Gbola5: D& D were thinking they put some more depth into Ned's character (being not so honorable as it seems...) if they make it appear he lied to Bran about the ToJ. Perhaps they forgot the "he would have killed me save for Howland Reed" part. The scene itself wasn't so bad. They cannot forget. Everything has a reason. Story writers (especially good ones like d & d) do not forget. I recommend watching "inside the episode" after every episode. They explain the reasons behind the character's actions. Instead of just jumping to conclusions. I will post links when I can. |

Gbola5: Most honorable man in westeros? Nah - let's make him a fucking liar for NO GOOD F*CKING REASON. Smh. So, you won't even let the story line play out before jumping on the hate train? I wonder ho yo know that they don't have a reason for doing that. |

Gbola5: Now the wildlings were running away from something, something the Night's Watch was created to defend the realm from, without this in common, could there really have been any truce, would the wildlings simply just bend the knee, would Jon being the LC have let them in. Maybe Jon didnt break his vows(although he did, the vow doesnt have to have loop holes to prove that), but he broke tradition. How can you say "maybe he didn't" then latter say "he did"...He didn't, plain an simple. Even Thorne knew that. It's not even tradition to fight wildlings, it's just that they were a threat to the "realm of men" but now, they are no more. |

CICERO09: pls wat do u call a nights watch man who relates well with the wilderlens or so nd i remember wen it was mentioned in season 6 episode 2 ...listen dnt just watch 4 actions to appen Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come. Now, show me where in the vows it says "I shall not relate well with wildlings". |

Will it make more sense to you if the main character just died like that? You even see in movies where the bad guy's bullet finishes before he can kill the main guy. It's normal. |

UjSizzle: Sansa is her mother's daughter lol. Not hating Jon, but not seeing him as one of them either. It will be nice to see her try to ask for protection
Meanwhile, anyone notice how the war has been caused by young Kings? Cersei told Joffery to spare Ned. Joff didn't. The north rebelled. Catelyn told Rob to to kill the Karstack guy that attacked a prisoner (against his orders). Rob killed him. The Karstacks rebelled against the north.
Young Princes really have no diplomatic tact. It's the reason why every government needs the wisdom of the old and the energy of the young. The karstarks didn't rebel, they only deserted. |

newguy1: see d excuse i guess dat is what Sam said when he wanted to break his vow to .note which among the other men of the wall have done it except for the two fan favourite. N d fight against d wildlings have been for 100 yrs there is no differentiating btw ones dat posses a threat or not u see a wildling u kill him b4 he dose u Almost all of them have. Maester aemon said this when they wanted to hang Jon for fooking a wildling. He said that if they punished everybody who snuck out to lay with a woman, there will be no men left in the nights watch. The nights watch protect the realms from threats and right now, the wildlings are not a threat. |

Gbola5: Jon did break his vows a couple of times, technically. But that's a central theme of the series, your vows being faced with something else. Jon is more about holding on to the spirit of the vow and the night's watch. Jon never loses sight of that. Oath's need a breaking point. Like Jaime. He did not break his vows. |

Also, it doesn't say th he cannot have seks with anyone. Gbola5: So tired of everyone being in love with Jon Snow, i like his character too but this is getting ridiculous. There are other things going on in the show, like the awful Dorne plots and poor Jaime, Dany, Brienne, Stannis and Sansa's butchered arcs. Okay. So, what you are saying Is that we should forget about the positive parts and focus on the negatives? This is exactly why you won't enjoy any film/series you watch |

Vorpal: What nonsense are you guys yapping about Ramsay? He did what was necessary in a world like westeros were brutality is the wielding stick, no law! And you all forget it was the same Walder Frey who murdered Robb, Catelyn and his pregnant wife! Isn't it the same Roose who watched while this happen and betrayed the Stark's? When Aegon used his dragon, balerion, to burn a whole castle and its inhabitants alive to the ground, he was called 'conqueror'. What he did was short of a psychopath?
So far Ramsay has done nothing to anyone that did not have it coming. She didn't murder Robb and neither did the lil kid. |

blackjack21: what are you guys talking now, Ellaria Sand has kids for Doran. when she called him spineless that was the only reason he forgave her.
I think the reason why she bent on avenging Obyrin is not that she really loved him, because she had a beef with Cersei. Remember Cersei referred to her family name(Sand) as non entity. The sand snakes are oberyn's not Doran. She wants to avenge oberyn. Sand is the surname of bastards in dorne, snow is for the North (e.g, Jon snow, ramsay snow) |

kay9: - That Dornish coup, I did not see that coming! I don't agree that Doran was weak, but Trystane... tsk-tsk. No true dornishman would turn his back on an enemy. However... the dornish are supposed to be fiercely loyal to family - isn't that why Oberyn came to avenge their sister? Seems out-of-character then for Ellaria to murder Doran AND his son - even they were "weak". Ellaria is a bastard. She loved oberyn with all her heart. She wants to avenge oberyn's death. She kept going on and on about it last season. The reason why oberyn wanted to avenge his sister was because he loved her. Ellaria doesn't care about ellia or the Prince or tristane, she only cares about oberyn. |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 2:25pm On Apr 26, 2016 |
Gbola5: Dorne loves the Mar tells. That's what I thought but they obviously don't(maybe they do in the books). The guards didn't even blink. They obviously do not support the Prince and based on her speech, the people have grown tired of him. The idea that he was loved wasn't promoted in the show in any way. That's why I said we do not know much about the dornish people. If they loved the Prince, the guards would have done something. |

kay9: Naa... We have history stretching back YEARS on this thread. I've grown kinda attached to it abeg. I understand how quite a number of folks may not have seen S6-E1 yet, but methinks 48hrs afterwards is enough grace period before allowing discussions. You could maybe do the thread-lock thing (like you used to last year) then unlock again for discussion say 24-36hrs after the airing of an episode. It certainly worked then.
But I can imagine why you may consider giving a S6 a new thread... This Seun sef, you like business sha!! 26 hrs too much now. Maybe 12pm on mondays |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 12:03pm On Apr 26, 2016 |
Gbola5: What's the deal with Ellaria killing Doran and Trystane? That's just the problem I have with the episode... Dorne has always been the weak point since it came around. I mean, I understand the logic behind the killing but when she mentions that the people don't like the Prince, that came as a shock because there was no build up. R Scenes in dorne have only taken place in the water gardens, we have no idea who the dornish are or How they feel. Ellaria isn't even the brightest. We know that she loved oberyn madly (only oberyn) and she desperately wants a war to avenge his death (even tho he wasn't murdered, no one forced oberyn to fight and also, he was defeated fair and square). Sh is a dumb girl who is hell bent on revenge at all cost. It's just the water gardens we see in dorne, nothing else. And that's just bad. |
