Jxool you’re not being clear enough , are you seeking to get your passport for Medicals request ? Or did you get a passport request for visa stamping from the Canadian people?
If it’s medical request you can do with a copy of the biodata page for the Medicals oo .

I think he said he is traveling to the USA on the 7th of December.

When I asked them during the call if I could withdraw my passport they said 15 working days and everything will be canceled.
From recent timelines it’s obvious they dispatch passports after issuing visas almost immediately, if you collect your passport back, it may mean application fees being forfeited because there’s a high likelihood visa hasn’t been stamped on the passport being requested for.
Just my opinion!

I'm not requesting ó. The 40 working days ends on Dec 6. What's another 10 days after 1 months plus of waiting

Is there a fee for this? And if a decision has been made on the passport, can you still collect it within that 48hrs

Wow. I'm also in Ibadan. What if a decision has been made on the passport? Will you also be able to request for your passport and get it within two days.

The passport never leaves Nigeria. They stamp the thing in lagos or Abuja depending on where you submit. The files are e-files and are worked on in any location in the world where they have offices or officers.

Another thing that I think they are doing is deliberately keeping people out; a form of border control.

I just spoke to someone in the UK center again. I asked they return my passport even if it means withdrawing my application. I then asked how long it will take to get it cos I need to get with my appointment in the US.
The lady there said she doesn't know.
Like what are we really paying the charges for if these call attendants can't provide the necessary feedback.
I'm beyond frustrated at this point.
They are literally saying there is no end to when one can wait for their passport.

It's basically useless calling them. They can not tell you any specific feedback beyond "a decision has been made or not "
They can't tell you where your passport is or when it will be returned to you.

I don't know how you are counting the days. I did biometrics on the 7th of October and uptil now nothing from them. I have removed my mind. Mine is even renewal.

Same as daughter's application. I know it's hard but just be patient. There's literally nothing that can be done right now.
I believe your passport will be returned either tomorrow or within next week.

If one should cancel the application.
Is it gonna take long to get back the passport? Because I think once the passport is at Abuja if they cancel the application to send back the passport should not take long. Please anyone who’s cancel his visa application before should please assist here as I don’t mind to loose the visa fee etc because really this is getting too much.

It takes 15 working days to cancel an application so you probably won't get your passport before your travel date. I still believe your passport will get to you before your travel date; it's over 30 days already right?

Your travel document (and supporting documents, if applicable) are now ready for collection at the TLScontact Visa Application Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. Please carefully read the below instructions to retrieve your documents.

Collection in person

Please come with all of the following:

Your Original TLScontact Application Checklist
Your Original Photographic ID
Copy of Your Photographic ID
Copy of birth certificate (if collecting for your minor child) *
Collecting using a representative

It is not possible for a third party to collect the documents on behalf of an applicant, except in the following cases:

A parent collecting for a dependent child (where child is below 18);
Applicants 65 years and above (with already issued proxy form obtained during submission);
One member of a family group collecting the passports for the whole family, if applied together;
Government Ministry representatives and Business Network company representative, prior approved by the British High Commission and the company’s authorized signatories with a letter of introduction and a company ID card.
Please note that all third party collections above will require a means of national identification e.g. International Passport, National ID Card, Driver’s License.

IMPORTANT: If any of the above documents are missing, your representative will not be allowed to retrieve your travel document.

You can check collection times and the centre address on the address and opening hours page. You are advised to make prompt arrangements to collect your documents from the Visa Application Centre as TLScontact is only able to hold them for a limited time. Jxool & dzee1 I hope you guys get your passports by tomorrow latest because this situation is traumatic for anyone who has a planned trip outside Nigeria already. No one envisaged this delay, if I did I wouldn’t have dabbled into it until things went to normal because I hate anything that will stress me mentally when Nigeria on its own is stressful already.
Gistbite how far ? I’m rooting for your daughters passport to come back ASAP Abeg.

This is my position, I need my passport back.
If they had mentioned this delay from the onset I'd either have done express service or the option of me holding my passport till a decision has been made.
Now I have a trip to the US on the 7th and my passport is still not out. I have ticket and non refundable accommodation already paid for the US trip.


Pls if anyone knows any means to get back passport and how long it will take, pls help me out.

not true. Change of data in passport is the highest scam in nigerian immigration. The real cost is 33k admin charges, once approved then 26k for new passport. Total is 56k. Anything extra is going into the hands of the thief you are giving the job to

Yeah that's the amount to change it. Plus you will be asked to submit some documents to verify the data you want to correct. BVN, NIN, birth certificate, jamb results...basically anything that carries the year you want to change to. It takes a week or two to be ready
