and legality, many times the best way to solve a predator problem in your environment isn't to kill the predator yourself (which might be either too expensive, less efficient, illegal or a combination of these), but by introducing the natural predator of that predator into the environment and have the predator(s) kill them off for you. This is usually much more cheaper, faster, efficient and always legal because you're using Mother Nature as a weapon of defense. Nobody can criminalize you for this. This idea is particularly relevant in the field of farming, but it's applicable in other aspects too like warfare etc!

For example, in regards to farming, if you have a pest problem, rodents say, which destroy the crops, it might be counterproductive to use pesticides that are less efficient because it's also harmful to the crops, more expensive to use in a long term, and might raise legal complications like contravening the established laws and regulations by agro-allied federal and/or state agencies. So rather than do this, you simply introduce a particular natural predator of the rodents that preys on it on one hand, and on the other hand is harmless to your crops. So if maybe you have a rat problem, you introduce its natural predators like snakes or birds of prey (owls, falcons, hawks etc). In a very short time, your rat problem will be solved without stress, cost efficiently, and without any legal complications. In the same vein, this brings us to the problem at hand - COWS!

This leads to the question: what is the natural predator of the cow; what likes to kill cows but doesn't eat plants? I want to make an investment in 2017 and hopefully I will not be having problems of marauding bloodthirsty barbaric fulani herdsmen because I can quite figure this puzzle for myself and my prospective farmland. The question is can the rest of Nigeria solve this puzzle?

I voted for President Buhari unapologetically, and I think so far he's doing a fine job as president. However, the way he handles this fulani herdsmen menace might taint his legacy forever if he continues to act nonchalant about the destruction of lives and property they had wrought all over the country on harmless innocent Nigerians. The lives of a billion cattles do not equate in value to the life of one man. If I have to choose a side in this war, i'll stand with humans over cows, and the President needs to do the same before this thing gets out of hand and metamorphose into a civil war - God forbid, but only if men will heed. The fulanis are seriously depleting the President's favorability and approval ratings in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of we untribalistic patriotic citizens of Nigeria. The clock is ticking, and we're watching. This issue alone is definitely enough to cost APC the Presidency in 2019 if left unchecked.

The second guy I dated I was so much older.. In my between 21 and 23..i loved him he loved me.. We were planning on our future and all that.. We were good till one day.. He sent me a text telling me he wanted out without no reason. I felt like a knife was pierced through my heart.. As I'm writing now I feel so much pain. It was latter that he told me cos of my health challenge that made him leave. Me. From 2013 till today, I've not dated anybody. I've lost that ability to love. But I still believe in love.

Hey guys. I spoke to five of my female friends last week and asked them to share the worst thing a guy has done to them and what i heard sent shivers down my spine. Honestly, I didn't expect a guy to stoop so low in order to score cheap points with a girl. These guys do not deserve to be called men at all. If their old man found out what they did, he'll hang his head in shame and cry himself to death. For the purpose of privacy, I changed the names here in this article. So here we go..

"HE UPLOADED MY UNCLAD PICS ON FACEBOOK"-Mary Doe[23]

I began dating this guy called James in 2011. I was head over heels for him and for a moment I thought I had found my soul mate. We did everything you can possibly imagine together. Then, one day, he asked for my unclad pictures and I foolishly sent them to him thinking it was no big deal after all we were madly in love with each other. Fast forward to 2014 after over 2 years of dating, the love we shared waned and our conversations became boring and monotonous. Then, I knew it was time to move on. I politely broke up with him one Wednesday evening. He wasn't cool with it and began calling me names and ranted over the phone till I couldn't take it anymore. I stopped taking his calls and replying his chats. A month later, this sick bastard called James uploaded the unclad pics I sent to him over two years ago on facebook with a message saying I'm a prostitute looking for customers online. My world crumbled that day. I slumped into a terrible bout of depression for weeks with suicidal thoughts crossing my mind everyday. Facebook took down the image that same day but it was too late... the deed was done. I cursed him sha.. he'll never find happiness in life till he apologises to me.

"HE BROKE UP WITH ME IN PUBLIC"-Precious Doe[19]

It happened when I was in SS2. Philip was in SS3 and was the social prefect of the school. He was the typical bad boy with sagging trousers, a crazy haircut and an arrogant attitude. He asked me out twice but i turned him down on both occassions. The third time, I said yes because I found his persistence amazing. We were the power couple of the school, admired by everyone except for a few girls who wished they were in my shoes. We dated for two weeks and I know I was a good girlfriend to Philip as I helped him copy some of his notes and we made out twice. Then, on Friday, during the social night, Philip mounted the stage and said,'Everyone listen up. I want to use this opportunity to officially break up with Precious. Precious, it is over between us!' His classmates cheered him and the whole school joined them. I wished the ground would open and swallow me. I didn't even know when tears rolled down my cheeks and before I knew it, I was sobbing uncontrollably. I was used by a worthless piece of shit but I've forgiven him tho.

