Loved this episode.
It was better than the last because we got to see some story lines develop.

Arya is a badass now

Cersei has been screwed over

A certain rumour

Jon snow has no army

I hope Jon snow wins the battle of bastards. The last time i supported someone who wanted to take winterfell he died angry

This entire Arya and faceless men stroyline is so underwhelming, What was actually achieved here? and dont tell me fighting in the dark bullshitt..
We knew that she wasn't fully into the no one ish. Remember she didn't throw away needle in the beginning. Now, she has the training from the faceless men on her belt.

You are probably right, and maybe I should manage my expectations a bit better.

But it's a bit annoying to see how poorly that Arya storyline was ended. That was resolved very very poorly.

Like you say though, it's not that probably easy for the writers...
I will give it a 7/10. I mean, they were probably just trying to show us how good / determined she has gotten.

Cleganebowl my pockmarked azz.

Reddit conspirators and their Nairaland counterparts- in your face!

Gloat over.

That Arya thing is just the biggest slap in face to viewers. You mean Arya who suffered multiple stab wounds including thar particular twisted blade finisher, could survive long enough to be treated by.....an actress?

And despite being stabbed multiple times in the torso, she was able to eat immediately after being stitched up?

They should have just said she was treated with magic so that there wouldn't be any questions.

But as things stand, the writers are demanding even greater levels of suspension of my beliefs.

Considering how fantastic previous seasons were, this season has been a letdown in comparison in my opinion.
She technically drank not ate.

Also, clegane bowl doesn't need to be by trial by combat.

About Arya, we don't know how much time passed before she was found, it could have been 5 minutes (sometimes the time line in a show / movie is a "meanwhile" not "after" ...events overlap each other). i am more worried how she was able to evade capture by jumping from one place to another after severing her stitches. But, i can suspendy disbelief just for the sake of.

Why did Yara have to be lesbian? It's too stereotypical for my liking. So a strong female leader can't be straight?
She has been a Tom boy since the first episode. Obviously.

Also, Cersei isn't gay either and yes, she is a strong female leader.

Just for the sake of argumemt, tell me where else a "strong female leader" was gay.

Exactly. If not for anything else, I'd support Jon Snow just to exact revenge for my kinsmen who were betrayed and murdered by the Boltons. That's more in line with normal human behaviour.
That's why he was asked what army he already has. And he had next to none compared to the Boltons.

So, what do you think normal human behavior dictates in this case? Side with a man who has little army made up mostly of Wildlings (which they hate) or the man that has a very powerful army and with 3 great houses at his side?

It never said, but because Rhoynar was fomerly not in the title, one would assume the Dornish were Andals. With Rhoynar now in the title, one still wouldn't know the Dornish were Rhoynar as it was never addressed. So show-wise, one has to question the idea that the Dornish are Rhoynar.
Lol. You are not making any sense.

You are okay with assuming the Dornish are andals without any proof yet you are calling him out for assuming that they are Rhoynar without proof?

Even Davos said " i don't know northerners but i know men" when Sansa said northerners are very loyal.

Jon Snow turned to Melisandre. "What sorcery
is this?"
"Call it what you will. Glamor, seeming,
illusion. R'hllor is Lord of Light, Jon Snow,
and it is given to his servants to weave with
it, as others weave with thread.
Mance Rayder chuckled. "I had my doubts as
well, Snow, but why not let her try? It was
that, or let Stannis roast me."
"The bones help." said Melisandre. "The bones
remember. The strongest glamors are built of
such things. A dead man's boots, a hank of
hair, a bag of fingerbones. With whispered
words and prayer, a man's shadow can be
drawn forth from such and draped about
another like a cloak. The wearer's essence
does not change, only his seeming."

“The spell is made of shadow and
suggestion. Men see what they expect
to see. The bones are part of that.”
Was I wrong to spare this one? “If the
glamor fails, they will kill you.”

While this is talking about the faith of R'hllor it is similar to that of the faith of the Many Faced God. They use glamours in addition to wearing a mask.

Then came a tug and a soft rustling as
the new face was pulled down over the
old. The leather scraped across her
brow, dry and stiff, but as her blood
soaked into it, it softened and turned
supple. Her cheeks grew warm, flushed.
She could feel her heart fluttering
beneath her breast, and for one long
moment she could not catch her
breath. Hands closed around her
throat, hard as stone, choking her. Her
own hands shot up to claw at the arms
of her attacker, but there was no one
there. A terrible sense of fear filled her,
and she heard a noise, a hideous
crunching noise, accompanied by
blinding pain. A face floated in front of
her, fat, bearded, brutal, his mouth
twisted with rage.

