You dnt have to give up on Lagos job search. Patient is the key. my advice is for you to be patient and accept any offer no matter how small it is and start from there. Regarding the accommodation issue, to rent a house in lag isn't cheap especially the area u prefer. so I suggest u continue to manage where u are but if u insist on renting an apartment, u may consider outskirts of Lagos island. at least house is cheaper on mainland. I know a lot of people that lives in mainland but work in VI, lekki etc. so u can rent an apartment on mainland but be using someone's island address when applying for job. don't forget to drop your qualifications here in case if someone whishes to help u. good luck and never give up |
Many that are commenting didn't understand what the counselor said. the counselor isn't against phone password but when your spouse becomes the reason for it then something is wrong somewhere. I agree with her. if you really agree that two of you are one then nothing should be hidden. |

I don't really advice you to resign immediately and become unemployed. It is not advisable to quit a job when you have not gotten a new one. Find a new job before you resign. |
deadline please |
Dnt compare your self with others. Life is really not a competition. Run your own race at your own pace. God's time is surely the best. Your miracle will come as far as you continue looking up to God without giving up . Dnt think your case is worse than any other graduate in Nigeria...wait until you hear another person's story. As far as you don't give up, some day your time to shine will come. |

UNN researcher secures patent for development of solar cells from weed A researcher in the Department of pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Justus Nwaoga, has been granted the patent right for the sole use and advantage of inventing the development of Mimosa Pudica, locally known as “touch and die weed” into solar cells. The patent seal, signed by the Registrar of Patents and Design, and dated 10th October, 2013, read in part, “whereas a request for the grant of a patent has been made by Justus Nwaoga, Pharmaceutical Chemistry of Department of UNN, for the sole use and advantage of invention for: Exploring the solar sensitivities of Mimosa Pudica-An African wild plant, and whereas the Federal Government of Nigeria, being willing to encourage all invention which may be for the public good is pleased to accede to the request”. Nwaoga discovered how to use Mimosa pudica, to generate renewable energy. “I observed that the plant’s leaves opened at sunrise and folded at sunset, I started searching for the compound responsible for this and found ‘black silicon’ which can be used to power solar panel. It is natural”, he said. He explained that solar cells constructed with the weed extracts and exposed to sunlight were found to accumulate solar energy which was transformed to electrical energy. The stored electrical energy, according to him could be subsequently developed for various domestic, military and industrial appliances including solar rechargeable lantern. The invention had earned Nwaoga a place among ten best innovators in Africa at the 2nd edition of the “Innovation Prize for Africa” held in South Africa in May, 2013. Nwaoga’s innovation was the only one pioneered by a Nigerian which made the top ten out of a total of 903 applications from 45 countries in Africa. It will also be recalled that the pharmacist had, in 2004/2005, developed a portable kit used to discover fake and substandard injection drugs. The kit uses chemicals instead of UV/visible spectrophotometer, a more expensive instrument for spot test, to isolate and quantify main ingredients of gentamicin injection and other commonly administered injections. download here http://premiumtimesng.com/dev/wp-content/files/2013/10/FGN.ASUU-INITIALED-AGREEMENT-JAN.-2009.pdf PREMIUM TIMES makes the much talked about agreement public On the first day of July this year, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, began an indefinite strike that has lasted till date and may run deep into the future. According to the union, the strike followed government’s inability to keep to an October 2009 agreement reached by both parties. The agreement was reached after two years of negotiation between the lecturers and a government team appointed by the then Education Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili. The Government team was led by the then Pro-chancellor, University of Ibadan, Gamaliel Onosode while ASUU’s team was led by its then president, Abdullahi Sule-Kano. The agreement reached at the negotiations included conditions of service for university lecturers, funding of universities, university autonomy and academic freedom, and issues that required legislation to implement. Details of that agreement were held as confidential by both ASUU and the government, leaving the public to feed on crumbs of information thrown out at negotiation meetings between the two parties. PREMIUM TIMES has now obtained a copy of the agreement and is now making it available for public viewing. The agreement The agreement included details such as the breakdown of lecturers’ salary structure, staff loans, pension, overtime, and moderation of examinations. Part of the agreement dwelt on funding of universities where both parties agreed that each federal university should get at least N1.5 trillion between 2009 and 2011 while state universities, within the same period, should receive N3.6 million per student. The agreement also had parts that asked the re-negotiation committee to ensure that at least 26 percent of Nigeria’s annual budget was allocated to education, and half of that allocation to universities. The agreement also asked that the 2004 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Act, and the National University Commission Act 2004, be amended. Text of the suggested amendment bills – including suggestion for amendment of the Education (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) Act 2004 – were provided in the agreements. The agreement was signed by Bolanle Babalakin, the then chairman of Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Federal Universities; Gamaliel Onosode, chairman of the re-negotiation committee; and Ukachukwu Awuzei, the then president of ASUU. The agreement demanded a heavy financial commitment from the government and was an adaptation of an earlier agreement reached in 2001. It is unclear how much of the agreement have been implemented by the government. However, the secretary to the federation, Pius Anyim, after one of the recent failed negotiations, said that most of the issues contained in the 2009 agreement, had been fully met except for the earned allowances estimated at N92 billion. “Some of the issues which bothered on amendment of pensionable retirement age of academics in the professorial cadre, consolidated peculiar allowances (CONPUAA)- exclusively for university teaching staff, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), setting up of budget monitoring committee in all public universities have been fully implemented,” he disclosed. ASUU Chairman, Nasir Fagge, could not be reached to confirm how much of the agreement have been implemented. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/146763-download-ASUU-federal-government-2009-agreement.html |