"HE STARTED A RUMOUR THAT I WAS A LESBIAN"-Ibiso Doe[22]

There was this guy that I rejected cos I think he's a total jerk without a future. He took the rejection personally and started a malicious rumour that I'm a lesbian and I change my undies once a week. It ruined my reputation because almost all my classmates believed the nasty rumour. I have a thick skin to rumours but this one broke me to pieces and left me sorrowful. Slowly and steadily, I'm building my reputation. It's not easy as a lot of people still believe I'm a lesbian. Na them sabi.

"MY EX SLAPPED ME IN PUBLIC"-Amarachi Doe[23]

Williams and I were taking a stroll along Agip road one Friday evening with our fingers laced together. I was enjoying this stroll as we were having a deep conversation about our future. Then, out of the blue, a tall and handsome dude walked passed us and I didn't know when I called him hot and sexy. I don't know whether it was a punch or a slap Williams gave me but I lost the ability to hear in my left ear. All eyes were focused on us. I could feel their eyes boring a hole through my belly. Beads of sweat formed all over me. Williams started begging profusely and I couldn't stop my self from bursting into tears. I walked away and I don't regret leaving the woman beater.

"HE SLEPT WITH MY SISTER"-Deola Doe[24]

In 2014, I began dating Paul. He was the perfect dude with a great face, a great body, soothing voice and a sense of humor. No wonder I fell for him. All was well till he paid me a visit one day but he met only my sister because I went out. I think he knew I wasn't going to be at home. Things happened that day. My sister told me what happened and apologised frantically saying she was seduced by Paul. I don't blame her at all cos Paul is a smooth talker. That evening, I confronted the guy and he told me to go to HELL and I lost faith in men that day. The relationship with my sister is now strained and awkward because of that fool.

So guys, there you have it. These five boys have trampled on our cherished manly values and are no more fit to be called men. We'll just sit back and let Karma do her thing.

Have a lovely day and keep being the man your dad always wanted you to be. Cheers!!!

Is that all undecided? Maybe eternity would not be enough if guys were to share the horrible things Nigerian girls have done to them.

With so many fake hungry gold-digging thirsty hoes like you around, getting pûssy is the easiest thing in the world. You can set up another monicker if you like, but you're still easily identifiable because you can't stop hoe-ing around #JadeKitana.

is it your eyebrows and skin? grin

Why the pepper body? grin

Pepper body? Very funny grin. Well, I think the 'pepper body' here is the bitter person who wrote a nagging acerbic epistle because she didn't succeed to add another enterprising guy to her maga list. Goddamn hungry #pigeons leeching off boys. They have nothing of value to offer and bring nothing to the table except some infected flaccid over-straffed pûssy that stinks like rotten fish.

[s]Don't let their suit and flashy cars deceive you, bankers are broke! Damn broke! I even heard a recent trend that bankers these days earn less than 70k and yet when you see them in clubs you would think they are Tony Elumelu's sons! Pretence everywhere.

Imagine this particular Zenith big boy has been disturbing my line for a hang out.I thought of honouring the invitation since its just a hang out.

This bloody cretin is so proud that even his shirts exude pride,he displays his expensive shoes on bbm, hangs out in exotic bars, always balling with the big guys not knowing he wasn't even a full staff of the bank.

He came to pick me few minutes to 6pm,took me to this strange lounge with flowers all over and ordered Asun. The waitress surprisingly brought a very small plate of Asun for both of us. Before I even picked my toothpick, this guy has finished the whole plate and the onions as well.I was just observing! I then called the waitress and asked how much was the asun, she said 500naira! I told her to bring 2plates. This shameful thing finished his plate and entered mine,i didn't talk.

That wasn't even the height! After this useless display on our way out he called the waitress and demanded for his change for drinks he bought, I was thinking the change was big that he had to keep us waiting! Hell no! 100naira!! He couldn't dash the waitress 100naira bloody stingy fellow.Yet when he starts displaying those fake dps one would think he's Jim Ovias Son! Fake life everywhere. Ladies don't get carried away, all na packaging, they have nothing! Just living a borrowed life style to fit in.

As usual his number has been deleted till eternity.[/s]

Funny how someone whose common eyebrows are not even real can be calling somebody else with real eyebrows fake. Why don't you come and rant later about how fake the guy is when you at least have real hair on your eyebrows, or maybe a skin that's not bleached undecided

The prophet (Sallah allayin wasalam) said woe be on one who speaks and lies in order to make people laugh, woe be on him.

I hope you're not going to blow up this thread. Who in the world takes the sadistic opinions of a dead prophet seriously anyway?

The 'common sense' senator is at it again.

What's your take on this photo? A swipe at the president or an advice?

If only this verbocious twitter senator could spend about half the time he uses to tweet rubbish to focus on his constituency, it'll probably have had tremendous development by now - if only!

Counting USA twice shows Ben Bruce didnt pass through primary 6.

It should be "Number of countries/Number of time he has visited them"

#OlodoBenBruce

Ben Bruce is partially reta®ded, so it's "common sense" to expect him to make fallacious delusional statements

Wow, so someone can be a billionaire's daughter and still be approximately ugly? Yet there are some Nairaland girls with their few thousands that look absolutely stunning and so much prettier than this - a few though! Anyway, I think I'll caption this as: The ugly girl in an expensive beautiful dress.