“Mummers change their faces with
artifice,” the kindly man was saying,
“and sorcerers use glamors, weaving
light and shadow and desire to make
illusions that trick the eye. These arts
you shall learn, but what we do here
goes deeper. Wise men can see
through artifice, and glamors dissolve
before sharp eyes, but the face you are
about to don will be as true and solid
as that face you were born with.”
Lol. This guy you funny sha. Person go jus ask simple question and you will be replying with a whole book chapter

I've already explained myself in the last paragraph. He was portrayed as being killed in action...yet didn't die. The implication of this to me is that anybody that doesn't die on screen could in theory still be alive...and it's that refusal to fully commit to a character's death that is my main gripe.

Theoretically, Stanis Baratheon could still be alive as we never saw him actually die. Hodor too. That's what seems cheap to me especially when compared to other characters who were emphatically killed on screen with no remorse.
Why would you believe he was dead when the show didn't pronounce him dead? Last we saw him, he was alive. The difference between the hound and stannis is that the Boltons confirmed stannis was dead and up till that point a lot of his fans didn't think he was dead despite Brienne swinging a sword at his neck.

Another slow episode. Glad to see the hound is alive. The battle of bastards is coming.

Episode 8 has always been an epic episode in game of thrones

S05E08 = hardhome (i can't remember the rest and am too lazy to Google)

Also, for those who have been watching this show for the past 6 seasons and don't still understand,...

Episode 1.... Build up
Episode 2-5... epic
Episode 6-7... build up
Episode 8-9... epic
Episode 10... cliffhanger

I might be wrong tho.

That is irrelevant to the discussion. Realism is not my complaint. This is a show that features dragons and sorcerers, faceless men and assasins made of smoke. At least two people have actually died and been brought back to life, so the fact that Sandor unrealistically survived his injuries is not a big deal to me.

This is just rude coming from a person I don't actually know. Considering how much time is compressed on the show, the mere fact that Reek began to even look like he could once again become Theon Greyjoy, simply after some words of encouragement and and a cup of Gulder is very irritating to me.

This is a guy whose phallus was removed, who slept in a dingy kennel, who actually refused to be rescued by his sister, and who actually even gave up his legitimate claim to the ironborn throne. It doesn't make sense to me that such a person should suddenly be able to find his inner conviction at the bottom of cup of ale.

That is drama for dramatic effect. Expect Theon to have an underserved big moment in the nearest future.

Oh please!

It was not 'already known that the hound wasn't dead'. He was never explicitly pronounced alive either in the book or in the show.

Cleaganebowl as a theory doesn't even make sense with what has happened on the Show. The latest septon was murdered by the Brotherhood without Banners.Even If we assume that the Hound is on his way to take revenge, his path does not directly take him in conflict with the Lannisters or Cersei to be particular, as the BwB are established enemies of the Starks on the show!(And that does not even take into account for the ressurected Catelyn Stark as their new leader)

Both brothers could very well meet and fight in a final showdown with everybody fighting everybody, but it would make no sense given the current story so far, other than to have the 2 brothers fight for dramatic effect.

It is cheap because he was portrayed to have died. GoT is generally gripping due to it's uncompromising approach to dispensing big characters with finality. Correct me if I'm wrong, but season 6 and the ending of S5 are the two seasons where the so called 'dead' are no longer dying anymore - The mountain, Jon Snow, and now The Hound. That's just cheap and provides an easy excuse to pull out a previously dead character to resolve a sticky plotline.

I won't be surpised if Hodor rocks up next week, all cured, and now with some whitewalker magic. Rubbish,
I didn't mean to be rude but the hound literally didn't die. He was left to die but didn't die. I understand complaining about Jon snow or the mountain but there is nothing to complain about the hound. He was left to die but he didn't. I don't see why you are complaining. You say you don't have a problem with it then why r u complaining?

The show is just taking the piss now.

Too many cheap tricks and 'get out of jail free ' cards.

Bringing back the hound just seemed cheap. Making him born again is even more annoying.

Theon has spent the last few years being broken by Ramsay. All of that bad work seems to be undone by just one cup of Stout.

And how the hell is Arya still alive? Multiple stab wounds, they even twisted the blade inside, and she still managed to avoid drowning and is still roaming the street.

I think we're beginning to see the TV-lisation of the plot. Got is becoming a soap opera.
Someone has survived a rod through the skull.

Your complaints hardly have a basis. The only just showed he is willing to change not that he has changed.

It was already known that the hound wasn't dead. Ever heard of Cleagane bowl? And also, he didn't die, how is it cheap that someone who isn't dead is still alive?
