I'm a nurse and am yet to meet the English requirement for NMC UK registration so I'm applying for a senior carer role for now. Thanks for sharing
You can do Naric/ECCTIS instead
you get way better pay as a nurse here.

I don't have address yet as I am still house hunting and it's not been an easy task so I haven't been able to look up any school just yet. Thank you so much for this info but was wondering if she can switch schools by January or she'd have to wait till next year September.
She can switch in April. But make sure to go to the school to know if there's space for her.

I got a care sponsorship job and I wasn't asked to write IELTS, that's why I am quite surprised.
You will need either ielts or naric during your visa application unless you have a UK degree.

Are you sure of this?

Reason being that I haven't heard of anyone who has written it here.
They probably used Naric/Ecctis

What if you are already legally in the UK for like 6 months before you got the Care Home that wants to employ and sponsor you, do you still need to write IELTS?
Yes

This was such an heartbreaking read and the Nigerian names towards the end of the article though...hmmmmm... I might be wrong ooooo but there's no how the mothers of these teenage boys who are that violent and rap with atrocities they committed or are aware of like murder wouldn't have picked a trace or two if they paid closer attention. Especially in an environment that's known for gang violence but it well. May God comfort their parents.

On an unrelated topic, please I need advice on how to go about sorting school for my 3yr old that's almost 4. She'll be 4 in October and I was wondering if it'll be possible to get a nursery that will admit her in January even though we're due to get in by September.

Trying to budget my pocket and know if I'm stuck with free 3hrs only or we can get a possible solution to her getting more hours from January after she clocks 4 as an ember baby.

I'll appreciate as much suggestions as possible from moms with experience here to help me explore all possible options.

If you have an address in Manchester already, search for schools close to your house and mail them to know if they have space for September. Some schools send you the application forms via email and you can submit it when you land.
My daughter is 3 also and her school said we can pay £15 per day for the extra 3hrs

Bro, I had a first hand experience of the dilapidated health system they operate here in UK. My wife just had a baby in UK precisely July 2. Prior to the baby delivery, there has been some health concern as the baby's weight was reducing in the mother's womb; therefore, she was to be induced. The induction date was for 25th of June 2022. We went to the hospital with the hope that they will do the induction that day or the next. To my greatest surprise they put my wife in the ward, started the induction process but intentionally slow down the process because according to them "there were other 16 people who are on induction". It becomes a queue waiting for our turn to be called to delivery unit. 1 day, 2days, 3days... 7thday nothing was done. They were only given her nonsense food, paracetamol and other pain relievers. In between these days I was asking them if anything was wrong, they stated it clearly that they were short staffed and they can only do what could be done. On the 7th day I threatened them with a lawsuit if anything happen to my wife or baby. On that day, they had to transfer us from Manchester Royal hospital to Oldham to take the delivery of the baby. Mind u, they still no transfer her in ambulance ooo, Nah me still carry Uber even with her pain. Spent 9 good days only to take delivery of my child. In Nigeria, I have never experienced childbirth that long except there are serious complications. Their health system needs serious funding if they care to meet the picture they portray to the public.
.
Sue them. They put the life of your wife and baby at risk

Thank you for the response. But unofficial transcripts are not accepted by ecctis and even other bodies as they do not carry school stamp and authorised signatory.
Unofficial copy is accepted by ECCTIS. I just did mine this month

You can use this link. I normally do the other way round:

Thank you for your response, I'll check back some pages. The care is actually fine with me working another job. They don't want me to resign.

Get a written official statement from them stating that they are okay with you doing another job; for future reference when you want to apply for ILR. A verbal agreement is nothing in this country

I am telling you the reality of life abroad for the majority of Nigerians who will japa!!!! I am privileged, I have citizenship, I was a high rate tax payer which means I was considered well off in the Uk but I can back home because there are certain things money can’t buy.

If you can raise the money for a ticket you can raise the money to start and grow a business in Nigeria!!!! Trust me if you are the kind of person that cannot find a business to do in Nigeria with the money it would cost you to move abroad, you are the kind of person that will be stuck in a rut if you move abroad. You are the sort that will find they can’t go forward, can’t go backwards once you get there.
Oh shut up

Hello all,
I am new here and hope I am not asking an already discussed question. I have gone to the first page to look for the visa requirements but couldn't see a comprehensive checklist like in the student thread. I am on a student visa here in the UK and would like my mum to visit. I have a sister on the tier 2 visa in the UK as well. My mum has a good travel history but to U.S,never been to the UK before. She is a civil servant and is financially okay.
Is it a better option if she applies as a tourist or should she apply that I am inviting her?

I will appreciate any advice I can get please.

Let your tier 2 VISA sister invite. It's still a visiting/tourist visa she will be given either way

Good evening all,

I just had my son in Canada, the mum is PR holder there and the son is entitled to a Canadian passport but we hold a work visa here in the UK.
Can my son come with the Canada passport and convert to the work visa when he arrives or needs to apply from Canada? Thanks for the answers
You will need to apply for your child from Canada.

Lmao even this response is condescending. *reckon

International license (which is valid for one year) is required if the person wants to drive on arrival to the Uk. The normal naija license is not allowed/recognised.

The normal Naija licence is allowed and recognised. You can use it for a year

If you have Tier 2 sponsorship, you can only do 20hrs for another employer in the same occupation code or in another shortage occupation. You're not allowed to just take up a second random job, unfortunately. If you're going to do more than 20hrs you're going to need sponsorship from the second employer
Does indeedflex count as working for another employer?
